as previously mentioned with maps the scores appearing on the screen are not as important as the conversations we're having with our client when a client is performing an overhead squat it is important to see their body's movements with your eyes this is going to ensure that you are catching some of those indicators visually but more importantly specifically stating what you saw adds so much more value to you the flexologist and now that we have learned a little bit more about those indicators that could pop up on our map scan let's take a look at some real life application first of all as a flexologist it's important to set yourself up for success for when you are watching your client this could be by using the anterior and the lateral views just to see the movements that are happening throughout the body throughout that squat let's take a look at this first Squat and we have Joven here is going to help us out so we have our first Squat and what I want you to do Javen is just kind of Shuffle around be nice and neutral when you're ready those arms are going to go up above over your head and you're going to perform those three overhead squats now what do you notice what indicators do you notice and possibly anticipate being on that map screen better yet what stretches could you possibly be utilizing for what you just saw feel free fre to pause take back a few seconds and review test yourself before moving forward and if you're ready to move forward let's review what we saw did you happen to notice limited dorsy flexion in the ankles the heels were Rising so that could possibly mean some calf stretches also a little bit of a hip hinge coming forward as well as those arms slightly falling down we could have some tight hip flexors needing some hip flexor stretches and with the arms falling it could be a variety of things first could be lats maybe those lats are pulling those arms down so think about some stretches for that area and maybe some issues going on on the interior shoulder PEC area right so maybe some of those muscles are pulling those arms down what did you catch did you get those let's take a look at our second squat again Shuffle around get nice and neutral over you're going to raise those arms up when you're ready three overhead squats when you're ready what indicators are you catching anything different what stretches could you possibly use and wear great once again feel free to pause take back a few seconds test yourselves have some fun if you're ready to move on which indicators did you catch did did you happen to notice the knees caving in adductors possibly tight right those inner thighs what about the slight shift favoring to the left side right maybe that left side is a Little Bit Stronger maybe there are some injuries on the right side and maybe that left side's just working a little bit harder and the last thing did you catch how deep her squat was how that limited squat depth was occurring that could be possible tightness in the quads glutes so think about what you're catching and what you could possibly do to help it please remember that catching these indicators visually help you better prepare yourself for those discussions you are going to have better yet be more confident in doing so
