Guide to Airline Crew Interview Process

hi you guys and welcome back to my channel it's been a while that I have come back and posted anything for you all but my DMs are getting flooded with all the requests that have been coming up lately for interview process and what requirements what not scars this and that although I have made like already two videos onad requirements and the uh and the interview process and stuff like that but okay I'm going to EXP explain everything in detail today again starting from your application till your arrival in Abu Dhabi and I'm going to split this video in two parts so your arrival will go on the second part and your interview will go on the first part of the video so without any delay let's jump into the video okay so first things first the first time that you apply and now they have changed the process so they're going to do a interview video interview before you come in for one-on-one especially in India for people who are living abroad they I think only go through the video video interview process and then they join straight away but for us Indians they still have uh a video interview going on so first you will go Toad's career page and apply for the job and when you get the rward that okay you can submit the video interview here go ahead submit your video interview and if you're not sure how to clear your video interview or what they're going to ask you I made a separate video previously go ahead to my channel and watch that and I hope you like it after your video interview is clear it's going to take almost from a month to 6 7 8 months as well maximum can take that much time so you have to start apply once you get are done with your video interview and then you wait either they're going to send you a rejection email or they're going to let you know that okay you're going to the next part of your interview process and once they send you that email that's how the one-on-one interview is going to happen so what should you expect on the day of your interview so basically the first day I'm not sure currently ifad is anymore going to do the CV drop but I am sharing what I did you should be ready for both the things if you get done with your interview in one day it's amazing if not then this is what is going to happen so basically when you go the first day you're going to do a CV drop just say hi or have a casual small conversation with the interviewer and that's going to be it that's what happened with me so I went on day one did my CV drop and then came back and by I think afternoon they replied us uh with an email stating all of the people that's going to be there and they cleared that's going to be there on the second day of the interview and they shared us the venue the timing what to wear so I will just let you know what to wear basically you're supposed to be there in a formal skirt should be KNE length it should not be short and a formal shirt if it's full sleeve good if it's half sleeve that good good as well I would recommend that wear a half sleeve with a jacket because when they do the scar test uh they do a random scar check but for that you shouldn't you have to fold your shirt basically although personally me I did go with a full shirt so it's not going to be an issue it's okay you can go ahead with a shirt and you can just fold your sleeves when you're going in front of the interviewer okay after this when you go ahead the second day the first thing that's going to happen is you're going to all wait outside basically inside the venue but outside of the interview room and then they're going to call everyone inside start segregating all of you in groups of five or six so we had uh four interviewers that day four or five I think I'm conf I'm I'm confused I think we had five or four so basically they're going to segregate all of you in groups of five or six and each of you your group will go to one interviewer where you will start the GD process now GD they will give you Q cards where there will be a situation or a topic that you have to talk about there's no time limit in that discussion so don't rush and get get done with all your ideas keep your ideas speak slowly but speak smartly speak confidently smile when you're talking make sure you're always smiling you know it shouldn't be a fake smile try like calm down have that peaceful Ur and then speak very confidently take deep breaths take pauses when you speak and also please do not cut someone else when someone else is speaking you know just don't go ahead and jump to other conversations and then try to give your ideas like push your ideas show the other person that okay you're you work well in a group the idea about group discussion is basically that you have to show them that okay you can work amazing in a group because in aviation you have to work as a team when I go for my flights here inad where a team of 12 people 15 people 10 people five people depends on which aircraft you're flying that day and it's a lot of CH there's a lot of challenges basically when you're working in a team everyone has their own ideas everyone has their own way of talking language barriers so you they that's what they want to see basically in the interview that okay when you come on board you're going to blend in with my team and you're going to work in work good with my team okay so once you're done with your group discussion you're all going to leave that room again and I think it's also the part of group discussion yeah uh so when you're in the group discussion they're going to also go ahead and check your height so each one of you IAD currently has a height limit of 160 cm anyone below the 160 cm um line is going to definitely get rejected after the GD is done because that's what they did with all of the girls that were give girls and guys that were giving interview with me so once you all are done with your height and GD you all will exit again then after when everyone is done with the interview it's going to take like an hour 2 hours 3 hours depending on how many people are there then everyone is going to come back into the auditorium again and they're going to make you all sit there they're going to start taking the numbers so basically all of you will have a number chat here when whenever you go for interview they're going to give you an applicant ID and that applicant ID will be used throughout your recruitment process you you can't forget and you can't lose your applicant ID especially on the day of your interview so they'll give you like a slip thingy and you have to put put it here or like stick it somewhere so they can see which applicant number you are and then once they start taking applicant numbers basically they're segregating the ones who got accepted and the ones who got rejected so the ones who get accepted mostly stay inside the auditorium that's what happened with me and the rest who get rejected they take them outside and tell them okay try next time better luck next time it's okay to also not clear in your first goad is currently hiring worldwide so don't be in a rush that it's the end of the world oh my God or if you don't go through aad okay try somewhere else it's not the end of the world in aviation you know I personally didn't go through two or three Airlines before I joined itad and it's I'm to be honest I'm very happy that I didn't go through their interview because I feel like itad is where I belonged and I feel truly blessed to work here okay I'm tired of speaking now that you're done with your GD and they segregated the ones who lost or the ones who cleared whatever they're going to go ahead with the second step of the interview also in between they ask you for a full-size photo and um passport size photo it has to be taken from a phone camera it doesn't have to be professionally taken or printed they're going to give you this instruction way before your interview like maybe a day before something like that so I think e the evening that they send you that okay you are selected you have to come for the second round is when they also tell you that we need these two pictures so if you haven't taken them already I think now is going to be your time where you will take this professional