it is almost halfway into 2024 already and you know what we're not doing wasting any more of our time being in a slump because this year we are achieving all of our goals and we are standing on business I'm going to share 11 healthy habits to officially level you up and be your most confident best self if you're new here welcome my name is Lena I have a self-help series here on my channel where we discuss all things becoming your best self so if you're not subscribed already what are you doing okay what are you doing go subscribe right now first things first go monk mode or go ghost listen if you're currently in a slump right now maybe you're not feeling your best maybe you're not that happy with your life whatever do not worry you are not alone okay I felt this way so many times in my life I can't even count okay I remember so many times where I felt just so unmotivated so lonely cuz I didn't have any friends so insecure of myself how I looked my body I hated looking in the mirror I would completely fall off any sort of routine my workout routine my morning routine whatever and I would just constantly compare myself to other people and their lives and when I would get into this mindset I would be like neck deep in my slum I would just self-sabotage and basically snowball myself further and further deeper into my slum by Doom scrolling on social media as kind of like an escape I'll look at other people on social media and be envious of how other people's lives look how they looked physically and it just made myself feel so much worse I even found myself sometimes almost wanting to prove to other people that I actually wasn't as miserable as I was like loky your girl was kind of a fraud okay even when I was feeling like crap about myself I would put on makeup and take a selfie of myself and post it I would force myself to go out and take photos and videos of where I was to seem like my life was actually fun when it was not I would post a mirror selfie at the gym even though before that I didn't go to the gym for like a month and this is because deep down I knew that I was struggling okay I was struggle City I knew that myself but at least to everyone else it seemed like I was doing okay and you know what I was being by doing that a clown okay I was a clown no no more clown activity no more fraud activity okay you know finding an escape and pretending like you're okay might work temporarily like it might work a little bit but long term you are just digging yourself deeper and deeper into this hole where it is going to be so much harder to get out of so the solution go monk mode and what this basically means is simplifying your life and your routine by eliminating any distractions so you can really just focus on yourself and improving yourself right now you feeling unmotivated insecure not feeling like yourself sluggish down on yourself that is not you that is not who you are it is just your body's of letting you know like hey girl we need some alone time we need some me time so when I start feeling like this I like to give myself permission to take a chill pill I let go of the pressure of having my social life in check trying to see my friends all the time being super consistent with posting on YouTube and I usually try to do a digital detox I delete Instagram and Tik Tok off my phone completely I really limit my screen time and I'll just text my closest friends and let them know like listen I'm overwhelmed right now I need to focus on myself take some time to myself for a little bit so if I go ghost a little bit don't take it personally and whenever I do that they are so understanding like they know that even though I'm not reaching out every single day I obviously still care about them I just need to take time for myself and I promise you every time I've went monk mode or ghost mode I always come out feeling like a brand new person like I'm in a whole fresh new era a new me because basically all that time and energy I was putting out into everything else in my life and stressing out and being unhappy and stretching myself so thin I'm taking all that time and energy and bringing it back to myself so when you go into this monk mode basically just pinpoint what is taking up so much of your time and your energy and just take a small step back like stop trying to do the most on social media and post every single day stop booking yourself so busy with friends just because you want to keep up with your social life stop trying to multitask a million things just take a temporary step back and give that energy back to yourself and you'll realize that going monk mode will give you all this time and energy to put into yourself and to work on yourself so picture the best version of who is your past self who is your future self so for me my past self which I'm leaving behind for good is someone who lacks energy lacks Focus does not have control over her life lacks confidence constantly compares herself to everyone else is insecure and My Future Self or best self which is who I striving to be every single day is the most confident best version of herself has control over her life is thriving in her career her relationships her friendships is compassionate driven provides value and visualizing and picturing your past self and the best future version of yourself is super important because that is where you are going to stem your confidence from people always ask me how are you so confident how do you carry yourself with so much confidence it is because I do not stem my confidence from having millions of followers or thinking I'm the most physically attractive girl in the world or I'm super popular and I have the most friends out of anyone no it is because of who I used to be my past s and how I literally transform myself to be who I am now striving every day to be the best version of myself my future self so that growth is where you get true Confidence from next follow the three Ms all right so we are going to simplify your daily routine to the basics movement get daily movement in this can be a hawk roll walk some yoga stretching some Pilates running and bonus points for you if that movement includes you being outside and spending some time outside because that's actually been scientifically proven to improve your mood so any type of movement or physical activity is proven to release endorphins and relieve stress which that is exactly what your body needs right now so commit to a small movement every day and I promise you it will change your life meditation spend 10 minutes every day meditating this can be you looking up on YouTube a 10-minute meditation video to listen to in the morning or you can journal the real ones know I love journaling okay I'm actually coming out with my own journal so stay tuned for that but if you didn't know journaling is actually a form of