Alright ninja nerds we're going to take a look at the tibia and the fibula right now so lets look here this is our tibia here this bone and this is the fibula all right now again the tibia is actually going to be on the medial side so I like to remember "tibs" in "fibs" out tibia is the medial bone and then fibula is the lateral bone so we're going to take a closer look now at the tibia so what we're looking at now is the proximal epiphyses of the tibia so if you look here we've got the structure popping out this is called the intercondylar imminence right there then if you look right here this is actually going to be the articulating surface of the lateral condyle and this one is articulating surfaces of the medial condyle this whole bump right there is the medial condyle this whole bump right here is a lateral condyle ok if you look right here this is the tibial tuberosity right there that's now we're going to kind of bring this in like this and this guy right here this is the anterior border or crest and then we're going to come down here and if we look over here this big old thing right here popping out is called the medial malleolus the medial malleolus and then if you look here you can kind of see a little bump there and that's where the fibula actually attaches it to the distal tibia fibular attachments with actually forms the distal tibia fibular joint and if i come down here you can actually see another part right there and that's where the also the part of the fibula the head of the fibula attaches right there forms the proximal tibiofibular joint alright so we're going to take a look at the fibula so what we're looking at here is the head of the fibula you can tell its the head because its a lot chunkier its a really really chunky part of it so this is the head of the fibula then what I'm going to do is kind of flip it over here you guys can see this portion this portion right here is actually going to be the lateral malleolus and you can tell that because it's actually going to have a nice flat surface so its more flatter on that side so thats going to be the lateral malleolus
