Nabiullah Ibrahim Alayhi Salam So inshaAllah today I want to speak about Ibrahim It's a story And the story inshaAllah is going to be more of a lot of benefits that I'm going to derive from their lives or from the life of this prophet So it's not just going to be just a story This is what happened and this is what happened and this is what happened. But inshallah it's going to be fawa'id and benefits that we can take from his life that we inshallah can implement in our lives. Because that's what Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala told us the stories of these prophets.
Allah didn't tell us their stories so we could just enjoy our time and say, wow, that was an amazing story. That wasn't the intent. That isn't the reason why Prophet's stories are mentioned or they're spoken about in the Quran. The reason their stories are mentioned is because...
When the Ummah find in their hearts lost, as they have lost, they don't have no role models, they go back to the lives of these people and they read their lives. And then inshaAllah their himmah, their aspiration, it goes up again. Also lessons that they take from their lives.
Nebiyullah Ibrahim, the reason why I chose him is for two reasons. The first reason why I chose his life, the first reason is we are in the first days of the Hijjah. And these days have its virtue and it has its makana, place. lot of it revolves around who?
Nabiullah Ibrahim. A lot of the significance is Nabiullah Ibrahim. So inshallah you will all understand a lot of the things that I'm going to mention that Ibrahim a.s.
he did this and we are following him in it. So I start by saying, who is Nabiullah Ibrahim? I'm going to define him inshallah.
When I finish the talk, I'm going to ask some questions regarding. Nabiullah Ibrahim has a big place in my heart. Wallahi, I love him as a prophet. And the love that I have for him, I named my son after him.
And he is the second most beloved. creation to Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala from the jinn and the ins. Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala loves Ibrahim a.s.
So inshallah pay attention and listen inshallah to this great benefit of his life. Ibrahim a.s. is the father of all the prophets.
Allah said regarding Ibrahim, Ibrahim by himself is a nation. Qanitan lillahi, who stands for Allah Hanifan, diverted From what? From shirk Diverted to what?
To tawheed Wa lam yakum minal mushrikeen Ibrahim was not from the polytheists He was never from them Shakiran li an'umih Ibrahim was one who thanked Allah for the blessing he bestowed upon him Ijtabahu Allah chose him Wahadahu Allah guided him Allah guided him to the straight path Ibrahim is Khalilur Rahman He is the close ally of Allah SWT Al-Imam Ibn Al-Qayyim Al-Jawziyah Rahimahullah He said In this ayah, there are four praises regarding Ibrahim A.S. If Tataha, Allah opened it virtues that Allah started by mentioning of Ibrahim is what? That Ibrahim himself is an Ummah. والأمة What does it mean? هو القدوة الذي يؤتم به قدوة is a person who is followed. The difference between an Ummah and an Imam is different in two ways.
First one is أن الإيمام The Imam كل ما يؤتم بي سواء كان بقصده وشعوره أو لا Imam is a person you follow whether you feel it or you don't feel it, that's an Imam. The second one is, The word Ummah has a higher meaning, has a bigger meaning. Ummah is the one who is compiled in him.
He has complete characteristics. What are the complete characteristics? His knowledge is complete.
Ibrahim's knowledge was complete. And his actions were also complete. Ibrahim remained by himself standing for the religion of Allah Ibrahim was the only individual at his time who stood up with complete and comprehensive characteristics عليه السلام The second thana, the second praise that Allah put regarding Ibrahim is what?
قانتاً لله What does means? Hanif means the one who is diverted or the one that faces Allah. And from this meaning, the word Hanif is a crooked.
When the thing is turned, it is when it's diverted. Ibrahim wasn't straight. He was diverted from what? He was diverted from Jazakallah.
He was diverted from what? He was diverted from shirk, diverted to what? Tawheed, Nabiullah Ibrahim.
The last characteristics that was put in the ayah regarding him was Somebody to be thankful to Allah for the blessing that Allah bestows upon you. Three things are needed and that is the pillar of anybody who is thankful to the things that Allah bestows him. And I'm reading the kalam of Ibn Al-Qayyim, rahimahullah, in his great kitab.