meditation it's a way for you to spend time with yourself and create inner peace and calm and shut out the outside world for a bit once I started incorporating journaling and meditating every day I have not stopped that is genuinely how much it's helped my mental health so much management manage your space listen we cannot continue any of these other habits in this video if our physical space is disorganized and messy okay clutter and mess in your space is proven to create more stress and anxiety which is not what we need right now so cleaning and organizing your space is going to help you feel in control because you are in control of your environment which in turn is going to help you focus on tackling other tasks in your life I'm someone that I cannot focus on doing any type of work if my space is messy so get to cleaning girl start organizing your junk drawer vacuum your floors there's this really helpful quote that I heard and it's that clutter is the physical manifestation of procrastination and indecision and that is so true you guys whenever I find myself in a slump or procrastinating or not feeling the best about myself my space my closet my apartment she reflects that so we have to start by cleaning and decluttering the physical so we can then work on the mental curate your consumption so just because you're in monk mode right now does not mean you can't use your phone ever okay what I like to do during monk mode instead of consuming a ton of social media I make it a point to make sure I'm only listening to positive things or informational things that are directly going to impact how I feel and my brain for the better so whether it's a productive podcast a productive YouTube video or a self-help audio book these are some of my favorites I love music so I literally have a dedicated uplifting music playlist that I listen to when I'm not in a good mood because listening to music can genuinely boost your mood and just make you feel good like I have my favorite songs in there that as soon as soon as I listen to it I'm just instantly put in a better mood you have to start thinking of your brain like a sponge you know you just soak up everything that you see and that you hear so if you're just Doom scrolling on Tik Tok for hours waking up first thing you do in the morning is check your phone check your timeline you are spending a lot of hours just consuming things that are not the best for your brain so this leads me to my next point which is incorporate double productivity some people also call this habit stacking so let's say your habit is that you wash the dishes every night then you stack that habit with a new one which is while I do my dishes at night I will listen into a motivational productive podcast or YouTube video so you already had one healthy habit but now you have another one you can do at the same time which is Boom double productive literally anything in my life where I can be double productive I do it and you'll notice you'll feel so much better and more productive with your life and it honestly takes little to no effort yet you're still being productive so for example while I do my makeup I'll listen to an informative YouTube video like Diary of a CEO because it genuinely motivates me and helps me learn about so many different topics going on a haot girl walk I always make sure I'm listening to something that is uplifting motivating and it's such an easy way to incorporate a healthy habit another double productivity thing I do is before I drink my caffeine in the morning I always drink a glass of water because if you didn't already know over your time so basically manage your time so that you don't procrastinate anymore and this is coming from someone who used to be the number one procrastinator okay and it's important to not be unrealistic and Know Your Capacity cuz your to-do list does not need to be a million lines long and your calendar doesn't need to be fully booked all the time for you to be productive with your time and learning how to manage my time has been genuinely life-changing for me because before I used to let my weeks go by and then I would look back and be like where did all my time go like what did I get done last week like I don't even know so what I recommend for keeping track of your time is time blocking so this method is basically when you block your time and dedicated to specific tasks tasks and even routine tasks like working out and cooking lunch that way you know where your time is going and that you're not just procrastinating wasting time like scrolling on your phone and I'm going to be so honest I am very extra with it okay I struggle with something called time blindness and that's basically when you cannot tell the difference between 30 minutes and 3 hours so what I like to do is not only do I time block my time throughout my day I also set alarms to keep track of my time so for example let's say I'm editing a video right I'll estimate how long it will take me so let's say it takes me 4 hours I will set my time for 4 hours later so that way I know when my time is up but also subconsciously I know that there is a time crunch now while I'm doing my tasks so I'll be more focused on the task that I'm trying to get done and that way I'm more efficient with my time so after I'm done editing for 4 hours I'll hit the gym I'll go on a grocery run I'll make sure I cook dinner and since doing this I've been so much more efficient with my time throughout my day follow the 8020 food rule so I hate to be the one to say it but it is true okay your diet and what you eat has a direct impact on how you feel like it's been scientifically proven that your gut health has a direct correlation to your mental health so I used to struggle so much with my weight and binge eating before back when I had really bad depression and anxiety and eating food was almost like an escape for me to help me like feel better but in reality it was actually making me feel so much worse by trying to restrict myself and eat super healthy all the time and then one day just binging everything on site and eating whatever I want so the way I helped fix this is following the 8020 Rule and basically 80% of your diet is going to be mostly healthy nutritious food and the other 20% is what when you eat what you want and you treat yourself because treating yourself is very important okay I love my dessert I love my pizza and cookies and cake and I used to be that person that thought all healthy food just taste bad but no I just wasn't cooking it right okay listen now that I'm in my chef era and I'm cooking I'm in the kitchen chefing it up I genuinely look forward to eating the healthy food that I make and I feel so much better doing it and the other 20% of the time where I eat what I want is typically usually on the weekends where I'm out with my friends I