A1 Logistics Overview and Operations

Hi everyone, we welcome you to the education video of A1 Logistics company. So this video would be interesting and useful for those who are applying for the position of the sales manager, as well as customer support and the dispatch position as well. So A1 Logistics is part of the BWT group and it has affiliated companies of Move Wheels and True Care.

So most likely, if you start working in our company, you'll be working in one of those companies. So this is the first portion of the video, so you'll have two more portions coming up. And I just encourage you just to take a lot of notes, because what I'm going to tell you in this video is something that you have no previous experience in, and something that would be hard to remember. So I would just suggest you to take as many notes as possible, so then you have at least something to start to learn this material. So...

let's start with the first basics i'm going to show you how the industry works and so you understand the principles of work so in in this business what we do in like we do logistics you probably understand that we relocate vehicles and by vehicles i can we can just tell everything that moves we have wheels i mean not necessarily should have wheels but something that moves and even though it can be just a plain cargo that we might also transport. I mean it's something that we don't do on a regular basis but just to tell you that we can ship pretty much anything. So and in this process in a process of logistics or in a process of transportation there is like I'll say three parties that are involved. So the first one that would be a client we can call also like a customer or shipper so if you feel like if you feel that it says shipper that it means that this is someone who's requesting the transportation.

So the clients, they can be different type of clients. The one that we're working with, they're usually one-time deal. So when they come to us, the transportation they use maybe once or twice in the lifetime.

So it doesn't happen a lot. So that sometimes brings some major disappointment to them. I'll explain later why is that. So...

The second party is a carrier company or we can simply say a driver. So when I say I will just talk to the driver, that means we just refer to the carrier company. Carrier companies usually it's like a very small private loan company, so where the driver he might be the boss for himself, he can be like a mechanic, accountant, the driver, the dispatcher, pretty much everything in one person.

The care company that we're working with, I would say this is approximately 8,000 different care companies. They're all different sizes in the way they do business. And like I said, that probably what brings the disappointment to the client because when the driver, he's the boss for himself and we're just dealing with this person, there's some sort of issue, there's not a single person above him who can affect him, who can just tell him what to do. So if...

if there's some sort of problem and the driver does not want to correspond with that he just don't want to cooperate with us and pretty much there's a very few things how we can just affect him and that's exactly why this disappointment comes so first one it's a client that requested the service only once a lifetime and everybody understands that so there's also carry companies that operate them by themselves with no management above i'm not saying that all of them has no management above but most of them do not have the manager above him or has but just the manager could not affect him significantly and everybody understand that this is a client that i'm going to do only once and then i will just not see him anymore i don't need to provide him a good service because he will not go back to me even though like there will be some um dealerships that we We work on a regular basis, but they are very, very rare. And there might be some clients who ship their vehicles, let's say, once a year or twice a year. So you can consider them as repetitive clients as well.

And there's a third part that is involved in this. This is a broker company, or we can call it a shipping agent or a sales agent. So, I mean, you can just find different variants of that.

So that's something I would say the middleman, so somebody who is... between the client and the care company. We'll just touch base a little bit later about why the care companies do not work directly with clients, but that's...

that's pretty much the three parties that are involved into the process of transportation and i'm not sure in the nearest future there will be like significant changes as that uh so let's move on um i will explain you basically how the industry works itself what uh what's the line and what what it's it's a basic point what's the start point and in the way of the client who wants to ship the vehicle and how he ends up shipping his vehicle. So we say a client and we can just tell that only 30% of the clients who just get to us, they will just become clients. We can say that this is a potential client and 30% is not in our company, but like in general.

