hi if you're new to the channel thanks for coming over and welcome and if you're returning welcome back in this brief video we'll look at how to answer a six mark analyze gcse business question and if you stick around to the end there'll be a bonus example and also a tip there are two different six markers in your gcse paper this video will focus on the analyze question and another video will focus on the six mark discuss question there will also be further videos on how to answer other edexcel gcse business questions to help you maximize marks so do not forget to like and subscribe and click that notification bell six mark analyzed questions appear in section b there are two of these analyzed questions in each paper there is no need for a definition in your answer you're assessed on ao2 for application and ao3a for analysis it's very important that you ensure that you're linking back to the case study an answer that does not link to the case study cannot get above three marks if you need tips on how to include application in your answers then do check out this video i'll place the link in the description box the six mark questions typically will require you to analyze the impact the benefit the drawback or a factor it can be positive or negative but you must explain in context you must have five linked strands such as because leads to therefore in addition and as a result those are some examples now when structuring your answer you could include one point and have five link strands or you could include two points and have the five linked developed strands my preference is to have two points we'll take a look at an example where you can see how that's done on to the six mark exemplar question and answer now for your six mark analyze question in the exam you would have a case study for the sake of this video we're just focusing on the answer we're focusing on application and also the five link strands the question reads analyze the impact of competitors to jaden's bakery first sentence i'm getting straight to the point as you should and also using a word in the question so the question uses the word impact so my first sentence i'll use the word impact one impact that competitors could have on jaden's bakery is that jaden would need to provide good quality cookies and chocolate muffins for customers to purchase i'm keeping the answer in context this would lead to there's our first link strand the bakery having a competitive advantage over other bakeries such as bacon cakes in the local wilson area also keeping it in context this would therefore increase the sales of soft drinks and croissants at jaden's bakery from the additional revenue this may result in jaden being able to purchase the specialized oven link into the case study that he has been hoping to acquire on to the second paragraph another impact again using a word in inner question is that jaden's bakery may expand their product range of baked goods this means that so that's our fourth link strand the bakers and jaden may need to decide on offering more types of cakes and pastries in order to stand up from the competition this would lead to jaden's bakery being able to target a wider range of customers to purchase their cakes so as you can see five linked strands have been used and also there's been consistent application throughout let's take a look at a tip for you to include when writing your six mark analyze answer so here it is you need to ensure that you use paragraphs to separate your answer this improves the readability of it for the examiner thank you for watching this video good luck in your studies [Music] you
