on facebook and also be here with us in the house of the lord i'm just grateful and thankful for god's people for what he's doing in your lives and in our lives personally we serve a good god his grace is sufficient for us amen and his goodness and faithfulness endures to us to all generations to god be the glory to god be the glory so we're going to go ahead and jump right in with our text this morning from mark 11 25 mark 11 verse 25 and it says and whenever you stand praying if you have anything against anyone forgive him that your father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses but if you do not forgive neither will your father in heaven forgive your trespasses father we enter into your gates with thanksgiving in our hearts we're grateful and thankful for today this is your day we find reasons to rejoice so much to be thankful and grateful for and always living on the west coast and in this uh fair weather climate we just thank you for the ability to go and come and we're not we don't we're not faced with severe weather storms and all of that and we know your grace is sufficient for those in those demographic areas but we can be thankful for that we always have something to be thankful for we we have our health we have the activity of our limbs we were able to be here you saved us hallelujah if we if we got all those other things going wrong for us you saved us you sanctified as you feel we're in that process of sanctification you fill this with your spirit we always have something to be thankful for i pray that you will remind us of that that the enemy won't come in and try to get us into a place of self-pity and sorrow because things aren't going our way we always have something to be thankful for so we purpose in our hearts whenever we come before you just to say thank you because you are a good god and we love you we appreciate you we ask your anointing rest upon us as we teach and then our ears be open to hear what you're saying to us not just so that we would hear it but we will purpose to do it and our lives will be the better for and we won't neglect to give you all the praise glory and the honor in the name of jesus amen amen and amen to god be the glory to god be the glory well his grace has been sufficient this is the first day of the new year of 2022 we're grateful and thankful today is february 1st wow happy birthday to all our february birthdays god bless you happy birthday to god be the glory i'm just so delighted man we're still here hallelujah this is what god is he's doing he's moving and we are truly thankful and grateful our mantra is so powerful so powerful and i'm telling you i can't even allow the enemy i'm not i can't even if i tried i'm not giving him no more wiggle room in my life oh glory to god cause we got work to do in 2022 we can't be hindered or hampered by the enemy coming in and trying to frustrate us and all of that but because we have work to do so here we are we have work to do in 2022 i'm so excited about it and thinking about the things that god is going to accomplish through my life and through your lives the enemy sometimes wants us to feel stagnant and stalemated but i want you this year to be thinking about man god what do you want me to do what's my purpose i'm passionate about this listen if you just passionate about your shoestrings believe god for a shoestring business i don't care what it is because we have work to do so we have work to do and if we keep our minds in that in that mold and i'm telling you even today being february 1st is love month we got work to do wives amen so i said okay okay help me holy ghost i'm excited about this month an opportunity to show extra love to my spouse and not only to my spouse but to our beloved members my children because we have work to do i'm telling you we can't say we bored around here because there's always something to do so let us be attentive to that how can i show love i i heard in the spirit almost well i'm not married you don't have to be married to show love amen you don't have to be married to show love this is love month so ask god for an opportunity of how you can show and display his extravagant love to someone else other than yourself oh glory to god oh glory to god so last weekend last week love month love speak since we're saying using that word love we talked about a sinner's love the topic alone gets our attention the topic alone it it just puts me in a place i'm like man i don't want center and love putting the same sentence but that's what we talked about a sinner's love and and for me i want god to daily teach me how to not love like that how to not love like a sinner loves amen how to not love people who just love me it's so easy to love people that you like arthur it's just easy to love people you don't like it doesn't take any extra effort or energy but that's a sinner's love we want to function in the agape love of god always giving above personal expectations and it seems difficult and really in the natural it is but we can't love like god because we have the holy spirit that is upon us and in us amen amen and to god be the glory so god wants us to love like he loves and he'll teach us if we allow him and if we purpose to learn to love like that i'm telling you you'll learn and i'm the type of person i i can teach myself how to do something you give me some good instructions i can teach myself how to do it and that's why we love youtube and all these things we have available to us in this day and age because we can teach ourselves so we can t if i can teach myself how to how to bake a cake then i can teach myself i can learn how to love like god amen if i can learn to bake cookies i can learn to love like god hallelujah so we're going to continue we're going to continue to in this vein of love and forgiveness which i i tell you dr poole and i were talking on the way home yesterday and um i mean it's like man i this is just such a sister steward is such an issue in the body of christ this topic of of unforgiveness and and i said and we we so we talked about it a little bit we talked about it some more this morning and we're going to talk about it actually we're going to talk about it this week forgive and forgive but next week here it is you wanted to know i know i know especially my silvers they want to know what i'm going to be teaching about in in next year but we ain't that far out amen so let's just stick with next week and so we're going to look at in the daylight devotional we're going to look at i said i'm sorry that's the name of it that's the title i said i said i was sorry don't we do that sometimes brother glenn you know somebody do something to you you say i said i was sorry well we're going to look at that and then really