So if whether this person will request transportation in our company or in some other companies, Out of 100 clients that would just refer to us, only 30% they will just do the transportation. The rest of them, they just say, hey, just don't want to do this. Like in most cases that might happen. So for example, somebody is buying a vehicle and he's in New York, he found a good deal in Los Angeles, then he requested a quote to transport a vehicle and he just realized that this is too much. And for him it's no need to...

go that far to buy the vehicle and can buy something in a local i mean it could be a little bit more expensive but then he doesn't need to spend money and time for transportation so in our case he'll be just potential client he'll never be a client of any company that do transportation then for example somebody who's uh has a vacation properties let's say he lives in new york and he has a vacation properties in florida so he needs to move his vehicle down to Florida and every time he does that he just requests a quote and he just realizes the price is too high for him or time frames does not work and so he said well I'd just rather drive the vehicle so this client would never become a real client to you so just basically a potential client so that's why only 30% of them will be converted into real deals the rest 70% they're just somebody who's requesting a quote so you need to understand that so what the client does after that so naturally he would just go to google and he would just make some sort of request like how to ship a vehicle vehicle shipping companies how to transport a vehicle from new york to california and stuff like that so the google will give him several resides so he will just end up on a website so and those websites they just give an impression that they are the transportation companies and in fact this website is none of those three parties that i've mentioned previously so it's not a carrier company it's not a broker it's not a client basically this is just i would say lead generation websites so what is that so basically when the client gets to those websites and i say hey we just can help you with transporting the vehicle and all you need just to fill the forms and then we just um give you several options we can give you like 10 different options and the client fills the form and basically he just provides all the information like pick up delivery addresses and stuff like that and then he thinks okay so i just i get some information and so there will be some table where the cheapest would be on top the most expensive company want to be on the bottom and then i can just select based on with the price or the quality of transportation and the reviews of those companies. But what this company does is actually lead generation. So they just get this information and then they pretty much sell this information.

And when they say on those websites, they say you can get from four to 10 different quotes and the quote basically that means the price. So in America, they don't say the price for something that is not confirmed. So like I say, you can tell if you're buying a bottle of water, it's a price of the bottle of water because it's fixed and nothing can influence the price.

But when, for example, you're painting a wall and there could be lots of things that affect the price, what kind of paint would you like to do, what kind of surface of the wall. So when the price is not, I would say, confirmed, then... they say quotes so something like estimate price and in the mind of americans for example if i'm the pain i'm painting the wall and i give my quote so that means if the client will just proceed that so that means that the quote is estimated price and after it's a done deal it's just gonna be the final final price that's not gonna happen in in the car shipping and that's maybe one of the other disappointments that the client gets so when I say it you get from four to ten different quotes that means that four to ten different companies will get this information about the client And so, in actual, all of them will start just calling and we can see that the broker company from four to ten different companies will receive this information. So, what they naturally do, they start calling to the client. They have the phone number, they have the email address, so they just call and they just leave the voicemail, they just send text messages, they send emails and they do this in a...

really I would say rapid way and just the client gets basically overwhelmed with all that so if the client just go to two different websites and there's 10 quotes each so he can easily get a 24 calls within the next two or three hours so something that is like the client probably is not expecting to get like I said in their mind they feel like there'll be a table where the chip is on top the most expensive on bottom and they will just choose which one they would like to take it's not happening this way and like i said this is a big disappointment so when you call in let's say um after you get lit and you're calling to the client maybe like in an hour there's a high chance that you that the client will not pick up the phone even though like americans are very i would say introverted in terms of phone calls and phone conversations and that that's something that they don't really like and In general, Americans will not pick up the phone so easily, especially when the client gets 10 different phone calls and the client understands that, okay, here's another one coming in, I just don't have intention to talk to this person. So if you want to reach the client, just to get a high chance of reaching the client, you need to call after you get the lead in the first five minutes. So that will give you a good chance of talking to the client. In other cases, that would be pretty difficult to do I would say.

So it's a big disappointment I would say but that's the way how the industry works. So the broker companies take this information and they try to take advantage of that. So what happens next?

Then the broker company, I mean you choose the broker company and then they will start talking with the carrier company. They will see... who is available on the route and like i said the the database that we're using it's 8 000 carrier companies and pretty much any broker any other broker they will be working with the same database it's not that we have this carrier and the other broker company does not have this this this carrier so it's not like something that is unique unless we have our own truck and we just not going to post this truck anywhere So there's a national load board that all the drivers are looking for loads and it's called central dispatch or just central and that's all the brokers and all the carrier companies they have access to that load board so if every time the broker has some load they just post it on central dispatch so the carriers can see that and then they call in order to get the to get the this load so and Why the carrier company cannot work directly with clients?

I mean, they cannot. And there's a few reasons why. The first one, in America everything is licensed. So in order to do some sort of activities, you need to have a license.

