this is the number one reason why you're not going to sell your domain name not going to sell it because you don't know this one reason hey Chris psychic media options help companies to acquire the raw version of the brand broken some of the best domains the planet check that out over at mediaoptions.com check out chrissecker.com check out my daily podcast my YouTube channel all that good stuff uh anyways thought for today topic for today is this like this is number one reason you're not going to sell your domain and that is that you don't know who your domain attracts you know so often we have some really good domains that come to us through the options and you know the first thing I say is well hey you know who's this good for right who do you think your your top customers and inevitably it's like Amazon IBM you know it's like the big guy Salesforce all these companies that already have massive brands that already already dominate their space okay they already dominate the um uh the share position for the issue that they're in and I said like nah that's not it like why why would they want this domain right why would they want it anything about the four strategies brand sub brand marketing and defensive in nature why like are they going to start all of a sudden stop doing their brand and create this new sub brand I said that's not like this you look at their history look at how they branded look at how they go to market they're not going to like this is not going to be a brand it's not going to be a sub brand it's not going to be a marketing campaign domain it could be defensive but the defensive in nature most companies are only going to Value domain name at Pennies on the dollar because it's defense okay and by because of the fact that they're never going to use it they're just kind of buying it to holding it and um you know maybe to keep the competition from it it has a very it has a much lower value than someone who's going to use that for a brand or subram now uh not to get confused here okay remember the five buyer types okay the five buyer types first one is the hobbyist now the highest hobbyist and I gotta go back and look at my notes again but in essence it's like that two to three thousand dollars maybe four thousand dollars like that's what they're gonna spend on a domain and you know maybe it's ten dollars whatever they're not really gonna do much with it okay they're buying it and you know it's just the majority of I don't know demand sales that are out there and it's not it's not a bad thing like there's people who make good money okay getting these domain names that are the hobbyists selling them for two thousand to three thousand dollars maybe thirty five hundred dollars and they just do that consistently every single day bye listen the domain that's gonna attract okay um um you know that's okay I gotta make my point right because a quilt like let's see quilt.com like it's gonna check the Hobbies they'd love to have it for three thousand bucks okay but they're never gonna get that okay so I'm saying like understand what who your domain attracts and at what level it attracts if you try to price your domain and let's say it's like some derivative um you know I don't even know like maybe a Milwaukee quilt something right you're like I don't understand it's like no it's not they can get quote.com for that price right um I understand who it attracts that's why most domains aren't going to sell because most owners it's not honest with like what is that domain like who does it really attract okay hobbyist solo entrepreneur um slash local um local okay then you go to Regional National Legacy then you go up to the Bible scale and then you go to your hybrid of entrepreneur those the five buyer types remember the five buyer types mirror with your main strategy and at least you have a plan you have a thought you would you have like you've done there's logic behind why you're pricing your domain in a certain level look it is lodged behind who you're reaching out to if you're reaching out and your domain is like once again it's like this you know Milwaukee quilt design you know code.com or something you know and you're like you understand like you know they need this like this big company needs this like you're wasting your time okay you're just gonna get those negative responses back because it's not the buyer like you have to understand who your buyer is anyways long a little bit long today I was going to try to do this a little shorter but uh click on the link Down Below in case my book my new book um domain namebrokersecrets.com you can go over there and check that out it's going to redirect you over to chriseker.com a page download it just took me two years to do it uh it's a good book also go to I've got a couple good sites uh I got a good page on my Chris I got a site which Dominion value and um I'll leave a link to a media options site as well
