This lesson explains how to form and use the future tense in Spanish, including regular verb endings, examples, and practice sentences.
Introduction to the Future Tense
- In Spanish, the future tense is used to talk about events that will happen.
- The future tense is formed by adding endings to the infinitive form of verbs.
Forming the Future Tense
- Take the infinitive form of the verb (ending in -AR, -ER, or -IR).
- Add the following endings: -é, -ás, -á, -emos, -án.
Regular Verb Examples
- Dormir (to sleep): dormiré, dormirás, dormirá, dormiremos, dormirán.
- Ser (to be): seré, serás, será, seremos, serán.
- Example: Angélica será enfermera en cuatro años. (Angelica will be a nurse in four years.)