So that's why the broker has the license. It's called MC number, or motor carrier number, and also DOT number. So DOT stands for Department of Transportation. Also, the broker company should have a bond, sort of like insurance, in case if they didn't pay the carrier company for the transportation, so the carrier company can claim to the bond of the broker company.

It's first reason, I mean, it's not the main one. The main reason is that the carrier company simply do not have the sales agents or sales department that will work simply with the client. So they just have the dispatch department.

They're just for the drivers only and not for the clients. And the second reason, basically, the care company, they do one route on a regular basis, and they do not know which client like to go. on this route, especially on Monday when they are living there.

So for the broker companies, they don't care about when the client needs to ship their vehicle or what kind of route. So they will find that driver who basically operates on that route. So that's why the carrier company cannot work directly with clients because it's pretty much impossible for them just to deal with that.

So they just cannot find a client who would just... be suitable for them same story with the client so the client does not know which carrier company would go on their specific route so next thing we're going to talk about is what we use for transporting vehicles what kind of equipment we're using for that i will say that there's like a lot of different equipments that we can use for this but there's like main type of trailers and especially like we're going to talk about trailers that's something that we use where we put our vehicles on. So the first one and the most common and the most popular one, this is a car hauler.

So the cheapest way and the most common way to transport a vehicle. So usually the car hauler can fit from 5 to 11 vehicles. I would say 11, that's the top.

12, it could be possible, but usually not. Car haulers can be different. They can be a small one, up to five vehicles. Some of them are even not.

Less than that, so the smallest car hauler that would be for one vehicle. It's hard to say this is a car hauler, but just a general idea. So I would say the commercial car hauler that is used is mostly like starting from three vehicles. But this is something that is very tiny and little. I would say we can talk about the car haulers from five to 11 vehicles that they can haul.

And they look like this. So that's how many like. 6 car hauler. So the car haulers they can be two types basically, open and enclosed.

So the one that you see in the picture it's an open one. And naturally there's a difference in price and first. So enclosed one will be 50 percent more expensive than an open one. So exactly in this one.

So not the open one is 50 percent cheaper than an enclosed one. Vice versa. Just makes a big difference I would say. So enclosed one is 50% more expensive.

So let's say the open one is $500. So the enclosed one we add another 50%. So it's $750. I would say at least 50%.

So in some cases especially on a not good route this price might be $800 or even higher than that. Okay then the insurance for an open one that's going to be $100,000. and for enclosed one that's going to be 250 000 worth of insurance they they have a very common thing that is zero percent deductible that's something to tell to the client but um in reality there might be some sort of like different uh kind of deductions in case of the damage of the vehicle usually it's uh 2500 but it just i would say various but usually what the client would like to hear that this is zero percent deductible for the insurance we can say that the whole truck is insured for one million dollars just to give an impression um how great this insurance is at the same time in the enclosed trailer it could be two types as well so it could be soft side and there can be a hard side so soft side usually this is like a tent um type of the enclosed trailer and the hard side usually is metal plastic that they use of course the hard side would be more secure for transportation and the soft side is less secure so i would say the only difference between open and closed i mean of course about the secureness of the of the vehicle during transportation and if if if you're shipping like something expensive i would say a vintage car old car or it's a let's say brand new Mercedes S-Class, you would definitely want to use it in an enclosed trailer.

But sometimes even those kind of vehicles, they can be transported in an open trailer. But especially if it's a Lamborghini, Porsche, or stuff like that, something exclusive, I would not run a risk on just using enclosed transportation. And again, we don't have that much enclosed requests.

So sometimes there is. just try if the client kind of hesitates between open and closed I would suggest you to offer him open because first of all it's a cheaper option the second one it's easy to find an open carrier rather than an enclosed one so if the person has a 2012 BMW X5 and he thinks this is a precious vehicle. You can tell that this is just a vehicle and it's not that expensive to transport it enclosed. But sometimes even like not a very fancy car is transported on an enclosed trailer just because the people really appreciate their vehicle.

So there is some type of the body that's called convertible. So the vehicle that has a drop top So it means it could be transformed so the vehicle would not have the roof. And that's called a convertible. So the convertible, it looks like this.

