The first Philippine Missions were sent on February 23, 1919. The other Independence Missions are as follows: 1. American Mission 2. Philippine Mission of 1924 3. Osmeña-Roxas and Quezon Mission OSROX MISSION Campaign for Philippine Independence * Aimed for US recognition of Philippine self-government. * Aimed for eventual independence. Important people that lead: * Sergio Osmeña * Manuel L. Roxas Led by Sergio Osmeña and Manuel A. Roxas Resulted in the Hare-Hawes-Cutting Bill Hare-Hawes-Cutting Bill It formed a ten-year independent government which was approved on January 17, 1933. The Philippines would not be awarded independence until its government became stable. People in charge: * Butler hare * Harry Hawes * Bronson Cutting The Philippine lawmakers did not approve of this. Quezon Mission Led by Manuel L. Quezon Resulted in the Tydings-McDuffie Act The following will be carried out in order to get the nation ready: * creation of the Commonwealth's government lasting a decade in acknowledgement of the preparedness and July 4, 1946, as the date of independence. * A meeting to develop a constitution. * Elections within the constitution to ratify it. * Elections under the Constitution to lead the Commonwealth Government. * After the final year of the Commonwealth Government, the Philippines gained recognition as an independent nation on July 4, 1946. Topic 2 Pilipinisasyon - ( or Filipinization ) The government system is one of the many things that Americans have contributed to our country. They taught us how the country's leaders are chosen freely. The Filipino people were eager to achieve the desired level of independence.