this our topic today is going to segue hopefully i finished dr poole asked me was i going to be able to do this in one so if not we'll go into two then so we'll have a part two and then we're going to say we're going to talk about i said i was sorry said we're sorry yeah that's the name of the it's in there i said i was sorry to god be the glory so our topic for today is forgiven forgive forgiven forgiven love and forgiveness is not uh it's not it's often it's not conceivable we find it difficult deaconess oh dead a difficult concept to grasp to really forgive people not that we like but the people that we don't like or people that have offended us sister martha we but we have to learn how to love like god and because we've been forgiven we should freely be able to forgive and and so it's it may seem inconceivable but it is achievable we are able to love like god as we purpose to fix our hearts and minds on him and how he loves and forgives us that always kind of brings it back to reality to me but but because i need god and i i'm very aware of my humanity i think there there are times that i've heard of times when people get together and you know you just kind of sit around and talk about you know well well you're this and well you're that well your eyebrows are crooked well your toes are cruel listen i don't need nobody telling me was crooked broken and twisted in me i already know what it is and i'm very well with the aware of that but every morning he gives me brand new mercies and he loves me anyway in spite of my crooked eyebrows and crooked toes oh glory to god and so when it when that's on the table it gives me a different perspective and so because unforgiveness is such a challenge we have to ask the holy ghost to help us with our want to say my want to because we all know we should forgive everybody knows that everybody in here we all know that we should forgive but how many of us have a child have had challenges forgiving folk and everybody else said amen but hey hallelujah the holy ghost help my want to because i want to stand before god and be pleasing isn't that what we ultimately want so our topic for give and forgive our text oh good god almighty our text our text mark 11 25 let's look at it in the message translation and when you assume the posture of prayer remember that it's not all asking if you have anything against someone forgive only then will your heavenly father be inclined to also wipe your slate clean of sins verse 26 is is not is or this one doesn't have one okay so we're going to talk about that in a minute let me see that in the passion translation it says and whenever you stand praying if you find that you carry something in your heart against another person if you find that you carry something in your heart against another person release him say release him release him and forgive him so that your father in heaven will also release you and forgive you of your faults but if you will not release forgiveness if you will not release forgiveness don't expect your father in heaven to release you from your misdeeds now i'm telling you if we would just read our bibles we just walk up oh i'm sorry you're just walking who i'm sorry oh i'm sorry oh you just because listen i need forgiveness and we all understand that we personally need it but if we understand how much we personally need it we should better and more freely give it we have to release people the voice translation says it this way when you pray if you remember anyone who has wronged you they don't think on that too long because we can think of people who've wronged us but it gives us the instruction if you remember anyone who has wronged you forgive him so that god above can also forgive you if you don't forgive others don't expect god's forgiveness now i tell you what i love it when the bible is clear i love it when i have to get a dictionary i don't need a concordance i don't need to ask nobody i don't need to call mother grandmother you've been in church all your life what's it mean it tells you if you don't forgive others don't expect god to forgive you simple simple but we all are challenged in this area but i say oh but thanks be to god we got work to do in 2022 and i'm so excited god is dealing with our hearts and challenging us because in order for the great revival to take place and in order for him to use us he's preparing us because people are coming down the aisles and he's using us to prepare people to show forth his love oh glory to god so our text leads us into our teaching we started out this year learned to take a hit parts one and two and then last week we looked at a sinner's love and here we are today talking about forgive and forgive and so forgive i mean forgive i mean the command still stands forgive say forgive now i want to present you with three types of forgiveness now i don't have time all while i was pulling this together this morning mel and i kept saying i don't have time this is this is like a almost like a year-long series that we could really get into but but i'm going to do my best to cover what needs to be covered today and depending on where i'm at i may push the rest of it but because i need you all to understand this because the bible says if you don't forgive others don't expect god's forgiveness it talks but if i don't you know because if someone is wrong me i should forgive and i should be able to forgive because god has forgiven me but that should prompt your mind to think well wait a minute i thought i was already forgiven jesus has for i mean i mean mother don it should so i i i was wondering as i was reading that if that prompted something in any of your all's minds to think well wait a minute what really is this verse saying to me what is this verse teaching me so let's look at and again i'm gonna say it and i'll give i'll leave it to you to do the further study three types of forgiveness and they're important number one jurisdictional jurisdictional jurisdictional j-u-r-i-s no i'm sorry take it back scratch erase justificational justification i had to make up a word uh it's probably a word but this this is you're going to understand it in a minute justification or justification with an al on the end yes i made the word up but you know it'll make sense in a minute justificational number one unilateral and transactional three types of forgiveness justificational unilateral and transactional now this justificational forgiveness go to romans 5 verse 1. i always like to have scripture a lot of times god will give me points but i don't i don't have the scripture that comes sometimes the the scripture comes after the point but i get the point but i want to be able to relate things back to the scriptures if i'm going to make up a word i