Steps in Creating Clay Trays

2. Choosing a Mold

   • Use the lid of a cosmetic bottle as a mold.
   • Cut the bottom design along the drawn lines.

3. Preparing Clay

   • Use water to help stick clay pieces together.
   • Soak clay for about 30 minutes for easier manipulation.
   • Avoid using too much water to prevent cracking.

4. Rolling and Cutting Clay

   • Utilize an empty cosmetic bottle as a rolling pin.
   • Spread the clay to desired thickness and cut using a knife.
   • Aim for flat, angled tops instead of rounded sides.

5. Assembling the Tray

   • Use soaked clay as glue to connect pieces and fill gaps.
   • Handwork may be more effective for filling and smoothing surfaces.
   • Create a slight opening to account for clay shrinkage during drying.

6. Drying Process

Finalizing the Tray
