Okay, so let's begin. So our topic for this session will be, What is Management? Okay, so our learning objective... for this session is for me to explain to you the meaning, functions, types, and theories of management. So for a start, let us think aloud. So process of coordinating and overseeing the work performance of individuals working together in organizations so that they could efficiently and effectively accomplish their chosen aims or goals. So, for you to easily remember what are those functions, blocks. Okay, blocks. So, maraming magsak ng or patak ng tubig. Blocks. Blocks. Okay, so P for planning, L for leading, O for organizing. C for controlling, and S for staffing. So, bigyan ko lang kayo ng paspas na definition ng bawat isa niyan, okay? So, for planning, kung iisipin natin, diba, tayo, even us, we are practicing management at our home, with our friends, with occasions na sinaselebrate natin. Bakit? Another function is organizing. So, sa bahay pa lang, pinapractice na natin to. Kung papansinin ninyo, sa kwarto pa lang magsimula na tayo. You organize things like your book, you fix it on the bookshelves, you put your things there, you clean it so we don't hear our moms. It's a bit annoying when the room is messy. So that's when you apply. So the same thing goes with the organization. So there's an establishment of working relationships. Of course, if you are a skill, for example, you are tech savvy, you will be placed in the ICT department. If you are good at budgeting, you will be placed in the finance department. If you are good at selling, you will be placed in the sales department. So that is the example. So I hope, that's all for my explanations on the blog. ay matatandaan ninyo. Para madali nating tandaan, merong extremes. meron naman medya-medya. Okay? So for the first type is the autocratic. Autocratic type of management are also called as authoritarian leadership. So sabi daw neto, kinakarakterize to na tipo bang parang pamamahalang diktadoriya. So kung ang, sino ba ang mga tao na mapipicture nyo dito? Pakitype in nga. They can work on their own. They can decide on their own. What the manager will do is monitor their attendance and course through to HR if they're concerned. But in terms of operations, it's up to you to make a decision. That's how lazy-fair they are. So it doesn't really connotate that... Kamad si manager. So, dati daw kasi, nung way back, 1980s, Frederick Taylor started the scientific management theory. I'm sure you know what scientific management is. That's what they call a scientific way of solving problems. Everything we do in this world, everything we do in an organization, there's a science behind it. So I hope you get it. So for example, if this is how a baby behaves, Yung isang tao, alam niya na kung ano yung science behind that. Okay? Next, Fordism. Pakitandaan. Pag sinaming Fordism, nagmula ito sa isang kumpanya na Ford Motor Company. Fordism. Ford Motor Company. Nagagawa ng mga sasakyan. Nadiscovered daw ito ni Henry Ford wherein siya yung may-ari. okay, ng motor company na to, na-realize niya na mas maganda pala ang system of mass production and task specialization. Let me briefly explain each of it. Pag sinabi kasing mass production, kung napapansin ninyo, mas bumibilis ang tao pag expertise niya yung ginagawa niya. Am I right? Diba? Kunari. Ang expertise mo sa isang bagay, kunari na lang, ako ay gagawa ng pizza pie. Kunari lang yun. Kunari may expertise niya paghihiwa ng mga rekados ng pizza pie. Misa naman expertise niya ang pagbe-bake ng dough. Yung paghuhulma ng dough. Meron naman expertise niya yung paglalatag ng lahat ng mga ingredients. So tatlong tao yun kung iisipin natin. What if? Dito sa kumpanya ko na pizza company ay gusto kong maging productive ang aking mga tao. Ilalagay ko ang mga tao ko sa kanilang expertise. So meaning to say, kung ito ay magaling maghiwa, lahat na ricados, ikaw ang maghiwa. Andyan yung kumi hotdog, sausage, pepperoni, may bell pepper, may mushroom, o yan bahala kahiwain mo yan. Tapos ako naman, ako magmimix ng dough. Okay? Meron dito. And there's a third person who mixes all the ingredients and that's all they do. There's another four, the waiters. The waiters cook the pizza. So if you think about it, that's the concept of the 4D system. The system of operation is faster when everyone's expertise is their place. Hindi yung tipong, for example, ako lang mag-isa ko, tapos lahat gagawin ko yan. Diba? The tendency is nawawalan ng pagka-master ng skills. Okay? So, nahihirapan. Siyempre, tendency mo, nag-iisip ka pa, diba? So, yun. Next. Files, Theory of Management. Okay, of course, it's a bit high. What is this? Is this history? No, it's not. Yung pala sweldo lang pala, pinahirapan pa tayo. Remuneration. Okay, so Hawthorne Studies naman. Itong authoring studies, para matandaan natin na madali, ito daw ay sumatotal yung pagtatrabaho or productivity rate pala daw ng tao ay bumabase sa working condition niya. Okay, example lang. Sa tingin nyo ba, kayo ay magiging productive kung mainit ang inyong pinagtatrabahohan na sobrang nadidehydrate kayo, tapos mabaho ang kapal? It's a research observation that they noticed. This is called observation. If you are micromanaged or you are observed while you are working, there is this tendency that work is fast. Am I right? Ito naman, naniniwala ang organization that there are two types of system in an organization. The open system and the closed system. Simple lang yan. Ibig sabihin na open system. Open nga. So, ibig sabihin, open ako sa mundo. So, it is open to the external environment. Ibig sabihin, nakikihalubilo sila sa different shareholders, stakeholders, different business partners, even competitors. Unlike the closed system, it only means na ako. Ang sistema ko ay wala ako masyadong kinalaman sa nagaganap sa aking environment. Yun ang ibig sabihin nun, external environment. Hindi ako apektado, tumaas ang presyo ng bilihin, hindi ako apektado. Tumaas ang gasolina, hindi ako apektado. Ang mga suppliers ko, hindi ako takot na ano. Hindi, ibig sabihin actually, wala nga siya eh. Wala nga siya kinalaman even sa suppliers. So, for the last one. Okay, Theory X and Theory Y. So, for us to easily remember which is Theory X, which is Theory Y. Okay, so... Basta, tandaan, kapag sinabing X, anong naiisip kay X?