need to at least need a scripture to back up my mind the meaning of my word therefore having been justified by faith there's that word justificational forgiveness being justified that we're justified by faith we have peace with god through our lord jesus christ therefore have we are justified by faith we are justified by faith so what work does faith involve none there is no work where faith is all we have to do is believe we are saved not because of anything that we've done we are saved because we believe that jesus christ came died and rose again for our sins we are justified because we believe now this word justified which is why i made up a word justification or maybe they'll put it in the dictionary and go before the board of people around the big table in some room and put it in there but just what that what what i want what it's saying to you this word justified it means just it means righteous all of my coming up as a born-again born-again believer it justified just as if i've never sinned when when god looks on my life he sees the blood of jesus because i've accepted what he does what he did for me when he died so justify i'm just i'm righteous it means to recognize or set forth as righteous in right standing with god i'm in right standing in god because of my faith say because of my faith it's a judicial act it's a legal term i've been declared not guilty o glory to god say not guilty not guilty i've been declared not guilty because of what jesus accomplished on the cross of no effort or work on my part other than to believe therefore having been justified by faith he covered my sins he forgave my sins when i came to him if i die and he i've asked him into my heart i'm going and i have a place with him for eternity in eternity justified by faith that is justificational forgiveness when he looks up upon my life he sees the blood of jesus and his blood covers my sins which is what we ask god to forgive us for we ask him to forgive us of our sins but then we have unilateral forgiveness unilateral so automatically this is this is a compound word with this prefix uni which which is one one person unilateral and lateral here so this unilateral forgiveness when you forgive someone who hasn't asked you or you forgive someone who you can't tell or they can't say so in essence in essence if someone has died so if there's some tragic thing has happened in in your life you know so again for example for example this tragic car accident that's happened this whole entire family was killed but also the person that caused the accident was killed and so now the the remaining family are in the position to uh to dispense unilateral forgiveness because the man who killed their family is gone so they can't go to him and say you know i forgive you or he can't come to them and say please forgive me so you when you forgive someone who cannot now because they're dead and gone so you you know something happened in your past your uncle somebody you but but you forgive them and release them but unilateral forgiveness also includes what happens when you you want to tell somebody you're sorry but you know they just they not dead but you know they just you don't see them they you know they're you don't either you can't reach them you you you don't have a means of reaching them they're not on social media you don't have the phone number or maybe you're calling calling calling wanting so that's unilateral you you well i tried to forgive him i tried to forgive sheila simons but she wouldn't take my calls or i don't she moved to alaska she don't have a phone i try but that does not absolve us from the responsibility of still saying i forgive her it's unilateral it's dealing with me within it with one person union one person okay then we have transactional forgiveness now what's the root word of transactional transact so what happens when when a transaction takes place what's involved an exchange to people you can't transact with yourself you can't have a dollar in this hand and pay your in your right hand and pay your left hand i mean you don't transact things with yourself amen so a transaction uh we understand melanie it's an exchange between parties so this transactional forgiveness uh you know so okay um you know i mean it can go so many ways but let me just use use mama use two people my mother you know in our in a family unit well transactional forgiveness you know and really i don't even know i want to use her because well i'm sorry mom or mom wait a minute wait wait wait wait wait wait wait you got to be careful how you going to say i'm sorry mom you got to be careful about that or or you know when a fault has happened within a family that's what i'm trying to convey and you go to them you know mom comes to me well you will shilla lalalala and i say well mom please forgive me she says i forgive you and then because the forgiveness transaction has taken place then it's past the ketchup we having hot dogs for dinner has to catch up we got some mustard break out the buns and all is well then we have the transactional forgiveness which is difficult because transactional forgiveness is always the precursor to reestablishing relationship because when an offense has taken place and somebody's been offended a relationship has been breached and so now martha you and i are at us we're transacting we've gone we've had lunch we said them you said you sorry to me i said i'm sorry to you and now we are working on reconciling our relationship a transaction is taking place now we're gonna that's you know what we're gonna talk about and i really think we might take this in the part too because i'm taking my time someday i didn't want to rush but i said i was sorry that can't be the beginning of transactional forgiveness because that has a whole nother connotation upon it and and we're going to talk about that but truly truly when i want martha to know that i love her like god loves and when martha wants me to know that she loves me like god love when the transaction takes place we're able to still have sweet fellowship and we're able to talk to one another and work through whatever has breached the relationship in the first place and which is why i love the marital relationship dr poole and i have been together now today marks the day when our courtship began all those years ago we didn't know it was courtship i mean we heard that word you know we were smart enough in school if we didn't know what it meant you put it in a sentence you figure it out but jeff from february 1st from february 1st to whatever that last sunday before the march 8th came we talked every day and so we were having sweet fellowship and now so this is 30 years later and he's still my best friend 30 years later i didn't got on