Drop top vehicle. And the convertible could be two types of roofs. It could be a soft top and there's going to be a hard top.

So when we say hard top, this is a roof that is made out of metal. And it will look like pretty much... like any other vehicle. And a soft top, this is the roof they made of, I would say, cloth or leather.

So something that you need like an extra tension. So if it's a soft top vehicle, it's need to go on top load. And why is that?

If you just put it on the bottom load and we put some vehicle that has an oil leakage or say a fluid leakage, so there might be a problem. So if this kind of fluids they will just get into the soft top if especially if it's a cloth is going to be damaged i mean not physically damaged but it's going to be like you know stains and the client would just need to spend you know money for that so in most cases if it's a convertible to ask what kind of top is that is it for hard top soft top if it's a soft top just we need to put it on the top load and usually that's something that we might request for additional $50, even though the driver cannot guarantee that the vehicle will stay on top load all the time. But if the client requested that, that's something that we need to talk with driver because I mean this is a very serious thing. So the second thing, the second type of the trailer would be the flatbed and the flatbed usually we use once we couldn't fit the vehicle into the car hauler. So the car haulers, they are pretty good in transporting all kind of vehicles, I mean all popular types of vehicles, but sometimes when the vehicle is too...

let's say car hauler has some limits, I would say, in terms of the axle, how wide it should be, or how short it is, the height of the vehicle, the length of the vehicle, and the width. But like I said, all the most popular types of vehicle you can transport them in a car hauler, so there should be no problem. In case if you have issues with that, it just didn't fit into the car hauler, so let's say it has a bigger wheel, so it's too high, for example, too long for the car hauler. So in this case, we'll be using the flatbed. So the flatbed, it looks like this.

So it's a truck, it has a cabin, and then there's a big platform, I would say, where we can load. different type of the vehicles. So like you can see here, it's basically flat, so it doesn't have ramps like in a car hauler, so we don't have that much restrictions, I would say, so we don't have like an axle, it could be different, it could be like longer, it could be higher, it could be just wider than any other vehicle that we put in the car hauler.

So usually if you're talking about the flatbed, again, they can be different type of sizes, but I would say from one to three vehicles we can easily fit in there. And again, when we're talking about the flatbed, the price is slightly different. So when you're talking about the flatbed, specifically we can use a flatbed when the vehicle is inoperable. And usually it's in a system, it says like inop, so inoperable vehicle. So what we can call an operable vehicle.

An operable vehicle is a vehicle that cannot drive itself into the trailer. So it doesn't mean that sometimes the client says, hey, it's an operable, so you should ask the client, so what do you mean by an operable, what's that? And sometimes the client can say, you know what, I'm just driving this vehicle two miles, and it just doesn't want to go anywhere, so it just stops. So for us, it's pretty much operable because it can drive itself into the trailer.

And for example, when the client says, well, the battery is dead, so I cannot start the vehicle. Again, this is not an operable vehicle because usually the drivers, they have the boosters or they have like some sort of equipment that can just, or they can use. own batteries just to start the vehicle so it's not an operable and when the client says you want something with transmission or there's something with suspension that cannot be moved basically so in this case if the vehicle cannot drive itself into the trailer that means it's an operable vehicle but at the same time even if it's an operable it has should should have three properties basically it should roll steer and brake in this case we can load the vehicle it can maybe not be operable i mean not cannot start but it should roll steer and brakes in this case we can load the vehicle in a outside reasonable price i mean none of those conditions can be applied and we can move this vehicle but the price it could be just a little different so we're talking about like reasonable price transportation there also comes a premium for an op premium means additional payment so depending on the route again so if the route is popular so usually it's like zero dollars so the driver will accept the inoperable vehicle for the same price as operable vehicle if it's 50 50 routes i mean let's say again we will talk about later about the popularity of the routes but just if if this route is not good but it's not like dead route so i would say you should add another 100 150 dollars and if it's like a dead route so no drivers and it would be hard to find somebody so it's going to be 200 250 sometimes it's even more than that and i would say if you're talking about the pricing for flatbed in general so usually when you transport it on the flatbed it can be more expensive than on the car haulers usual i would say 100 150 dollars you should put on top of it and how to load.

