If you're a speaker or you're looking to become a speaker, then this video is for you. Today we're going to talk about how to create a simple but powerful speaker reel. I'm going to take you step by step on how I help my clients create their speaker reels in a very simple form. You just have to go to the free resources tab and subscribe. And I'm not just going to tell you, I'm going to show you. I'm going to show you some of the speaker reels we have done for some of our clients that have actually landed them jobs.
So come with me and I'll show you right now. The first thing in every speaker reel that you must kind of like show your audience is the reason why they should hire you. This is what you lead in with. Why? Because they have thousands of people that they have to check out and it is important for you to put your best foot forward.
Think about it as if you were in their shoes, you know, give them a reason to pay attention to you, right? So I don't recommend that you start with your name, right? I recommend that you start with a strong why, you know, here's what I bring to the table kind of a thing. I'm going to show you a couple of examples that we've done with some of our clients, and then we'll take it from there.
Is that cool? All right. I believe that every person was born with a God-given right to be successful, and that success starts within. And my responsibility as a motivational speaker and life coach is to help them reawaken that success personally and professionally.
So let me show you another example. I am fascinated. by the opportunity of bringing hope into hopelessness, whether it's in a relationship, in adversity, or during a time of loss.
She tells you why, what is her message, right up front, right? Let me show you another example. Are you looking for a speaker on the topics of increasing energy, lowering stress, feeling and functioning at your best? Well, look no further.
So if you notice, each of these people are leading with a reason. They are going forward thinking from the perspective of that other person, that audience. And when I talk about audience, it's not the people who you're going to talk to at the event.
This particular... audience, the one that you're talking to in your speaker reel, are those people that are going to hire you? Are those people that are going to pay for you to go to their business, to speak to their people? Those are your audiences in this precise point in time, right? So let's talk about now the second part in your speaker reel.
Now that they are engaged or hooked with you, now you have a chance to introduce yourself. Okay? So let's look at that. Hi, I'm Dr. Lornica Joseph.
I'm a motivational speaker and life coach. If you're looking for a speaker on the topics of holistic success, faith, and women's empowerment, change, life and love, I got you covered. Now the second step is to introduce yourself and go a little bit deeper onto what is it that you bring?
What kind of topics would you develop? What is it that you will bring to your audience and what are you looking to accomplish? Okay, so let me show you a few examples of that.
I am Dr. Betsy Guerra and I am a bilingual speaker and licensed psychotherapist, but what makes my work special is not the PhD in clinical psychology or the 20 years I've been in practice, but rather the fact that I've experienced excruciating pain when I lost my daughter and I still found the way to joy. I know pain, but what I know most? is how to transform that hurt into hope.
So if you notice, she goes a little bit deeper into that. Let me show you another example. Hi, I'm Dr. Jenna Boffshever.
I am a wellness chiropractor with over 10 years of experience. I believe in the power of the heart. I believe that life is meant to be celebrated free of pain and that true wealth means having good health.
I'm addicted to inspiring people to get more out of life. My keynote topics focus on corporate wellness, how to stress less, and ergonomics in the workplace. So if you notice in this videos, they don't just tell you they also show you they sprinkle on top a little bit of how They look on stage.
I take my audiences on an emotional journey And leave them inspired to take action if you're just starting it is your responsibility to Film yourself. Do it. Hire someone to just go and generate that B-roll. That's what we call B-roll. Just this supportive footage of you being on stage.
It is important that if you want to get paid, it's important that if you want to grow, your speaker business that you're showing those who are willing to invest money on you. How is the experience that you're going to bring to them? Invest a little bit on that. You don't necessarily have to have all this crazy footage because if you film yourself professionally, we can have you just talking on camera, but as you grow your speaker footage, You can sprinkle that footage on top of this, okay?
Let me show you another example. I am about personal and professional development, enthusiasm, joy, change, total wellness, mind, body, and soul. Why? Because I am a true believer that when the body of an organization is not well, the people underperform. But wellness encompasses your mind, it encompasses what you do to your body, It encompasses your relationships.
If you notice in this particular video, she actually gives people a little bit more of a taste of how she sounds on stage. Let's go to the third part of what every speaker reel most have. So what is your promise to that person that is gonna hire you for that event?
I want you to have that in mind when you are creating your speaker reel because that kind of gives you... Some leverage to give them curiosity if you can actually do that, right? So let me show you another example. My promise to you is that I will bring lots of energy and interaction to your event.

In a nutshell, those are the three ingredients that every speaker reel must have. You know, the more elements you have to play with, if you have testimonials, if you have appearances on TV, if you have more samples of your work. Then that's kind of supportive.
That's kind of like the nonverbal that we're showing them, not necessarily telling them. You don't want to go, I have done this and this school and this and that event and this and that. That just becomes really boring. Show them and use your voice to actually tell them the following, why they should hire you, who you are, and a little bit more of what you bring to the table. What kind of topics do you showcase that you have prepared for them?