Miftahudari Sa'ada, he says Al-Iqraru Bin Ni'mah The first one, Shukrun Ni'mah is what? Al-Iqrar, it is to affirm the blessing that Allah has bestowed upon you, affirmation The second one is Wa-Izaafatiha Ila Al-Mun'imi Biha And to ascribe this blessing to the one that blessed you with it Not give it to somebody else, not say I came with it myself But to ascribe it to the one who gave it to you Third was Wasarfihaa fee mardaati And then to use that blessing for what pleases Allah Wal amalu feehaa bima yajib And to do with that blessing what is mandatory from it Ibrahim had those characteristics The first one was Ibrahim was what? Ummah Second one was what is a Ummah? Alqudwatul hasana He was a true, a great and a noble romadu alayhi salam the second one was ibrahim alayhi salam he had what ibrahim was consistent upon righteous actions and inshallah when we take his life in details you will all affirm that and say allahu akbar even his own blood and flesh his son the only son that he had he was told to slaughter it ya bunay inni ara fil manam Anni azbahuka fanthur maaza tara He said to that one son that he had, Ibrahim reached an old age.
He didn't think he's ever going to have children again. Allah wanted to test him. Even at that old age, Allah said, I have ordered you in a dream.
Allah ordered him to slaughter his son. Did he question Allah's judgments? Did he question what Allah ordered him?
Ibrahim, la wa Allah, he didn't. Ibrahim submitted himself to the command of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala. All his life, he was a true servant to Allah. The third characteristic that Allah mentioned in this ayah was, حَنِيفًا Ibrahim was what? He was a person who diverted from shirk and associating Allah with partners.
And he faced towards Allah wholeheartedly. The last one which was what? He was one that was thankful to that which Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala blessed him with. Ibrahim a.s.
We have to mention that he was mentioned in the Quran. 69 times in the Quran, Allah mentioned him. And the scholars dispute the name of his father. They don't know what his correct name was. But the name that was mentioned in the Quran was Azar.
Allah said subhanahu wa ta'ala, When Ibrahim said to his father Azar, some of the mufassireen, The scholars of Tafsir, some of them said, Azar here is not the father of Ibrahim, but rather it is his uncle. And at that time, the uncle was also referred to as what? As a father.
And that khilaf is... But from the apparent of the ayah, it seems as though his father is what? Azar.
And Allah mentioned it in the Quran and also did the Prophet ﷺ. When I read this hadith, it amazed me. It saddened me.
This hadith, Al-Imam al-Bukhari narrating from Hadith Abi Hurairah. And this is to show Ibrahim's father was Azar, the father. But this story is amazing. Ibrahim alayhi salam, he's going to meet his father the day of judgment.
Ibrahim is going to meet his father Azar Ibrahim is going to meet his father Azar the day of judgment. And on his father is Qatarah, a suit. His father's face is going to be dark.
Darkness here is not the literal color, but when the person is depressed and sad. And Ghabarah, dust, is going to be on the face of Ibrahim's father. Yawmul Qiyamah.
Nabiullah Ibrahim, when he sees his father, Ibrahim says to his father, Alam akul laka la ta'asini. My father. Did I not tell you when we were in the world, do not disobey me?
Because Ibrahim did. He said, He said, my father, do not worship shaytan. Shaytan has disobeyed Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala. He said, that a punishment is going to come over you and that you become the ally of shaytan i'm scared that may happen to you so ibrahim a.s.
warned his father when his father was in this world he says to his father did i not tell you not to the qibla is wrong tell him the qibla is wrong The Qibla is that way. His father said to him, Did I not tell you? Ibrahim says to his father, Did I not tell you? Do not disobey me. His father says to Ibrahim, This father says to Ibrahim, Today I'm not going to disobey you, father.
Today, I will not disobey you. عِنْدَهَا يَقُولُ إِبْرَاهِيمُ And then Ibrahim says, صَلَوَاتُ اللَّهِ وَسَلَامُ عَلَيْهِ Ya Rabbi, my Lord, inna ka wa'attani O Allah, you gave me a promise an la tukhzini yawma yub'athood O Allah, you gave me a promise that you are not going to make me saddened or you are not going to afflict me with any form of pain and this is Nabiullah Ibrahim he is the most beloved creation to Allah From the jinn and the inns, nothing is more beloved to Nabiullah Ibrahim and there's no one more beloved to Allah after Muhammad and Ibrahim. Ibrahim turns to Allah and he says to Allah, O Allah, you promised me that you're not going to make me suffer. A father that is distant from the mercy of Allah.
