Types of Counseling

  1. State-level Counseling
  2. All India Counseling
    • Conducted by MCC (Medical Counseling Committee)

Seats Under All India Counseling

  • 50% of Government Colleges: MD, MS, Diploma seats
  • 50% of Banaras Hindu University (BHU) seats
  • 50% of Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) seats
  • 50% of Central Universities: Including Delhi University
  • 100% DNB (Diplomate of National Board) seats
    • Courses: 3-year, 2-year diploma, 6-year Super Speciality
      • Neurosurgery, Cardiac Surgery, Pediatrics, Plastic Surgery
  • All Deemed Universities: MD, MS, Diploma seats
    • Types of seats: Management/Paid, NRI
    • Includes minority seats: Muslim, Jain, etc.

Counseling Process

  1. Notification & Schedule
    • NEET result published
    • Notice for conversion from Indian to NRI quota
  2. Steps for Counseling
    • Registration: Online registration required
    • Document Upload: Necessary documentation to be uploaded
    • Payment: Registration and security fees
      • Only Government College & DNB: ₹1,000 (reg), ₹25,000 (security)
      • Including Deemed Universities: ₹5,000 (reg), ₹2,00,000 (security)

Choice Filling and Seat Allotment

  • Round 1
    • Free exit: No penalty if seat not accepted
    • Proper order of choices necessary
    • Post-allotment options: Accept, leave, or opt for upgradation
  • Round 2 and Round 3
    • Registration again if security forfeited
    • Upgradation possible till Round 3
    • Round 2 onwards: Penalty applied if seats not accepted

    • Good ranks: Government Colleges
    • Medium ranks: DNB, Deemed Universities