want to eat what I want I'm going out to eat with my boyfriend on a day like I'm not going to restrict myself I'm going to eat what I want and I don't feel any type of guilt doing it because I know that I ate healthy for most of my week having balance with your diet is just key for your physical and your mental health I cannot stress that in a romanticize your life so find enjoyment in the little things in your life and try new things so this means find enjoyment in making your morning coffee or tea going on a walk outside exploring your neighborhood like cleaning your place getting ready for the gym like the real ones know I romanticize the crap out of my life like that is what makes it fun it makes it a Vibe and try and experim expent new things put yourself out there you won't get to know yourself and what you like until you try new things so try a new workout class try a new self-care skincare hack try a new makeup style one thing I've been recently romanticizing is making my matcha in the morning because right now I'm actually taking a break from coffee I know so tragic making my morning matcha it's a process but I like love the process I genuinely enjoy it it makes me happy truly the key to loving your life is romanticizing the little things the big things you are the main character of your own movie so act like it like I love walking around my apartment in my bougie little robe I like to light my candles at night like make it like a cozy Vibe I even romanticize being at home at night and watching Netflix with my cat I treat myself and do things like I am the main character of my movie because I am stop with the people pleasing listen as someone who is an ex people pleaser I know how hard it is okay but this part is going to be so key in you becoming your most confident self and how to stop being a people pleaser is a whole video on its own if you want that video comment down below stop being the brunt of every joke just to make other people laugh stop making yourself small so other people shine stop being afraid to be your true s because you're afraid of people not liking you listen speaking from experience the friends you make people pleasing will not last anyway cuz the minute you speak for yourself and you actually set boundaries and put your foot down that is when they will turn on you and make you the bad person and they're going to be like oh you changed like you're so rude now I don't even know who you are anymore like who are you like letting people constantly break your boundaries and take advantage of you will ruin your self-confidence and your self-worth and also fun fact being a people pleaser comes from having low self-confidence and I used to be the biggest people pleaser and I learned this the hard way I was so insecure myself that I just wanted everyone that I met to like me when that is not possible for example even the most loved people in the world like Taylor Swift Zena oh my gosh I love Zena Leonardo DiCaprio I don't know there are tons of people who love them but there is always someone out there that doesn't really like them and that is okay they are entitled to their opinion stop bending over backwards just for people to like you because that is ultimately not in your control like I want you guys to join me and being in my I do not care era it took me a while to get here but I'm here I do not care whether someone likes me or not I do not care when people comment on my videos saying that I'm chubby or that my voice is annoying or that my videos suck I do not care if the Barista at the cafe that I went to is rude to me for no reason because I understand that not everybody has to like me but also only hurt people like to hurt people like me as a confident person who also is a kind person you will never catch me here hating on somebody's video commenting below like you're ugly I don't like your video blah blah blah blah blah like you will never catch me I can be down bad in my life and I will never take the time of day to send someone hate or make them feel bad about themselves also question for you as a people pleaser do you genuinely want to spend the rest of your life being liked for someone that you're not or would you rather be genuinely loved for who you are but not have every single person you meet in the world think you're the nicest person in the world and like you I retired from people pleasing because now I know who I am and I have a strong sense of self so I don't have to look to other people to tell me that and affirm that I always say this but it's true you set the bar for how others treat you by the way that you treat yourself ask yourself are you mean to yourself how do you speak to yourself how do you treat yourself do you genuinely take care of yourself do you take yourself out and spend quality time with yourself I used to be my own biggest hater okay I would be so mean to myself I would tell myself I'm ugly I'm stupid I'm never going to be successful I'm unlucky I'm never going to achieve things in life like before I had confidence I was the biggest hater of myself and I realized that the quality of people in my life started drastically improving when I started treating myself better and it's so cheesy but it's true you can only love others if you know how to love yourself and I did not understand that until I started loving myself when I stopped self-deprecating and feeling bad for myself and started being my own cheerleader being my own hype woman telling myself I got this is I can do this I will get through this your confidence is going to radiate and other people are going to treat you the way that you deserve work to build your resume every day people like to complicate confidence and it's really not that complicated okay I'm going to break it down for you I used to think like oh I have to get this surgery and fix myself to be confident I need a bigger butt to be confident I need to act like this to be confident no you will only have true confidence when you have value in your life and your value is going to come from what I like to call your resume of success and your resume is going to be built with big things and small things they both count all of it counts so for example it could be you getting your bachelor's degree and graduating from college getting your dream job starting your dream family starting to post on social media as a content creator learning a new language you've always wanted to learn finally finishing the book that you said you're going to read whatever it is your resume of success is going to be built by you committing yourself to something and getting the damn thing done being a woman or man of your word no matter how big or how small everything counts and the way that I like to think of my self-improvement journey is I want to use every single single day to work to build my resume