So if we're talking about an operable vehicle there's a few options how we can do that. So the first one is winch. So winch looks like this and it should be on a trailer.

So it could be sometimes the car hauler has a winch but usually when we talk about the winch it's on a flatbed. So then it hooks up the vehicle and just drags it into the trailer. that's how it works the second option is a forklift so the forklift looks like this um this is a machine that just uh picks the vehicle lifts it up and just put it on a trailer so usually when you're talking about car auctions dealership workshops all of them should have a forklift or at least you should ask if they have a forklift but if talking about the car auctions all of them have a forklift no matter what and if you're talking about um Forklift at the pickup location so we need to know if there is a forklift at the delivery location So the forklift puts it on the trailer and then you should just do the same story at the delivery location So for example, if there's nothing at the delivery location, it could be a problem unless You're gonna put the vehicle that way so you can just roll out of the trailer by itself So pay attention when it's it's an op always ask what's the problem and if talking about forklift so then you need to know if the vehicle is actually i mean if there's a delivery location there's a forklift as well or we can just um just roll it over the trailer and the third option use uh for mexicans um only in case if it's a chassis just just the wheels basically. It's not very often, I mean like the client would not appreciate if it's a regular vehicle and there's four guys will just try to drag it on the trailer and off the trailer, but in case of talking about chassis which weight is not significant, so in this case it would not be a problem if just several people would just drag this vehicle or just roll it on the trailer.

Okay, so the third option or third type of trailer would be the low boy. So the low boy looks like this. And usually the low boy we use for the pricing is three to five price per mile. So it's more expensive than the other types and low boy usually used for something heavy, I would say construction equipment, heavy equipment, boats.

some agriculture equipment something like that so usually it's one thing that you put on a trailer so you cannot put two or three of those usually it's just one they could be like a different sizes of course and there's a height restrictions that we have on a on it on this load so the height restriction that the vehicle on the trailer i just specifically tell that this is on trailer not just the vehicle itself should not be more than 13 and six so 13 feet six inches you can use a google and translate that or convert that into inches but usually it's like feet inch so that means that usually the the low boy is around three feet high and so that means that stuff that is higher than 11 feet i would say 10 something we cannot move it for a reasonable price i mean we can move something that is higher than that but there's needs to be permits and It takes a lot of money for that because every state would take their permit for height restrictions. And you need to make such route that you don't cross the bridges and sometimes not that easy. So you need to remember 13.6. That's the highest for transportation as for widths. Pay attention to me, not more than 8.6, 8 feet 6 inches.

So that's the sort of restriction. So if it's wider than that, so it means that you need the permits to get this vehicle. And you need to have the pilot car in front of you and behind you sometimes. And this turns your transportation into a very, very expensive procedure, I would say. All right.

One more thing about the low boy. It differs on how many axles do you have. So usually it's like two or three axles that would be the smallest one, and then it could be up to 15. But that's something that is just huge and you just extremely expensive one.

All right, so let's move forward. So type of bodies that we can transport. And now we talk what exactly are we shipping. So different type of bodies.

of the vehicle. So the first one is a sedan, the most common one. And the sedans could be three types. They can be small, mid-size and large. And I would say the cheapest transportation would be a sedan.

That's how a sedan looks like. And if you're not sure when you're working with a client, he gives you the year making models, you always can google and you can see that if it looks like this, so that means that it's sedan so the second one is suv it stands for sport utility vehicle and again they can be small mid-sized and large again if you do not know uh like if you look at this picture and you just hesitate into what category you should put it i mean if it's a small or mid-size or large like you can just select a mid-sized and it's not going to affect anything the pricing at all so just need to pick this information so same with suv if you just don't know the suv looks like this i would say that this is uh again like something between mid-size and large if you're not sure which category to put it you can just select mid-sized and there will be no problems with that next one is pickups this is a little more i would say complicated uh once the pickup is looks like this it's a big suv that have a bed and it's not covered. So we have five types of pickups. It could be small, crew cab, extended cab, full-size and dualies. So how we differentiate them?

So small is two doors, crew cab it's a four doors. On the picture we have that most likely is four doors. So extended cab could be anything has a bigger cab.