his nerve a few times and i he and he not vice versa i didn't got on his and he didn't got on mine 30 years in but because we daily we relationally partake of transactional forgiveness you know it's not a deal breaker for our relationship 30 years in well who else what else i'm going to do i gave my life to this man can nobody do me like jesus or dr poole amen jesus first we understand but you understand but we under so but that's why i love the marriage relationship when it's in right standing with god you're able no matter what no matter what we forgive because we're forgiven we forgive because we're forgiven but i needed you to keep those three things in mind justificational forgiveness it's covered under the blood unilateral forgiveness when you don't the other person's not available to to get to work the thing out amen and then transactional a process takes place a transaction takes place in the process of reconciliation because matthew 18 15 it will unilateral forgiveness let me give you the verses we got romans 5 1 justificational unilateral luke 17 4 go back and read them and then matthew 18 15 that's transactional unilateral luke 17 4 and then transactional matthew 18 15 where it says if your brother sins go against them and if you know basically you know you go you um this happened i'm sorry okay i forgive you you know that kind of thing a transaction has taken place amen so now i have for you our points that we're going to talk about for today god gave me letters for each for words for each letter in the word forgive he gave me words to teach from from each letter in the word forgive say forgive forgive f o r g i v e so our first letter is forgive our first letter is f which stands for forgiven forgiven that's our title we're forgiven so we can forgive or forgive and forgive i'm forgiven so i forgive right ephesians 4 32. i'm telling you if we would just live this bible we would have a revival in the land if we would just live the gospel i'm not even talking about carnal christians i'm talking about the spiritual ones if we would just if we would just live this gospel right and be kind to one another have you ever found yourself not being nice to somebody i know nobody in here i know this this the real this the good group just a good group of christians and then that good group of christians you know we count everybody we bump into be kind to one another tender-hearted not hard-hearted tenderhearted forgiving one and don't you love it it's clear y'all need you didn't even explain this verse we know what to do sister rosemary and tell us what to do donut forgiving one another even as god in christ forgave you we've been forgiven we've been forgiven so we must forgive first john 1 9. now remember jurisdictional forgiveness my sins my past really my sinful life is under the blood but because we live in these earth suits we need we need a first john 1 9 in our lives which says if we confess our sins he's faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness i charge you to go back read all of it because some well and and here's the thing if if i if if i live my life mother donna as if to say i've not done anything wrong see you're lying you're sinning already i mean because we all have sinned and fall short but he says if we confess now sometimes we don't realize and that's why we train our children they don't realize what they've done wrong is wrong until you teach them but as adults we know we know we we already know things are wrong but when god arrests our attention about it we don't need to be well uh no father forgive me i and don't just say god i'm sorry because see you if you if you real spiritual you'll hear the holy ghost pastor jim say what you what what for what i'm sorry lord okay well for what all right and every parent well mom i'm sorry for what you're sorry for well cause i lied i cheated on my test whatever it is so we if we confess our sins call it what god says god i had unforgiveness in my heart please forgive me and it says if we would just acknowledge it and say that he's faithful and just to forgive us so again i forgive if i ask him he forgive me so everyone i'm sorry av why you can't forgive me because it said if i confess my sins of god he'll forgive me so if i confess my why can't you forgive me that's that transactional forgiveness but we don't like to do that because it requires a great amount of humility and submission to the holy ghost to be able to do it but we can do it if we confess our sins he's faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness all the things that are bent and twisted he's he's able to aren't you glad that god gives us these verses to live by then it says in psalm 32 5 i acknowledged my sin to you and my iniquity i have not hidden our tendency is to pull a genesis 3 on god and everybody else we realize we try to cover our sins we try to hide when we sin but we can't hide it from god but he loves it when we say and my iniquity i've not hidden i said i will confess my transgressions to the lord and you forgave the iniquity of my sin i'm telling you what like i said that that verse is speaking to me it should speak to us it should speak to all of us because it's saying because it starts with the acknowledgement not of well the reason why i was acting so so ugly with with clary or hot in the voice see you know you could see you you call clarice okay wait no miss clarice at least give her that she old enough to be your mama respected for that you know what a reason why you know i had this thing again see if when i acknowledge what it is to god that's a great starting point for his grace to be implemented into our lives because it's really not against my clarice that i've sinned against ultimately our sin is always against god it's always against god and my iniquity i've not hidden so we got that so we're forgiven we tell god about it we stop trying to cover it up and hide it you know trying to trying to hide from god it's like wearing a glass suit you know like justin walk around and and saran wrapper plastic wrap we can't have that from god i mean you might as well just i mean your whole body he sees your capillaries your arteries your organs there's nothing we can hide from god he made us we can't hide from him he's forgiven us so we can forgive we've been forgiven so we can forgive we've been forgiven the next one oh overcome because we from forgiven we can overcome this is an area it really it it really causes us to uh to uh reevaluate our dependence upon the lord but because we depend upon him we're overcomers i love the bible the bible says in revelations 12 11 and they overcame him who the devil they overcame him and all his all his uh demonic forces and all of that by the blood of the lamb