uh fulls size photo and then a passport size photo and then you're going to share this uh over the link or the email that they give you over there once you're done with this again all of you will start going out and they will start calling you one by one so this is what happens after this basically you go for a one-on-one round with the recruiter itself once your turn comes to meet the recruiter they're going to again Ask ask you something like they will either so for me she asked me like a few questions uh why this why la la la and then she she gave me like something to talk about like tell me uh a moment where you uh did an excellent customer service something like this was my topic and then I spoke about it for like a minute or or a minute and a half and then she stopped me herself she was like okay thank you so much and then she asked me to like uh show me your hand hands and she looked at my feet just from a distance so she basically just checked my scars say and then she was like yeah okay uh thank you so much and then you can go out and wait for the results so basically after this we were done so you just have to go back home after this they will let you know basically if you're if they change the process they will let you know that either they will ask you to do one more round or you can just go back home if you can go back home they will let you know that okay you can now leave and we will tell you the results over the email all the best and tell them thank you be professional when you're speaking with the recruiter guys sit straight sit in a professional sitting position be very professional smile greet them uh be confident when you speak with them talk like you know what you're speaking don't be like uh uh uh stuff like that you know don't fumble and also don't mug up your answers like don't just read something on the Internet memorize it and go and speak in front of the recruiter Aviation is not a job where you have to do your uh uh debate speeches and stuff like that you know you don't have a topic that you have to speak on on board you have to just have conversations with people your crew member that's what they want to check how confident are you to handle situation on board and that's what the the interviews all about so when you're done with the interview you go back home and they don't send you any reply for a good amount of like 10 15 20 days or maybe a month for me almost it took them like 15 or 12 days to revert and I think after 10 or 12 days I got a rever that congratulations you're on the next part of your interview process yay so then they sent me an email where I was supposed to do the English test and they sent me an email stating okay now you have to finish the English English assessment and here are the guidelines for the English assessment this is what you have to do this is what you have to do they will tell you everything how much time will you have to finish the assessment how many questions stuff like that guys English assessment I will make a separate video on it how to Ace it because it's very tricky so just stay tuned I'm going to post a video very soon on that because that's where most of the crew couldn't clear it's Kat English test is very easy very easy it's a piece of cake but at it's a bit complicated like when I was giving it I have also given the Q Airways assessment and I felt like it's just blah it's just a piece of cake all qar cares about his beautiful looking skin people and stuff like that but the English test was quite complicated and you have to take your time you have to think what you're talking they basically check your language proficiency really well once you submit your English examination now it's going to be a long wait it might take take you a month it might take you 2 months 3 months so it might take you 5 days depends on the requirements itad solely hires according to their requirements if they need crew right now they're going to expedite your process like crazy and they're going to call you to abudhabi like within 2 months of your hiring but if they don't need you currently they're going to put your file on hold they will tell you okay you're selected good you did everything now you have to do your Visa documenation so once you do your English assessment when you get your uh reward back from them that congratulations you are all ready to be the part of onboarding process you're already ready to be a part of EAD family so they're going to send you an onboarding email it will have a detailed version of what documents they need from you what they need you to do what photographs they need from you everything basically they need stuff for your visa and your arrival into Abu Dhabi your basic documentation your work experience stuff like that they're going to ask you whatever they need depends on your file whatever they want from you make sure whatever they ask you give them within that deadline and give them exactly what they ask for like if they gave you a guideline for a photo that they want a passport side photograph with white background make sure it's white background please don't go ahead do a blue background don't wear stupid clothes and do uh photographs everything should be professional guys once you want to be a cabin crew professionalism starts from the day of the interview you have to be on point from day one okay so once you're done with this onboarding process and you submit your documentation you're going to get your visa when you get your temporary Visa they will tell you okay now this is your date of joining and are you ready to join yes or no so personally for me I wasn't ready when they gave me my first joining so I was supposed to join on 11th of December and I had a lot of things to wind up back in my home so I decided to ask them for more time like could you please give me another deadline if you have if not then of course I had to do do whatever I had to do and I had to join because I couldn't could not say no to them after going through all of this and I couldn't just tell them that oh no I don't want to join anymore no so I was like is there any possibility that I could get another joining date please so they gave me an alternative they said okay you can join on 25th of December but you're going to arrive in Abu Dhabi on 22nd of December I was like well good good enough so then when they sent me that email that okay you're going to arrive in 20 on 22nd they shared me my Visa temporary visa and everything arrival like how you're going to reach which flight they're going to give you a flight they're going to tell you what's the luggage allowance they're going to give you the itenary and mostly uhad you guys are going to have a good experience because they will give you an upgradeable seat so basically if it's it's a confirmed P&R and if uh your flight isn't full that day you can upgrade yourself from economy to business class for free that's what was the best part about my journey from India to Abu Dhabi because I could upgrade myself I enjoyed the business class perks I was actually very exhausted so I just ate something and slept but it was such a good feeling to you know be in business class for the first time in your life because me personally I hadn't experienced it so when I got my documentation and everything I went home I packed my stuff I packed my essentials everything I was all set and then on 22nd I reached Kolkata and I was supposed to have my flight from Kolkata to Abu Dhabi and when I was boarding my flight I was so so so emotional and excited because emotional because I was looking forward to doing this like for years like I wished I could join I wished I could leave my current position and join anad and you know live the life of my dreams live abroad see the lifestyle that International cabin cre have it was such a blessing to have that feeling that day and with this I'm going to end the first part of this video guys if you want to see what all details you have to uh follow when you're arrive in Abu Dhabi or whatever you need for your arrival in Abu Dhabi go ahead and watch the second part I will see you in the next one make sure you subscribe to my YouTube channel hit the like button because I make a