Full-size that something that has the index of towing usually the ford for example they have 350 index others like gmc like chevrolet they have the index of 3500 so that what it tells the the car can look like pretty much crew cab or something but it just have a higher towing capacity or they call it's super duty or heavy duty pickups so they just can tow more than the regular you So in this case, you just have the bigger chassis or the bigger engine, so the car will just simply be heavier than the standard one. And the dualies, so it's pretty much has four wheels at the back. And that's how you just figure out this is the pickup dualies.

So for doors, usually it has a wider axle. And you can tell it has four wheels at the back. So next one is van.

It looks like this. The vans can be, I'll say, four types. I just mentioned three types, because the fourth is not that important.

The first one is a minivan. This is like seven seats, the full size, up to 13 seats and extended length. It's up to 20 seats.

So a minivan, usually it's like same as an SUV mid-sized. You can even just get confused, but usually a minivan is a little... bigger than the SUV midsize or more like SUV large. This one is on a picture that I would say this is a full size.

So you can probably fit like 8-10 people there. So up to 13 seats and extended length that would be something that's more like a bus. You can probably see them in on the streets of in Ukraine.

So motorcycles. They can be also different type of motorcycle. They can be a regular motorcycle. So like basically two wheel strike that has three. The trike looks like this.

And then there is a motorcycle with sidecar and it looks like this. I would say not very popular that you would face with strikes and with a sidecar but just to make sure that you you know about them so if you're talking about regular motorcycle it's something that you you have to compare with the uh with the sedan so basically the motorcycle usually i mean if you're talking about regular motorcycle it's 80 of the sedan for an open trailer and if you're shipping it in a closed trailer that could be the full price of the sedan in an open trailer just rewind just listen to one more time just to put it down as as for the trike um it would be very difficult to fit it into a car holder because the the front wheel it's uh in between uh and um as we're saying that the vehicle is coming on the ramps so and on the in between there is no ramp so it would be kind of difficult to do this so either we transport it on a flatbed or we should use enclosed transportation with a sidecar it's a little easier than that but still the axle could be not as wide for ramps so it just can bring some problems but in general i think we should manage to fit it in the car hauler so usually trikes and a motorcycle sidecar they are very close to the prices of the vehicle so even though they are lighter than the vehicle so the driver they will just not be very cooperative i would say in this point so let's move forward with rv it stands for recreation vehicle so it looks like this they could be different sizes and or you can call them motor homes but not sure americans call it as a motor homes or caravans it's more like a british i would say expression so the rv we can transport them in three types it could be a driveway towway and hole so for the I would need to explain you the condition of the vehicle in each case. So if it's a driveway, so it's the cheapest one, so a driveway usually they can do it for less than a dollar per mile.

Again, especially what kind of vehicle is that, but you need to make sure that if you do driveway, try to avoid those types of transportation because usually people underestimate, I mean overestimate the condition of the vehicle and sometimes cross-country transportation is very difficult and painful for the vehicle itself. So if you do the driveway, just make sure the client understands everything about this type of transportation. So that means that the driver will come and sit in the vehicle and just drive it. So in this case, it should be operable. I would say you should pass the service in order not to have any problems if you just add another 3,000 miles on it.

I would say this should be roadworthy. So that means... Operable, that means it can drive it now, but road worth it, that means that the tires are fine, everything is in its place. and it should have license and registration in in case uh the the driver will be stopped and also insurance uh it should be insured should be all everything in order and uh like i said the client should be fully aware of that and in this case it can be depending again on route under under one dollar per mile so the second option will be tow away so when the the truck comes they just hooks hook up the this rv and then they tow it away uh whatever you need to on this case it could be not operable but at least it should roll still on brake uh but it should be road work system i mean the the tire should be fine there's no problems with that all the tags and lights should be on uh also license registration and the insurance because it just to wait again Clients should be fully aware of this way of transportation. And as for the price, I would say tollway at between like could be even like less than a dollar, but I would say dollar, dollar point two.

Again, depending on the size of the RV. Then the hold, that's probably the most expensive way of transportation. In this case, the vehicle can be fully. not operable, not roadworthy, without license, without registration, without insurance. That's the way of transportation that all the clients would prefer, but like I said, it's more expensive than the others.