the word of their testimony loving not their life even under death we overcome by the blood of jesus first john 5 4 4 for whatever is born of god do i have anybody born of god in the sound of my voice hallelujah under in it in house and out of the house with whoever is born whatever is born of god overcomes the world and this is a victory that overcomes the world our faith my faith in jesus gives me the ability to overcome anything that comes my way oh glory to god romans 8 37 hallelujah yet in all these things we are more than conquerors what things the things that come against us to call to try to trip us up but we are in all of these things we're more than conquerors well how can you know you're more than a conqueror to your face with something that you need to conquer hallelujah through him not through ourselves we have god i'm telling you oh my oh i i don't yeah you know because some stuff you know you don't need to tell but i'm trying not to tell my business but yet i feel like i can tell the story to tell my business but i'm not going to do that because we we live in these earth suits and we live in situations and circumstances but i'm telling you we're made more than conquerors through the things that we're faced with in our own personal lives and we wake up in the morning after you wipe your tears upset with yourself he says don't worry about that i love you we're gonna work this through together because he loves us we've been forgiven we've been forgiven we've just have been forgiven i can forgive and because i've been forgiven i can overcome where are we we're overcomers we're more than conquerors amen we're more than conquerors so then i want you to are remember and we have selective memory boy and i tell you especially if you are upset with somebody they can live a lifetime of doing excuse me good things for you and you forget all those good things and remember the one foul thing and you make a lit then from the one foul thing you make a litany and really only one thing happened because all these other good things have happened right remember but i need you all to remember this part though for real romans 5 verse 6. i need you to remember this when we're when we're we have an issue with forgiving someone we need to remember this for when we were still without strength in due time christ died for the ungodly you can put you can put the little side in your bible or you know me for when i was still without strength in due time christ died for me for scarcely a righteous man will one die yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die but god demonstrates his own love toward us toward me and while i was oh glory to god in that while we were still sinners he died for us see but you got to make it personal because you know it's us you know somehow you hide behind the s and us and forget that they talk about you too i'm i'm i am a part of us this is if this is us i'm a part of us so i had to walk while i was yet a sinner and that's a very profound thought for me star because when i you know and i thought i was a good center i wasn't a bad sinner i mean i was a good center i mean i ain't killed nobody you know i still well you know i think i i think i have stolen a pen or a pencil or a candy bar from a store to the corner store you know i mean but you know i want to know grand larson see then we try to justify make degrees to our sins but it don't matter because while i was yet sinning he died for me would i even know what it all meant he died for me when he hung on that cross in between those two seasons said father forgive him he was thinking about me before i was even a thought and yet i'm sitting here acting like i can't forgive and we ought to ask them for help because and we're going to talk about that i i got to stay on track i said i was sorry i know i know i know i said i was sorry i said i was sorry we need to remember that while we were yet thinking we weren't even thinking about god but he forgave us i like how one of the one of my uh beloved commentators i really enjoy his teaching uh warren weirsberg he said if we understand deeply how much god has forgiven us and what it costs to provide that forgiveness we will not be so reticent to offer others forgiveness right i like giving big words i like giving deep words because it makes us think when i look up words if it's a easy word that i understand i try to think of a big word to put in its place reticent recalcitrant resistant hard-hearted stiff-necked if we just understood how deeply that god has forgiven us and really you got to ask them deaconess for revelation a revelation and a reminder because i don't believe i'm amongst people who we i mean you all understand it but we just need refresher courses we need reminders to know that's what we remember we need to be reminded of just what happened when he forgave us and the grace which is our g the grace that he bestowed upon us so f is what forgiven oh remember his grace another thing we just remember his grace his grace say his grace romans 3 24 his grace romans 3 24 being justified how how freely what is when it's free is what it's free free free free free free free free free you know the commercial free free free free free doesn't cost you anything but if i give you a penny was it free if we did a transaction star and i said here i i have this for you i want to give it to you but i need a penny so it wasn't free it was cheap and we all can find a penny somewhere i could do a purse dump right now we could come up with what i i'm sure i'm sure some dollars and pennies but that means it wasn't free gifts are free freely it didn't cost anything by his what grace through the redemption that is in jesus christ and i thought dr poole this is such a profound broad topic really uh to try to bring it all and encapsulate it all in one hour it seemed almost you know doing an injustice and in service to the teaching but i just hope i uh create a hunger and thirst for you personally to go back and do your own self uh in inspection examining of your own self to to make sure that i'm not being the wrong way toward god's people and toward god and understand what the scriptures are really because we justified freely grace forgiveness redemption that is in christ oh who am i been redeemed in christ i'm redeemed i'm redeemed he justified my sins just as if i never sinned redemption that is in christ ephesians 2 because of his grace where would i be if not for his grace oh that's a nightmare where would i be without his grace but god who is rich in mercy look at these words when i think of something that's rich i cannot help but to think about german chocolate cake you can't eat german chocolate cake fast if you do you're gonna have heartburn you gotta