[Applause] [Music] [Applause] today I'm going to talk about social media social media is a topic which is very much relevant in today's time and because social media has touched upon almost every aspect of Our Lives whether it is personal whether it is professional or whether it is political so for that matter if you are connecting with your friend on Facebook or if you are doing some shopping on Amazon or if you are maybe writing an article article on a political issue you are all the time connecting with social media and you we are getting to know news or information from all these mediums now before we get into the detail of social media we need to understand that what exactly is social media now media we know is an instrument of communication but when we say social media social media becomes a social instrument of communication now this medium has evolved from a broadcast model to a network model now when I say broadcast model I mean that there is one person or a group of people who are creating a message who are disseminating news to the rest of the people so which means it is from one to many kind of a model now but we today's time we have moved on on from one to many to many to many kind of a model which means from broadcast to a network model now Network model is a model where many people are creating several messages all around the world and giving it and sharing it and liking it on social media now we need to keep in mind that as media professionals or as communicators whether we are in the field of management whether we are in the field of media or for that matter we in the field of uh education we need to be able to effectively use this tool in a very good manner and whether we like it or not this social media is going to grow as people are Lear willing to learn as people are willing to share as people are willing to comment this social media is going to grow and it is going to grow multi [Music] [Applause] [Music]
