Separation Methods and Principles

Hi Hi Hi As we already know that a mixture consists of two or more substances to obtain a pure substance the components of the mixture must be separated. The substances in the mixture can be separated physically. The principle of separating mixtures is based on the differences in the physical properties of the constituent substances such as the state of the substance, particle size, melting point, boiling point, magnetic properties, solubility, and so on. The method of separating mixtures is widely used in everyday life, such as for water purification and salt production. Some methods of separating mixtures that are often used include filtration, centrifugation, sublimation, chromatography, and distillation. [Music] One of the simplest separation methods is the filtration or filtration method. Filtration is a method of separating mixtures that is used to separate liquids and solids that do not dissolve based on the differences in particle size of the mixed substances. Hi, the centrifugation method is often used as a substitute for filtration if the solid particles contained in the mixture are very fine and the amount of the mixture is less. The centrifugation method is widely used to separate red blood cells and white blood cells from blood plasma. In this case, the solids are red blood cells and white blood cells that will collect at the bottom of the test tube, while blood plasma in the form of a liquid that is at the top of the separation of mixtures by means of distillation or refining is widely used in everyday life as well as in industrial activities separation of mixtures by means of distillation is used to separate a liquid from its mixture the working principle is based on the difference in boiling points of the mixed liquids so that when they evaporate each substance will be separated hi separation method by means of chromatography is widely used in various activities including to separate various dyes and urine tests for someone suspected of using illegal drugs or an athlete suspected of using doping separation of mixtures by means of chromatography is generally used to identify a substance in a mixture the working principle is based on the difference in the speed of propagation between particles of substances mixed in a still medium when a medium is flowing [Music] yo wes the working principle of the method of separation of mixtures by means of sublimation is based on a mixture of substances that have one substance that can sublimate or change from solid to gas while the other substance cannot sublimate for example a mixture of iodine and salt can be separated by means of sublimation [Music]