eat german chocolate cake a bite at a time a little bite you gotta have some milk you got then used in sometimes you can't even finish it you just got to get a half in between the the caramel pecan filling and then you got to come back to it because it's so rich it's so full he's rich think of that he's rich in mercy i don't deserve it but he dispensed it because and he's so rich in mercy not because of just any kind of love but great love that means that's a massive amount of love with which he has loved me and even when i was dead in trespasses made me alive together with christ by grace i have been saved by grace i've been saved and he raised us up together made us sit together in heavenly places in christ jesus that in the age to come here it is he might show the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us in christ jesus for by grace you have been saved through faith not of yourselves it's a gift a gift not of works listen boy i'm telling you it's a good thing because if it was any work that we could put to it we know how to put in the work and then we brag about the work and try to take credit for the work we can't do that this perica pay ephesians 2 8 verses 4 through 8 go back and read it look at how many times you see the word grace look at where you see the word mercy grace with his grace grace is a favor done without expectation of return grace is a favor done i don't expect anything and some people are so gracious some people are that's just their nature to be gracious others have to work at being gracious amen but when you do things without expecting anything of in return absolute free expression of kindness of the loving kindness of god it's an absolutely free expression of the lovingkindness of god to men finding his only motive in the bounty and benevolence of the giving the only motive is god's great love that's his motivation it's him god is his motivation he says all motivation to love us the way that so i'm telling you i'm telling you got to get the devil out our heads because the enemy tried to make you just think you gum on the bottom of a shoe i think i think i heard dr poole said that back in high school you know he was jonesing with somebody and told him that you there was gum on them but it's a bad place to be gum on the first of all gum and then all of us have stepped on gum before and you're trying to scrape it and to think and feel tell somebody that you gum on the bottom of my shoe i'm trying to scrape you off and get rid of you you are not the gum on the bottom of anyone's shoe but if we don't have a revelation of his great love toward us his great grace his rich grace and mercy toward us we are look i don't need nobody else to think i'm gum i'm trying not to think myself is gone i am not gum on the bottom of nobody's shoe i am the daughter of the most high god oh glory to god he has purpose for my life he has provided for my life oh glory he died for my he died that i might live you are not god on the bottom of anyone's shoe but if you understand his grace say his grace his grace it affects our sinfulness because we realize i'm telling you when you're real sister stewart when we really praying like we should and we're really upset with somebody praying we realize wait a minute it ain't even about them it's me wait a minute it's me sister so i know you've experienced it you're like what it's me oh lord it's me i need you hallelujah and you don't reject me so help me lord it affects our sinfulness if he forgives us but then it brings joy and thankfulness so now i'm like oh oh oh i need the lord i can't do this lord jesus i tried it on my own but really all them old hymns you know you didn't heard sung in church they have taken a whole new i need you lord i need you lord right now you know every hour i need we really do and you realize that i realize that when i've had a bad attitude and the problem with the bad attitude mom mother clarice the problem with a bad attitude it just affects everybody around you they ain't asked to be affected by your bad attitude they just walk past you and then they're affected by your bad attitude it's like body odor i did not ask to smell that i did not ask to smell that you know this whole thing you walk in these different people smoking cigarettes i'm like i don't want to smell cigarette smoke but because you got rice i don't it's almost like the right person don't have no rice because you want to be able to smoke i gotta suffer the consequences i gotta but god is so gracious toward us so i realized my great need for him i realized that i don't want my bad attitude to bump to just because i'm i'm having an issue with my revelation of his love i don't want somebody else to bump into my ignorance and now i'm displaying it in a bad i'm like so then i realized i did it then i said god forgive me then he gave me a new chance to get it right then then that's where the joy and the thankfulness comes in because i i guarantee you all those people that died the other day they didn't think they was going to die when they got up in the morning when they got up in the morning they didn't they didn't they wouldn't they didn't have a mind that they wasn't gonna be go to bed that night and then we wake up realizing that our bad attitude affected every person we came in contact with and we still woke up the next morning that ought to bring joy and thankfulness hallelujah and it reminds me just how much i need a savior it reminds me hallelujah how grateful and thankful i am that i am born again blood washed hallelujah i am forgiven and he's given me another opportunity to do it so that fills my heart with great joy and gratitude hallelujah his grace says grace and now that i understand grace a little bit now i can intercede because our text says when you stand praying forgive and if i don't when if i don't forgive i can't so forgiveness messes with my prayer life so it's not like it's almost as if when soon as god showed me i've died you just for as if i repent on the spot don't wait till prayer because you know my i need the channels open i need my channels open so i always want to just if he shows me father forgive me help me holy ghost so that i can i intercede intercede say intercede intercede we have our instructions matthew 5 44. but i say to you love your enemies bless those that curse you do good to those who hate you and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you i need you all to remember that because today oh boy i'm telling you what this such a great day people are here bible study y'all all smiling at me underneath their masks and everything and you know as soon as you walk out that door some i don't know i don't know who gonna do it or how it's gonna happen but i just wanna know you're