foreign America here speaking with Joe Asher the president of sports betting at IGT thank you for speaking with us today Joe yeah good to see you a lot of people here at the show indeed indeed um my first question is what major products in sports betting is IGT pushing at g2e 2022 well you know I think the newest uh latest greatest is the Peak bar top which is a bar top machine that has all kinds of gaming content as well as sports betting on it you know just fortuitously for us yesterday it was the uh won the award at the global gaming awards for best new product but it's it's got all that traditional Game King type content but on a bar top machine so you can sit at the bar play a little video poker watch the game bet the game at the same time and what is a company such as yours hope to get out of events such as this well it's just sort of the um the industry's main attraction really you know people come from far and uh and near uh it's a huge crowd this year uh but it's just good to reconnect with people let folks see the products that we're offering and find out what they need and and uh quite a bit of business gets done over uh you know over the two or three days and um sort of how are you looking to grow the company in the next year I mean are this the side of the company that you're that you're in charge of yeah well um sports betting is of course expanding into new um States Ohio goes live on January the 1st uh hopefully there'll be some other states uh in 2023 as well uh I might have said July 1st I meant January the 1st uh hopefully other states uh as well um so there's growth in the new States and then also new business in existing States we've just signed a couple deals for instance in Nevada they're hoping to get live by the end of the year uh and then new you know a new Ventures that our customers get into in various places present additional opportunities for us sure sure uh any states that aren't uh that aren't yet opening up that you think will be opening up in the next year you guys have your eyes on next year yeah or next year the next legislative cycle yeah um you know there's quite a bit of chat around Missouri we'll see what happens it's always you know so hard to predict right you look what happened in California with hundreds of millions of dollars spent and you know it was you know some degree of pessimism around the the uh the uh initiative and then and the vote coming up so you never really know um and and I've kind of seen that over time that states you think are going to get done don't get done and states that you think are dead you know miraculously come back to life California has been closely watched do you uh and what are you predicting is going to happen next month well I mean you know oh everything you everything I've been reading is obviously pretty uh pretty negative on it um but you know you never know right you just never know um we'll see what the voters say right ultimately it's up to the voters to decide and and they'll have their say uh you know in the next month or so absolutely well Joe Asher thank you so much for speaking with gaming America today yeah thank you thank you