Allah says to him Ibrahim, I have prohibited Jannah from the disbelievers This is something that was written It's not going to be changed And then it said to Ibrahim Look what is between your feet He sees Form of a dog barking in between his legs and that is his father And he will be grabbed from the collar, his father, and he will be thrown into the hellfire. And Imam al-Hakim, he narrated in his kitab al-Mustadrak, and he said, The hadith is of the conditions of Bukhari Muslim, that the Messenger ﷺ had a thousand companions with him, Nabiullahi Muhammad. He had what? And a thousand companions, and each and every one of them had their riding beast. The Messenger led the Salah and they were they done Hijrah from Mecca They sorry they done sorry and travel, safar, a journey from Medina to Mecca And they're in there they're on their way to Mecca and they come to a place called Abwa And at this place the Prophet's mother is buried.
The Prophet leads the Salah and he turns around The Prophet's eyes are watering Umar said to him, I free the Abi wa Ummi. I free my mother and my father for you, O Messenger of Allah. What is it that makes you cry, O Messenger of Allah?
The Messenger looks at Abu Bakr and Umar. And he looks at the companion, and he says to them, سَأَلْتُ رَبِّي I ask my Lord, Allah, servant. He said, I ask Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala an azura qabra ummi if I can go and visit the grave of my mother fa adhina li Allah gave me the permission meaning Allah allowed me wa sta'adhan tu rabbi I then took permission from Allah an astaghfira lahaa if I can ask forgiveness for her fa lam ya'dhan li Allah did not allow me My eyes are watering the Messenger sallallahu alayhi wa sallam and he's saying I love my mother. I love my mother. I ask each and every one of you, if Nabi Muhammad could not do anything for his mother, and Nabi Ibrahim could not do anything for his father, and if they didn't work in this dunya, and they didn't come with righteous actions, it won't help them the hereafter.
What makes you think you're going to be saved that day? What's going to save you? Are you going to be protected from the hellfire?
These are the two most beloved creations to Allah, Ibrahim alayhi salam and Nabiullah Muhammad. And they are both unable to help the most beloved people to them, their own parents. No one is able to help you the Day of Judgment, brothers and sisters, if you don't work for it. If you don't come with efforts, no one is able to help you and nobody will help you that day.
So make sure that you work for it. Nabiullah Ibrahim alayhi salam. He was raised in Iraq, in a bay'ah wa thariyyah, idol worshipping. The idols were highly respected in the community that Ibrahim a.s.
was from. And it is even said that they used to worship the sun and the moon. And they also used to worship the stars.
There were people who were like that. The Quran came regarding the worship of the moon and inshallah later when we come to the debate of Ibrahim, we will see it. Ibrahim's father was a carpenter, a najjar, he was a carpenter. And he used to make idols. And he used to give the idols to Ibrahim alayhi salam.
And he used to tell Ibrahim, go and take the idols to the market. Sell them or even distribute them. So the Ilah is sold, he is bought, he is given as a gift.
This is how their mindset was like. Ibrahim A.S. at a young age, what would he do? He would say to the people, من يشتري, who is going to buy from me?
Who is going to buy from me that which cannot harm nor benefit? Who wants to buy something that cannot harm you nor benefit you? At that young age he used to say that, Ibrahim.
And even sometimes he used to take the idol to the water. He would take the idol and put it into the water and drown it. And then he would say to the idol, get out, come out, try to come out by yourself. This is how he was.
His fitrah was very salim, alayhi salam. Ibrahim, alayhi salam, this is the type of environment he grew up, alayhi salatu wasalam. As we're going to come, Ibrahim never and never did he ever take the path of worshipping idols. Ibrahim alayhi salam, he's high rank, he's nobility, he's position.
Brothers and sisters, unanimously it is agreed upon all the three religions that exist. Christianity, Judaism and Islam, all of them praise Nabiullah Ibrahim. Why? Because Nabiullah Ibrahim said to Allah, Oh Allah, give me a good remaining after me.
And Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala, what did he do? Nabi Allah Ibrahim after his death, his word didn't die out. The good that was mentioned about him didn't come to an end. As Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala mentioned in the Quran, about the Jews and the Christians all saying that Ibrahim is from us. Do you say that Ibrahim and Ismail and Ishaq and Ya'qub and also Asbat Do you say all of them are Jews and Christians?
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala also said Ya ahl al-kitabi or the people of the book lima tuhajjuna Why is it that you debate fi Ibrahima in the affairs of Ibrahim wa ma uzzirati al-Tawrat and that which was sent in Tawrat wal-injeel and the book that was sent in the Injeel or the Injeel that was sent illa min ba'di except after it afala ta'qilon Are you all not that which think? And Ibrahim is not from you, he is with those to come later. And Allah refuted them by saying, Ibrahim was not a Christian, nor was Ibrahim a Jew. But Ibrahim was a Muslim who submitted himself to Allah, who diverted away from shirk, and Ibrahim was never from the...
those who associated Allah with partners. What was the reality of the da'wah of Nabiullah Ibrahim? What did Ibrahim a.s. call to?