gonna pray for them because they persecuted you are you gonna hold on to it for a while and somebody will or because again if you bump into somebody spiritual and they ask you are you praying why i am praying well now i got to pray for you then i got to hold my hope i'm being spiritual because now i'm bothered with you coming to me with attitude it's a whole domino effect kind of thing but it tells us it gives us the instruction pray for the and i'm we're all guilt i've been guilty of this or praying from a place of trying to justify my own broken heart that's not what that scripture says it says pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you you've got to intercede now this word pray that's why we got to dig a little bit deeper we have to become students in our own right and we have to ask for a spirit of inquisition to come upon us so that we don't just take words for what they mean especially in the bible this word pray this word pray in the greek is in the present imperative active tense present imperative active what in the world does that mean what connotation does that have upon my life now a lot of times if we don't know it and i knew it but then when i went back and looked at it again i said oh present imperative active voice now it should kind of tell you just from saying the word that's why reading is fundamental and why you needed to get an a in reading comprehension because they tell you how to comprehend the words and understand the context of the word sometimes you didn't know what the word meant but based upon the sentence structure you could figure it out so present imperative act of this word pray that's the tense it's in and it tells me this present imperative active connotes a command not a suggestion of continuous action continual habitual continually habitually following this command to pray for those who spitefully use us and persecute us this present imperative active is often a call to a long-term commitment attitude or action for a way of life this is how we live this isn't something i'm a pray for you i've had a situation years ago years let's see it had to be maybe maybe five six seven years ago it's been a while star and the situation happened and this individual was so bothered with me and i was so bothered with them we're on the phone we trying to hash this thing out well you know we got the edge on it and and sharp y'all know how you trying to work it out and it's just it's hard to work through elders hill cause i'm trying to tell you but i'm mad at you and so there's no grace in my voice there was no grace well well i said well well let's just pray well we can pray i was like man oh man i'll shove it i'm trying to work this thing out but this person and when we hung up the phone i prayed they prayed but i haven't spoken to that individual on the phone since that day pray for those had to be in the same room with the individual years later and i knew that thing still was broke but we prayed we prayed that's why we got to be praying prayer has to be a lifestyle and we have to be such men and women of god brother glenn because we're talking to people who are offended we're talking to people amongst us who have had arthur things that we need to say well are you praying for okay well have you prayed for glenn when somebody coming to you telling how glenn is and glenn that and how glenn done did this and glenn then done that arthur you need to say somewhere be spiritual and say well did you pray for the man of god why you said we already know the answer but we need to be spiritual enough to arrest people's attention since the steward and say well did you pray and then but we already know that well no well we well we can't we we need to stop this conversation you need to go home and pray we need to make our prayers why you think we're teaching these things we need to make our prayers by what makes us pray and if you're offended and someone has hurt your feelings i get it i get it i promise i am pleased i need to say this i need to say this don't i'm not making light lower little of whatever incident has occurred but i'm still saying we are obligated regardless of the incident to obey the scripture because it's present in period of tense it is a command first and foremost pray love bless do good and pray those are commands they're not suggestions we need to pray it needs to be a lifestyle praying for your enemies is not a one-time event it's an act of intercession and i asked god i said well when can i stop praying for him well it was easy for me because i do believe there will come a time when god will release you from covering different individuals in prayer but if every time i still mention sally and my you know somebody meant that you mentioned a name and you know your heart rate on your fitbit go from 60 to 80 at the mention of a name your stomach yo i know y'all know what i'm talking about you mention the name your stomach do that flip-flop thing you know and then depending on how often they mention the name you know then you know you don't want to eat because your stomach is such a knot and just upset you feel they'd have made you sick to your stomach oh you need to keep praying your intercession isn't over yet and i told god i said i don't want the mention of a name to upset me i don't want the mention of a name to throw my entire day in turmoil i don't want the mention and not look not somebody just mentioning the name to me sister rosemary but me mentioning their name there was a name in my headspace over the last couple days and and i purpose not to let that name come out of my mouth because i thought well it's not true noble just pure level of a good report if i say what i want to say about what this i said then i'm just not going to say it i'm not even going to put it in the and i'm telling you what i had peace in my heart i was so grateful because i'm just a learning way for me too we all learn i don't care how long you been doing it i think my mom is the oldest one in here she's still learning we're all still learning if we've come to where we arrived jesus come back and get me then that's why the bible tells us in ephesians 6 18 in the voice translation pray always pray in the spirit pray about everything in every way that you know how and keeping all this in mind pray on behalf of god's people pray on behalf of god's people the message translation says pray for your brothers and sisters and no one falls behind or drops out keep on praying feverishly and be on the lookout until evil has been stayed pray always you bother with somebody are you praying for them every day like that yes their name calling their names before the lord and not just i well i am no none because see you still you you not done praying