DIY Clay Tray Making Guide

Preview Start! Hello, I'm Mond. :) I finally got Daiso clay, which was sold out. I've been making clay trays myself. Before I made it, I used my iPad to figure it out. I'm going to make it feel like the area is divided into two. I'm going to draw a bottom design for the size I want. We can't make it completely sophisticated with clay anyway. I drew it roughly. It's best to find a mold that fits the size of the tray you want. I'm going to make it with the lid of this cosmetic empty bottle. Cut the bottom design along the design line. And you need water to stick clay together or fill in the gaps. I'm gonna melt the clay in here and use it. Too much water will make it easier to split later. Use clay soaked in water and clay. It's much easier to fill in space and less cleavage. It takes time for it to melt and soak, so it's better to soak it half an hour before. I used an empty cosmetic bottle as a rolling pin. It's easier to use heavy products such as wooden rolling stock and glass bottles. :) Spread the clay to the desired thickness. I cut it with a knife with the first design I drew. The vinyl on the bottom can be cut off. I think it'd be better to put a knife under the plastic. Usually, the sides are round and long. I want to make it flat and angled on the top. I also shaved it into a regular thickness and cut it into appropriate widths. I think it's better to spread it thinly spread.Bonnie The higher the height, the more fluid it is. I'm gonna use the clay soaked in water to connect it. (It's still a little less swollen, so it's a little stiff.) This completely soaked clay can be used like glue. I'll fill the gap with clay water. After the brush, the floor was dug out little by little, so it was better to do it with hands. You can clean the surface with a brush, but it could be ruined... ๐Ÿ™„ (Don't go...) I've made an incense holder for you to use on a long tray. Please make sure the end doesn't go out of the tray and set the angle. As the clay dries, it may shrink slightly. Please open the hole slightly. Using the clay, my hands are covered with clay. Press the mold down to the bottom completely. It's easier to remove the surrounding area before lifting the mold. Ta-da :) Cleaning the surface with a brush for the angled top. When done, let dry in a cool, shady place for 1-2 days. I let it dry for a day and a half. This tray is filled with soaking clay, and I applied it to the crevice thoroughly. It didn't crack at all, and the joints on the back didn't show. It wasn't cracked at all, but you turned it upside down to dry the back. It's a small support area, and the floor keeps drooping. I don't like the way the floor looks in the original direction. The joint is a little cracked during the process of pressing down on the floor. And the clay is underdone, and the back joint is noticeable. I thought it would be less durable if the joints weren't filled. When I filled the cracks with clay, I also filled in the joints. Fill with soaking clay as well. I used to make only two round ones. I made two more small trays out of the clay left in the process. Fill in the gaps and let it dry for another day. It's finally completely dry. ๐Ÿ˜Š I bought sandpaper from Daiso. Sharpen rough, uneven surfaces thoroughly. There's a lot of powder flying around, so you need a mask and ventilation. I wanted an angled side and stomach, so I trimmed this part with particular care. Plenty of powder... ๐Ÿ˜… A small cleavage can be partially filled with sandpaper. If it's not too much of a split, you can skip the previous procedure. When I shake it off, the powder flies like crazy. The noise I hear now is the sound of an air purifier. I'd like to wipe it off with a wet tissue, but when the water touches it, the clay melts and quickly becomes sticky again. I brushed it off with a brush. It's finally time to paint with acrylic paint. If you run out of paint during painting, it's hard to make exactly the same color. It's good to make a generous amount of it's done. I used this kind of paper to make the coloring dry. These days, they were used very well when splashed paint. I'll just paint the beige background and fry the navy paint. It's all over the top and bottom brushes, and it's all over the place. Big drops don't come out well and brush control was harder than I thought. ........? (NOT STOP SCREEN) I'm trying to complete the navy tray first. We need to minimize the amount of water. It's navy as the background, and the pattern is beige. I try again after covering up the part I didn't like the pattern. Personally, I liked this the best. The other one was orange brown. This time, I'll color it first, and then I'll make a pattern. If you don't like the color, just dry it and paint it over. That's the advantage of acrylic paint. The new paint looks bright, but as the paint dries, the color gets darker. Apply several layers until the stain is removed. Shake brush off cotton swab or toothpick in one hand. This makes large and small patterns naturally. Turn the tray around and pattern the sides thoroughly. It's just a little bit of a painty surface. Finally, the more I got used to the paint concentration and brush control, Pretty patterns are coming out. If you don't like the pattern, you can modify it with a brush or paint it from scratch. Allow to dry completely when coloring is complete. Pretty dry trays, we're almost done. I'm going to apply varnish for the last time. I used matte varnish from Daiso. Apply the varnish as thin as possible. I dropped the varnish directly on the tray and spread it over the large area. Apply thoroughly to sides and back. Daiso varnish is a little sticky, as I've heard. But varnish dries quickly. After applying varnish, it's finally done. ๐Ÿ’™ (Sound of birds celebrating completion...? ๐Ÿฆ) A long type of tray that can be used as a pen tray or as an incense holder This round tray has a wide navy and brown area painted, and I think it's pretty. This one has a color as the background and a beige pattern. The pattern came out really natural and pretty. The incense holder has created a different color scheme between the background and the pattern. They're both pretty on the side that contrasts with the background color. I think Trey is the prettiest when she has accessories. Silver in navy, rose gold in brown. It's even prettier. I like the combination of the two colors navy and brown.๐Ÿ˜Š Thank you for watching today's video.๐Ÿงก Bye!:)