Ibrahim a.s. he called his ummah for the period that he was in amongst them, Ibrahim. And a verse that we mentioned before, as Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala mentioned, Allah said we gave him We gave Ibrahim good in this world And Ibrahim in the hereafter He is from the righteous people Why is he from the righteous people?
Allah tells us it When we revealed upon you O Muhammad Ilaika anittabi' Nabi Muhammad was ordered to follow Ibrahim and Ibrahim was not from those who associate Allah with partners. Allah SWT also said, The Prophet Muhammad, Allah said to him, Allah SWT guided me to the straight path. Deen and a religion, Qiyaman that is straight.
Millah Ibrahim Hanifa, the religion of Nabiullah Ibrahim. Wa ma kana minal mushrikeen. And Ibrahim was not those who used to associate Allah with partners.
Wa qala subhanahu wa ta'ala, and Allah also said, Qul sadaka Allah, say Muhammad, Allah has told the truth. Fattabi'u, follow millah Ibrahim Hanifa. Follow the path of Ibrahim. Wa ma kana minal mushrikeen. And Ibrahim was not those who associated Allah with partners.
And Allah also said, Fight in the cause of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala, a true fighting. هُوَ جَتَبَاكُمْ Allah has chosen you. Allah has not placed in this religion any form of burden and hardship.
The religion of Nabiullah Ibrahim. Allah has called you Muslims before. So Allah has told us here that Nabiullah Ibrahim's path was what our Prophet Muhammad was ordered to follow. So Nabiullah Ibrahim, so you all have to think and ponder. If Nabiullah Ibrahim was the best of prophets, he is then ordered to follow Ibrahim.
What does that show you? The status and the position of Ibrahim. Now I'm going to mention some of the virtues of Ibrahim a.s. Istafahu, Allah chose Ibrahim.
And Allah completed his blessing on Ibrahim. Allah says that in the Quran, Allah chose Nuh.
Wa ala Ibrahim, and Allah chose the family of Ibrahim. Wa ala Imran, and the children of Imran. Ala al-alameena, in this universe Allah chose them. Allah also said in another place, Ibrahim was from those who were chosen. Also Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala, He said, Wa yu'timmu ni'matah, Allah completes His blessings on whoever He wishes.
Alaika on you Muhammad. Wa ala al-ya'qub, and the family of Ya'qub. Kama atammaha. As Allah has completed His blessing على أبويك on your forefathers إبراهيم من قبل إبراهيم وإسحاق Before that, Ibrahim and Ishaq, Allah completed on them what?
Allah completed on both of them His blessings. So Ibrahim was chosen by Allah and Allah completed His blessing. The second virtue is Allah referred to Ibrahim as though in the Quran that he is the truthful one.
Mention and remember Ibrahim in the book. He was a truthful prophet. The third characteristic of Ibrahim was Allah described him as a righteous individual. We chose Ibrahim in this world. And in the hereafter he is from those righteous ones.
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala referred to Ibrahim as what? Awwahun, haleem, muneeb. Allah referred to him as one who repents and comes back to Allah.
Allah referred to Ibrahim as a kind individual. Allah said, Ibrahim is one that is soft, kind. Awwahun, who comes back to, muneeb to Allah.
He is one who comes back and rejects himself back to Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala. Fifth characteristics of Ibrahim was what? Salimul Qalb.
Ibrahim's heart was clean. He had no taint. He had no anything towards anyone.
Allah Ta'ala said, When Ibrahim came to his Lord Allah Azza wa Jal with a clean heart. The sixth characteristics of Ibrahim was Allah gave him wisdom and complete mind. Whilst he was young.
Allah Ta'ala said, وَلَقَدْ آتَيْنَا إِبْرَاهِيمَ رُشْدَهُ We gave Ibrahim complete intellects. من قبل, before. And we were those who were more knowledgeable of him. The seventh characteristics.
Allah uplifted the status and the rank of Ibrahim a.s. قَالَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَىٰ Allah said, وَتِلْكَ حُجَّتُنَا This is our proof. آتَيْنَا هَا We gave it to.
We gave Ibrahim our proof We uplift whoever we wish Ranks and stages Whoever we wish The eighth characteristic of Ibrahim was what? Allah took Nabiullah Ibrahim as a close, close, close, close friend Allah said Allah took Ibrahim as a close, close, close friend Allah took Nabiullah Ibrahim as a Khalil. 9. Anahu waffa ma'alaih. Ibrahim did everything that was required from him.