obviously yet if you still got you know ugly faces and things happening with your neck going on you still need to keep praying we still need to keep praying we still say i still need to keep praying so we are going to carry over to next week to god be the glory but let us recap and go back so we can be uh have these things we talked about the three types of forgiveness so keep those things in mind and then for this this acronym for forgive we talked about forgiving which is our title we're forgiven so we it should be i want it to be mama pat i want it to be a natural reflex that because i'm forgiving i just forgive i just i mean it's just because it's a it's a reflex you know you're sitting at the doctor you know when you're a kid or whatever and they take that little rubber thing and hit your knee and it's just a reflex you know you i wanted i want a reflexive in my life to to just forgive people just reflectively and instinctively and intuitively forgive to overcome we've overcome we can we can do it we can overcome this thing called unforgiveness because of the scriptures revelations 12 11 first john 5 4 romans 8 37 we can't overcome we overcome by the blood of the lamb the word of our testimony loving not our lives even under death we have not a great high priest who does not sympathize with our weaknesses who was yet at all points tempted but yet without sin we can go to him we can go before the throne of grace and receive mercy and find help say help lord he'll help us he'll help us deaconess he'll help us to forgive and love like he does so that we can remember isn't it interesting how you remember what you need to forget and forget what you need to remember isn't that interesting i mean we forget the good things that's why parenting is it never stops you know and some people are just so bothered with their parents but whatever and some i mean you know i get it i get it some parents have abandoned their children some parents have done but you know i'm talking about the the the regulars you know because all of us is dysfunctional we've all come from some form of dysfunction but our parents did the best with what they could with what they had they provided a roof for us amen they whooped us when we should have been whooped they weren't abusing us we needed a whooping they did that for us they put clothes on our back they didn't ask us for anything in return but then one thing that they do and then you can't forgive them we need to be listen and now that i'm a parent i'm okay it's making more sense it's like the frequency is coming in clearer and clearer so that i can remember how much he loved me so i can love i can remember that while i was without strength a wretched sinner he died for me while i was laying up giving up doing all kind of of despicable things he died for me when i wasn't thinking about him i want to remember that i don't want to forget that okay you don't have this that or the other but i want to always remember his great love and mercy toward me how much i've been forgiven so that i can forgive that i can not only receive his grace what dispenses grace i'm telling you this is some profound topics of of study and discussion that if we would just go back over i mean i've given us a lot to really just keep us occupied to not so much oh and yup and i know and and they nah examine my own self to make sure i'm doing these things to make sure because god is god has equipped me to be an intercessor so i can pray for my enemies it's my lifestyle it's a part of my lifestyle i'm an intercessor people are wondering what am i called to do listen one of our callings corporately is to be intercessors not that you got to have an intercession ministry but i'm telling you what he's calling me as an intercessor he said it's impossible that offenses should come he's calling me as an intercessor because how do you know that person that you're sore bothered with that your intercession isn't there they're covering in between or the bridge between them between life and death because you covered them in prayer their car you know their car missed the ditch or because you covered them in intercession they weren't in the bank that got robbed and people got killed because of your intercession you know you something because you was in a seating form and wasn't being mad with them you we don't know how effective so i'm telling you we we all got the ministry of intercession because as long as we're it's impossible that offensive should come somebody's going to offend us somewhere along the way well we got work to do i don't know listen don't if somebody asks you from here on out well amy what are you called to do well i don't know but i know one of the things i'm an intercessor i don't know i but i know one thing mel i don't know but i'm an intercessor he's called me as an intercessor i'm an intercessor say i'm an intercessor he's called us all to it if if offenses are going to come he's called me to intercede for my offender and i thank god cause somebody's in a seating for me lest i think that my loves little stuff don't offend somebody somebody is interceding for me hallelujah so i just thank the lord and i'm asking father that you would give us a heart that forgives and teaches how to walk in love no matter what has happened you forgave us so we can forgive we realize that we've held on to some hurts but today we ask that you help us to release them and let them go i pray that these points will not just be points but that we will go back and and ponder and pause and pay attention to what your spirit is trying to teach us and not that we would just hear it but that we would do it and we'll be blessed in our doing as we take our time to look into the perfect law of liberty and carefully do that which is written in it you will bless our works you'll bless the things that we've purposed to put our hands to to bring you glory and now as we go from this place and not your presence we pray that you would cover and keep us and protect us and until we come back again should you tarry your return we'll finish this so that we can further learn that forgiven forgive in the name of jesus amen amen to god be the glory to god be the glory to god be the glory i'm gonna hold off on our questions because the questions cover all all of the points so but god gave you a lot to go back and study and prepare for for next week so next week forgive and forgive part two and the following week i said i was sorry amen to god be the glory god bless you thank you for being with us and we trust that you've been blessed and look forward to seeing you not just next tuesday but tomorrow night at 7 pm when dr poole will continue ministering to us from the word of god god bless you we love you and remember
