Migrating File Server Files to Microsoft 365

okay so you've got a file server you have Microsoft 365. you want to get rid of that file server but what does it look like to have your file server files those file shares migrated up into Microsoft 365. well I'm going to show you right now so first let's go down into traditional map drives on a file server so here we go we got some map drives let me let me Point into the M Drive marketing if I click on that I've got some subfolders I've got files I can drag and drop and copy and paste all that stuff that you're used to doing what does it look like inside of Microsoft 365 when I build this out in teams and then sync it using OneDrive so you can see on the left side I've got this little building icon almost looks like a little bit of a server and then I have these folders Finance HR legal marketing blah blah and it says general you can think of General as the root folder it's a teams thing and I won't get into that in this video but if I click through here you can see I've got subfolders I've got files I can do the same drag and drop and copy and paste and a million other features that you get by have I mean those files inside of Microsoft 365 because the technology that runs all this is SharePoint but you don't have to go to a web portal to access your files you can do everything through Windows File Explorer so if you're interested to learn more you can click through this video to watch my long form demo heavy video about what it looks like and the features you get when you have your files inside of Microsoft 365.