Qala Allahu ta'ala wa Ibrahim alladhi waffa. Ibrahim that did that which was of over him. So Ibrahim has all these great characteristics.
Nabiullah Ibrahim. Nabiullah Muhammad. As Imam Muslim now written in his sahih. Min hadithi alas ibn Malik.
Jaa rajlun ila nabi. A man came to the Messenger ﷺ, faqala lahu, he said to the Prophet, ya khayral bariyah, he said to the Prophet, the best of people, he said that to who? To the Prophet Muhammad.
He said the best of people. The Prophet ﷺ has said, dhaka ibraheemu khalilullah. That which you just said, the best of people, that is Ibrahim, the very close friend of Allah ﷻ.
The virtue that Ibrahim also had, that the Messenger ﷺ mentioned. The day of judgment When everybody is going to be stripped of their clothes Everybody is going to come to Allah the day of judgment عراتا Naked Having no clothes on Also the people will come without no shoes To Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala the day of judgment And also the people will come the day of judgment The first way we created you, we will bring you back. You will come back to us exactly the way you were when you left us.
As Allah says subhanahu wa ta'ala. So every single person will come back to Allah in that condition, in that way. Who is going to be the first person who Allah that day, when the people are in so much need of clothes, who is the first person who Allah is going to give clothes to? Is Nabiullah Ibrahim as Imam al-Bukhari.
And Muslim narrating in Hadith Ibn Abbas The first person who the garment will be given to is Nabiullah Ibrahim. No one else will be given clothes. Why would he be the first to be given clothes? Al-Imam Ibn Kathir, Rahimahullah. And Ibn Hajar Al-Asqalani.
And before them, Shaykhul Islam Ibn Taymiyyah, Rahimahullah. They mentioned because Ibrahim, when he went into the fire, his clothes got... burnt for the sake of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala and he did it for Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala's religion he stood up for it whilst he was in this world today that everyone is naked he is going to be the first person to be privileged the first person to be given that right and that opportunity to get clothed to wear Nabiullah Ibrahim also the virtue that Nabiullah Ibrahim had was all the prophets when the prophets saw them the prophet that was at the highest position Who was at the highest level in the heavens was Nabiullah Ibrahim.
In the hadith of Isra and Mi'raj, the Prophet ﷺ, he met all the prophets and he met Nabiullah Ibrahim. His back was on Baitul Ma'mur. Baitul Ma'mur is a place where 70,000 angels come every single day.
And they do tawaf around there and they never come back again. Every single day, 70,000 angels come. They do tawaf around Bayt al-Ma'mur and they never come again.
And another new 70,000 come again. Nabiullah Ibrahim's back was leaning on there and he was at the highest level over all the other prophets. And Nabiullah Muhammad saw him there. We will carry inshallah after the salah. By the grace of Allah, the story of Ibrahim.
We're going to carry on with the story of Nabi Allah Ibrahim. Were we talking about Ibrahim? Were we talking about the life of Nabi Allah Ibrahim?
Yes. Let's carry on his story, inshaAllah. Nabi Allah Ibrahim, when I mentioned some of his virtues, I now am going to move on to the Dawah Ibrahim gave.
Ibrahim, he conveyed the religion of Islam The religion that was given to him And the person who he started his da'wah with The first people in which he called was his father Ibrahim started with his father to call the religion of Islam too And the way he spoke to his father was in a manner In a way that was completely full of love, compassion and mercy. And he started with his father because Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala, he said in the Quran, When you warn, start with the close relatives. If a person wants to start khair, where should he start the good with? Where does he start the khair with? He starts it inside his house.
He starts it with his parents. He starts it with his brothers. He starts it with his close family.
So Nabiullah Ibrahim, he started his reminder and his khayr with who? His family, his close relatives. He started with his father, and inshallah we're going to take some of that, and inshallah we'll conclude there.
Whenever we get another time, inshallah we will carry on the life of Nabiullah Ibrahim a.s. Ibrahim started with his father, and inshallah Allah mentions it in the Quran. I want all of you, inshallah, to look at the mana that Nabiullah Ibrahim used to address his father.
Allah said in the Quran, Remember in the book, Ibrahim, Nabiullah Ibrahim. Ibrahim was a truthful prophet. Softness. He said my father, daddy.
He didn't say old man. He didn't call his father by his name. He said, my dad. A sign of love and compassion.
