Introduction

Today's session covers the operation of the Cub Cadet LT46 XT1 Enduro series tractor, featuring a 46-inch mower deck and equipped with a Kohler 7000 series 22 horsepower engine.

Checking the Oil

  1. Locate the oil dipstick.
  2. Pull out the dipstick, wipe it clean, reinsert it, and then pull it out again to check the oil level.
  3. Ensure the oil level is between the indicated marks on the dipstick.

Gasoline Usage

  • The tractor uses unleaded gasoline.
  • The gas tank includes a level indicator visible by opening the hood or through the indicator.

Controls Description

Throttle and Choke

  • Throttle can be adjusted to turtle (slow) or rabbit (fast).
  • For choke, move the throttle beyond the full speed position to start the engine in cold conditions.

Brake/Clutch

  • Combination of a brake and clutch pedal.
  • Disengages the hydrostatic transmission and activates the braking system.

Blade Engagement (PTO lever)

  • Situated on the side of the seat.
  • Flip to engage the mower deck.

Mower Deck Adjustment

  • Lever on the side adjusts the cutting height of the mower deck.

Pedals

  • Forward and reverse pedals control driving direction.

Ignition and Safety Switches

  • Right side features an ignition switch with positions for stop, on, and crank.
  • Emergency brake lock is next to the brake/clutch for starting the engine safely.

Reverse Operation

  • Special attention is needed to engage in reverse; the reverse button must be used.

Hour Meter

  • Used for tracking maintenance schedules.

Starting the Engine

  1. Press the brake/clutch fully.
  2. Engage the emergency brake handle.
  3. Set the throttle to choke.

  5. Once started, adjust the throttle to the desired running speed.

Mower Deck Operation

  • Lower the mower deck using the adjustment lever.

Hydrostatic Transmission Push Feature
