Understanding Al-Kafaa in Marriage

The second question was concerning al-kafaa in marriage. And al-kafaa with regards to Imam Abu Hanifa is more strict than any other madhhab. All the imams in general are of the opinion that what is considered in al-kafaa, al-kafaa means the qualifications for this person to be qualified to marry from this girl, and to marry into this family. is only one factor which is at-taqwa, Islam and piety. Imam Abu Hanifa has set certain rules where he said al-kafaa mu'tabaratun is considered and should be acted upon in respect of the language, the age in Islam, the family category, in respect of business and wealth and so on. So he says the son of a lower class family is not fit for the daughter of a higher class like a doctor's family for innocence. And he is not making any distinction between people based on that, but he's avoiding the future trouble. So I have mentioned that because the sister is calling from Pakistan in case that this is common in this area. But the correct view that If somebody is proposing to my daughter and this person can put bread on the table and he has a place to live in and he's a practicing Muslim, it doesn't matter whether he is white or black, whether he is an American or Pakistani or Egyptian. It doesn't matter whether his family is long time poor or they were born with a gold spoon in their mouth. That doesn't matter. What matters is at-taqwa. In the hadith, which is judged by many as da'if, إِذَا جَاءَكُمْ مَن تَرْضَوْنَ دِينَهُ وَأَمَانَتَهُ فَزَوْجُوا Whenever somebody proposes to your daughter, whom you trust his religious commitment, his manners, and his amanah, then facilitate this marriage. Give him your daughter in marriage. That is good. And if you don't, then it would lead to corruption on earth and mischief. May Allah guide us to what is best. And in the Messenger of Allah we have the greatest role model, where the Prophet never considered anything other than Islam and piety in giving any of his daughters in marriage, or in marrying himself, or allowing his companions to marry to others, or facilitating that. We know that Abdur-Rahman ibn A'uf, may Allah be pleased with him, he's one of the chieftains, a multi-millionaire, and his sister, Hala bint A'uf, was married to whom? who is married to Bilal ibn Rabah who used to be a slave and Zaid ibn Harithah an ex-slave okay dark skin the prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam gave him his own cousin Zainab bint Jahsh in marriage whom later on she became the prophet's wife one of the mothers of the believers so from day one Islam nullified those differences and Qualifications is based on this person is pious, this person can afford to open a house and to provide for the family.