When a person wants to speak to his parents, he should speak with softness, kindness. Not to mention, if your parents are what? Muslims.
Ibrahim's father is a kafir. He doesn't believe in Allah, nor does he believe in the Day of Judgment. Even then, how is he speaking?
He's saying, my father. And this is a manner that we need to take from Nabiullah Ibrahim. He said to him, look, Why do you worship? Question, father, why do you worship? Something that doesn't hear.
And it doesn't see. And it cannot help you from anything. It cannot suffice you from anything.
If you need food, it's unable to give it to you. If you want help, it's unable to do it for you. Why do you worship it? Ya Abati, my father, Inni qad jaani, it has come to me minal ilmi, from knowledge.
Ma lam ya'tika, knowledge that hasn't come to you. That knowledge has come to me. Fa tabi'ni, my father, follow me.
Ahdika, I will guide you. Siratan sawiya, a straight path. Ibrahim did not say Ibrahim did not say Ya Abati innaka jahilun My father you are ignorant He didn't say that Manners, he said Ya Abati Inni qad jaani For me has come knowledge Ma lam ya'tika That knowledge has not come to you Look at the words he used, the wisdom Fattabi'ni follow me Ahdika siratan sawiya I will guide you to the better paths Ibrahim what is he going to guide his father from?
Worshiping idols. This is also a reminder to the father that not necessarily you as a father and you as a mother, not necessarily all the time are you more knowledgeable than your child always in a matter. It can sometimes happen that your child sees something and he has a better vision of this matter.
It is a sign of respect and it's also a sign of goodness that the father and the mother they listen to what the child has to say. Nabiullah Ibrahim's father didn't listen. Ibrahim's father, what form of shirk did he fall into? Shirk al-ta'a, the shirk of obedience of shaytan.
And for that, Allah ordered us not to be like that. Allah said in the Quran, Did I not take an oath with you to not worship shaytan? Iblis and Shaytan is a clear enemy of yours. Brothers and sisters, Iblis is an enemy. His enmity towards you didn't start today, didn't start yesterday.
Iblis'enmity started the day Nabi Allah Adam was created. When Adam was created, his enmity started. And this is what he said. He said, Oh Allah, I promise.
He's saying this to Allah. I promise. I will sit in front of them. Iblis did not say, Oh Allah, I will sit on the straight path. He didn't say that.
He didn't say, لَأَقْعُدَنَّ عَلَى صِرَاطَكَ الْمُسْتَقِيمِ Iblis said, لَأَقْعُدَنَّ لَهُمْ صِرَاطَكَ الْمُسْتَقِيمُ I will be on the path, straight path. This is where I am. He's as though he's trying to say that the straight path, or where he is, and the path and him become one. They emerge.
And that he is something that is going to be continuously and consistently on this path. He will never move from it. It misguides the creation. Because if he says, I'll be in front of him, it will then probably take the meaning, that sometimes he might move from there and sometimes he might come back. But what he's trying to say is, no, I am always in front of him and I'm always behind him and I'm always on his right and his left.
I will always try to misguide him. So Iblis will not ever, brothers, say to himself, I have caused enough destruction. I have caused enough corruption.
It's enough now. I don't want to do any corruption to you guys anymore. Inshallah, this is a treaty and a contract between us and you. Abed and Iblis doesn't. Until Iblis finally realizes that he is taking you to the hellfire, he will not give up.
Ikhwani, if even Iblis succeeds, if he succeeds, if he doesn't succeed, sorry, he doesn't succeed in taking you to the wrong. And he realizes that you are a staunch, a strong and a tough person who is always going to do the khair. Iblis will not say to himself, oh okay, I will leave him alone.
He won't do that. He will say, okay, he wants to do the good. I will make him do the good that is present. I will make him do the least of those goods. The goods are not all one level, are they?
They are not. There is a fadhil and there is a mafdool. There is a rajih and there is a marjuh. The good has a high level and a low level within the good.
If Iblis does not succeed in taking you away from the good to the evil, he will then try to do what? Try to make you take the least of the good and not the best. So for example, if he knows that you're going to read the Quran, he will try to make you read little, not a lot. Well, how do you all think Iblis, when Umar ibn al-Khattab takes a path, Iblis takes another path? Well, how?
Why does he do that? Because Iblis tried to misguide Umar ibn al-Khattab. He tried to take him away from the straight path.
He tried to whisper to him. But Umar, whenever he whispered to Umar, what did Umar do? Umar said, oh, he multiplied the good. Whenever Shaytan tried to whisper to Umar ibn al-Khattab, Umar multiplied the good.