We'll just talk about pricing a little bit later. I'm giving you the general idea about how to transport the RVs. The next one is travel trailers. It's very similar to the RV but the problem is it doesn't have the engine to drive itself so it's just a trailer that you pull so in this case you can do the tow away and haul and same story with it and if you are talking about I mean tow away probably the the common way of transporting then when you're talking about tow away you should ask about the hinges and they could be different side of like hinges could be a fifth wheel gooseneck you so you need to understand which one do you have and which which one would be fine for the driver whole you need to understand that in order to be driven into the trailer something or is somehow should get onto the trailer because it cannot drive itself into the trailer like comparison to rv so using the crane or using the winch so just to figure out how to load this on a trailer Next section that will be who are our clients and like I said there's a different type of client.

So first one it's online buyers and like I said online buyer that could be like a one time deal or somebody who would deal with you on a regular basis. On a regular basis I would say who gives you pretty much like a one order per week. So like try to work as good as possible those clients because they just can give you like lots of benefits.

so online buyers so what what do you mean for that there's uh auctions like i said car auctions it's a very popular stuff lots of people are buying from our car auctions um not only dealerships but i mean regular people they also buy vehicles out of auctions so the three main popular uh auction that would be corporate iaai and the manheim again of course this is three just main one but But usually there's like tons of different other auctions that we can pick it up the vehicle. I'm just giving you the whole idea. So if you're talking about those auctions and you need to understand that those auctions are different. And I would say for corporate mostly like damaged vehicles, I would say 50-50.

But again, they are very similar. So when I say 50-50, just for you to give some sort of like... to differentiate them but usually they are very similar to how to say where do we get damaged vehicles and again when you're talking about auctions and we say damaged vehicle it doesn't mean that it's an operable vehicle so damaged vehicle can run and drive but just not for a very long time which is damaged and then high mostly good vehicles but sometimes there's damaged vehicles as well but not significantly damaged so if the vehicle is very damaged they probably would just go to corporate or to iaa so all those car auctions that have the business hours Uh, and you should just pay attention to that.

So usually they work monday through friday and it doesn't work saturday sunday and they're working from 8 30 to 4 30 and my hand works 24 7 if you have all the necessary documents to pick up the vehicle and i would say most all of them works this schedule um so what kind of documents do we need for that uh for corporate ia mostly you need a buyer number lot number and vin code so we call this is a big uh a big number that has numbers and digits mixed together and sometimes we can ask for only six digits but i would say that just request the whole vin code that will be safer for you so by number lot number vin code this is all digits so you can just get this over the phone or can be texted to you so this is information that you would need to provide to the driver because the driver will not be able to find him to pick it up the vehicle from the auction without this information so if you just didn't get this from the client be prepared that the driver call you and just requested this information if the driver is want to do it by himself so he will call the client but usually don't undo that they call to the broker and they ask you to call the client so if you didn't do that so just be prepared for that if we're talking about Manheim, we would need to get a gate pass for Manheim. The gate pass, this is a paper that has all this information and you cannot get it over the phone so that's something that needs to be sent to you over the email. And also the car auction, they have a storage fee, usually give you like 5 to 7 days depending again on the auction. So you can pick up the vehicle and usually it's like 10 to 20 dollars per day of the storage. If you hear that the client needs a vehicle to be picked up from the auction, just ask him when the storage starts, because storage fees sometimes can be really bad.

I'll say $10 to $20. I mean, that's I would say that's the starting point. Sometimes it could be like $30, $40, $50 per day.

So just pay attention to that. If you couldn't find the driver within those. five or three days sometimes the client calls when it's already like past due so we need to find sooner in order to pay the less also it could be a reason why to choose us so you can choose us and the storage fee will not bother you anymore and like i said previously auctions they always have forklifts so remember that so the next one it's dealerships and Again, dealerships can be different. So in sizes, it can be very, very small, privately owned, family owned, and it could be like a big corporation. They have more extended working hours.

So usually the dealership, they might work during the weekend. So usually Monday through Friday, they work 9 to 6. It can be sometimes 7 or 8 o'clock, but it's less common. And sometimes they can work Saturdays from 9 to 3. I would say very uncommon if they work Sundays, but maybe in some situations they do that, so they have more extended hours.