Shaytan realized he can actually misguide Umar ibn al-Khattab. by not whispering to him. So he would never say to himself, I have not caused enough. He always would do more.
And that's why Allah said in the Quran, وَإِذْ قَالَ الشَّيْطَانُ لَمَّا قُضِيَ الْأَمْرُ إِنَّ اللَّهَ وَعَدَكُمْ وَعَدَ الْحَقِّ وَوَعَدْتُكُمْ فَأَخْلَفْتُكُمْ وَمَا كَانَ لِيَ عَلَيْكُمْ مِنْ سُلْطَانٍ إِلَّا أَن دَعُوتُكُمْ فَاسْتَجَبْتُمْ لِي فَلَا تَلُومُونِي وَلُومُوا أَنفُسَكُمْ مَا أَنَ بِمُسْرِخِكُمْ وَمَا أَنْتُ بِمُسْرِخِي Inni kafartu bima sharaktumuni min qabr Inna dhalimeena lahum azabun alim Shaytan does a khutbah, the day of judgment And he does it to the people he has misguided Shaytan will say to the people he has misguided Wa qala ash-shaytanu lamma qudiya al-amr When the matter is brought to a decision This is what Iblis says Inna allaha wa'adakum Allah gave you all a promise Wa wa'adtukum And I also gave you a promise Inna allaha wa'adakum wa'adal haq Allah promised you a promise that was truthful. Allah's promise was right. And I also promised you, but my promise was false.
It had no basis in it. I promised you all something. When I made you guys do the sins, what did I do to you all? I promised you things, I said this will happen for you. I gave you delusions and I promised you fake things that didn't exist.
Everything was a mirage. And I broke my promise. Here I am telling you, I broke my promise.
And additionally, to also let you know, I had no force over you. Did I come to you and grab you from the collar and made you do the zina or made you do the haram? Or did I, was I the one? No. I had no power over you.
I only spoke to you. I only whispered to you. And you listen.
It's your fault. He's mocking you today. He's mocking you today when you're frightened.
When it's the day you say to yourself, I followed you. Today, the ones that followed Iblis, they are thinking, I obeyed him. So today he's going to care for me. He's going to show me love.
He's going to protect me. He's not going to let me down. But this is what he's saying. The Shaytan will say to the people what? Shaytan will say, I promised you and so did Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
And Allah's promise was true. My promise is what? Baatir, I broke it.
I had no proofs over you. Except that I called you فَاسْتَجَبْتُمْ لِي You accepted what? فَاسْتَجَبْتُمْ لِي You accepted my caller فَلَا تَلْلُومُونِ Do not blame me وَلُومُوا أَنفُسَكُمْ Blame yourselves مَا أَنَا بِمُسْرِخِكُمْ I am not one that can help you today And you are not able to help me today Imanis is saying this is something that has happened No one's able to do anything for anyone. You're alone, brother.
You're by yourself. I want to ask you all... Why is it that many of us worship shaytan today? What does it mean, don't worship shaytan?
It means that you listen to everything he says. You obey him over Allah. You obey him over the messenger. A lot of us are dwelling inside sins. One after the other.
Whenever it gets dark, we sin. When it's daytime, we sin. Open, in public, privately, in everything, we don't really care. Fear Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
And this is what Ibrahim told his father. He said, Ya abati la ta'budu shaytan. My father, do not worship shaytan. He is a clear cut enemy of yours, my father.
Wallahi has no mercy for you. I have mercy for you, father. I love you.
I care for you. And at the beginning of the story of Ibrahim, what did I say? That Ibrahim a.s. himself, he says to his father, his father, what did I tell you when we were in the world? Did I not tell you not to obey Iblis?
He said to him, Today my father, I will not disobey you. disobey you. Just give me that one chance again.
And his father, Ibrahim is unable to do anything for what? For his father. What did he also say?
Ibrahim said to his father, Ya Abati, my father, inni akhafu aythia, an yamassa ka adab, that a punishment will strike you. Fattakuna li shaytani waliya. And that you become what?
The allies of who? The allies of Shaytan. I'm scared.
Brothers, Shaytan is not a wali and he's not an ally of a mu'min. Iblis has no hujjah, he has no proof, and he has no strength of any person who has iman in him. The people of iman, shaytan has no power. yourself from the sins and the more you can stay away from any form of disobedience of Allah and the more you your Iman is weak the more Iblis has you and the more you obey him and the more you become his ally well he that is why it's important that a person strengthens their Iman and the belief that they have Allah of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala And Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala also ordered us in the Quran to fight with shaytan and also the people who follow shaytan. As he said, فَقَاتِلُوا أَوْلِيَاءَ الشَّيْطَانِ Fight in the cause, whether it's a way of fighting by oral, orally fighting against them, or by way of action.