So what documents do we need to pick up the vehicle from dealership? So we need a stock number, it's basically equivalent of lot number, we would need the VIN code or at least six digits, six less digits. And in some cases we would need the release form.

So release form is basically like email, it says hey i'm the owner of this vehicle i just allow this company to pick up my vehicle okay and the third one that would be individuals for the individuals we don't need any information um just to pick up and deliver addresses and that's that's all we need so then a driver called the pick application and they will schedule the transportation uh the next one it's a very big i would say portion of clients and call it snowbird season or snowbird clients so usually uh there's like southern states and there's a northern states again like these states are not very popular so mostly like when we talk about like uh snowbird season so we're talking about this area like new york uh maybe chicago a little bit but mostly like this area who has i would say they're like rental houses or their vacation properties so to say in Florida usually it's Florida it could be Texas but not all over and California again not very often so mostly Florida Florida to New York so that's What we can call a snowbird season. So when, yeah, okay. Before that, I would need to explain about centers of transportation. So there's four main centers of transportation in the United States, and that would just, what just forms the whole industry. So the first one, that would be California.

And in California, there's two cities. I mean, not a city itself, but metropolitan areas of those cities. So there's San Francisco and there's Los Angeles.

I don't know why it's not mentioned here. So second one, that would be Texas. I mean, Texas is really big and only like four cities in Texas can see to be essential transportation. So there's Austin, very close to the Austin would be the San Antonio.

Houston would be closer to the water and Dallas somewhere. in the center. Those cities and their metropolitan areas would be considered the center of transportation.

So the third one, that would be Florida. And pretty much Florida has this shape, and we can call that all part of Florida, except this part, this northern part, is considered to be a center of transportation. So pretty much anywhere here, that would be the center of transportation. And the fourth, it's New York, and we just... not say the exactly new york but something that starts from boston and up to dc that's the area we can call the center of transportation and usually people travels between those centers of transportation say california florida texas florida texas california texas new york and that's what forms basically this industry when we're talking about snowbird season we're talking about transportations from new york to florida and vice versa so what happens with prices when uh let's say um somebody like usually when it's getting colder here so everybody tried travel to florida and whatsoever so when florida gets too too hot people travel back to new york where it's not as hot as as there so let's say when it's getting too cold here like people start travel to florida usually it starts i would say september october november That's like three months of what we can call a snowboard season.

So everybody who travels to Florida, so the price is just going sky high if we just try to move to Florida. So I would say six, seven hundred, that would be the start point. And if you just try and move from Maine or something that's not very popular, it could be up to a thousand, eleven hundred dollars for the SUV. So just pay attention to that and vice versa.

So at this very moment, everybody who travels from Florida to New York, the price is just going pretty much up sorry so they're going just down so for example if to travel here will be 700 so vice versa would be approximately like 300 and you can just find a driver maybe some even like cheaper than that maybe 250 dollars 200 so depending on how how like desperate the driver is at that moment and During the springtime everything changes so when it's getting too hot in Florida, I would say April May June Maybe even like sooner than that Maybe like late March, but probably it's like April May June is getting too hot here. So everybody travels back to New York and the prices again. They just flips everything for Florida would be like Seven eight hundred dollars and everybody who would travel to Florida during this period of time That would be like extremely cheap like three hundred dollars to fifty to seventy five and between seasons I would say the price is very equal It just levels up to four fifty five hundred dollars per transportation And it doesn't matter if you just travel it from Florida to Florida.

So the prices would be very I would say similar As we still have the map, I'm going to show you the very common question about the transit time. So the transit time, that means how many days will it take to deliver, something that just a client asks you. In the scripts, you'll find that it takes 400 miles per day for the driver to cover, and then you can, based on the mileage, you can calculate how many days will it take, but also if you have the map and you don't have how many miles, you just can do this visually. So it...

goes like this from coast to coast usually takes seven to ten days to transport a vehicle from south to north and like i say florida to new york takes three or five days let's say from the coast to the three quarters so somewhere here it will take five to seven days from center whatever it is to the coast that should be three to five days and if it's just between several states I would say one or two days delivery.