Allah also said in another ayah, They took besides Allah, allies, shaytan, they took him as allies. And that is the sad thing. Ibrahim, finally, when he spoke to his father like this, what did Ibrahim say to his father?
His father replied, Oh this year, abati, my father and my father and my father. What was the reply of his father in regards to this nusr, this sincere advice, this rifq, this softness, and this lead? This is the answer of his father. He's a person whose heart has become tainted. He said to him, Ibrahim, are you an individual who has a will and likes other than these idols?
Or do you want me to like other than these idols? If you do not stop what you are doing, لَأَرْجُمَنَّكَ I will stone you. وَهْجُرْنِي مَلِيَّا And leave me مَلِيَّا أَيْطَوِيلَ Leave me for a long time. Get away from me.
And he kicked Nabiullah Ibrahim from his house. And this is why we find a lot of people today in this world When the truth is told to them When the khair is mentioned to them They don't listen and their heart doesn't find any form of acceptance Why is that? It's because Allah said said in the Quran, Some people's hearts are more stronger and they are more harder than the stone and the rock.
It's harder. And trying to get something from a stone, it's hard. So this person's heart has become like this. Ibrahim's father, the son is saying to him, And his father is saying to him, I will stone you if you don't stop. I will what?
I will kick you out of the house. Ibrahim's father, when he said this to him, what was his reply? What did he say to him?
He said to him, Peace be upon you, my father. And why did he say, peace be upon you? Why is he sending salutations on his father? Because Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala, He said, about the عِبَادُ الرَّحْمَانِ, the true servants of Allah, وَعِبَادُ الرَّحْمَانِ الَّذِينَ يَمْشُونَ عَلَى الْأَرْضِ هَوْنًا وَإِذَا خَاطَبَهُمُ الْجَاهِلُونَ قَالُوا سَلَامًا It is the characteristic of the Prophet. of the righteous people.
It's sad today that what you find is some Muslims when they have a fight with another disbeliever or a kafir, when they have a fight, you find some Muslims, they start speaking foul language in the streets. A Muslim is never... never insults.
Hatta if he gets angry. And the kafir says every bad thing to you, you never say anything bad. In terms of vulgar language.
Rasulullah never allowed it. A Muslim's tongue, nothing bad ever comes out of it. When the Yahud came to the Prophet and they said to him, Sama alayk, death be upon you. Aisha heard them and she said, As-Sama wa-la'n wa-shatm wa-sab alayk.
She said, May curse and may death and may all of this be upon you. She got emotional. This is the way. This is the messenger of Allah and it's also her husband. Rasulullah said, Aisha, wait, wait, wait.
He said, Did you not hear what they said? The Prophet said, I heard. Did you not hear what I said?
I said, May the same be upon you. Rasulullah was wise. He knew what to say.
So sometimes you see Muslims joking on the buses. Youngsters, youngsters, I'm talking to you all. Sometimes you see youngsters on the bus saying foul language.
When you look at him, he's either Somali, Pakistani, Arab, whatever. But he's a Muslim. Muslim, he insults, says a foul language. It's never. You see a Muslim sister also saying something that is foul or bad language.
All of this is what? All of this is a sign that the Iman is weak. Nabiullah Ibrahim, what did he say? His father said, I'm going to stone you to death.
He said, I'm going to kick you out of the house. I don't want to see you anymore. Ibrahim said to him what?
Because The righteous people are what? They are those who say, if they hear laghu, foul language, language, wrong speech from a people, what do they say? They turn away from them and they say to them, peace be upon you. We do not request, we don't want anything from ignorant people.
We don't want anything. So they leave them alone. So Ibrahim, what did he say in return?
He said, peace be upon you my father. I will ask my Lord Allah to forgive for you for what you have done and what you do. I will ask Allah to forgive you.
you. In another ayah what did he say? He said to Allah, O Allah forgive my father for verily he is from the misguided ones. But as Allah said in the Quran, when it became clear to Nabiullah Ibrahim that his father was an enemy of Allah Ibrahim when he found out that it is not permissible to ask Allah's forgiveness for a disbeliever Ibrahim stopped and he never asked Allah's forgiveness I conclude there inshaAllah
