Hey everybody this is Brad from Johnson's Small
Engines better known as the one-handed mechanic if i can do it you can too we have here a
LT46 Cub Cadet it's an XT1 Enduro series it has a 46-inch mower deck and I'm going to show
you how to operate it I'm going to open up the hood and we're gonna check the oil first okay so
you here's the oil this one has the Kohler 7000 series 22 horsepower engine uh there is different
engines and a lot of different of the cup tractors so the this is the XT-1 and door series and this
has a 22 horsepower Kohler series engine on it full dip stick out you want to make sure
you're between the two dots there and this has brand new oil in it so you can't even tell
but make sure you always wipe it off and then check it this one's a very easy dip stick you
basically push it in and check it pull it out and see where it's at this one's right below
the higher dot right there so it's perfect gas tanks here it does have a little level
indicator right here so you can see how much gas you have in it or you can just open the hood and
look in there it says right here unleaded only as far as the controls on it we have the throttle
here we have turtle rabbit and choke okay so that's a little sign for choke so this will go up
to full speed here and you'll feel it hit a notch and then when you want to put up in a choke you
have to bump this up a little bit up and choke hold it and choke until it starts and then
bring it down I usually bring it down to medium throttle a little bit less than that
depending on the temperature outside right here we have your brake slash clutch it's both it
disengages the hydra and also puts the brake on on the other side we have some handle levers over
here this is your blade engagement this is the PTO handle that engages your deck so when you engage
the mower deck you're just going to flip this in lock it in right there and that engages your mower
deck and I'll go over that when we show you how to do the reverse button this is your height for your
up and down on your mower deck so you basically just push it to the left up and down just put it
mower where you like it and all the way up here it's the highest you can go and then you can just
run it that way if you want to pedals down here forward and reverse and then we have our ignition
switch here and that's a stop and then this this guy right here is just a reverse button here
and I'm going to show you how to operate that and then you have on and then crank okay now
this also has an hour meter which is very nice and it's a nice feature for maintenance okay
so to start it up you're going to push your brake slash clutch in all the way and then you
have this brake handle here that's your emergency brake handle you can put it down and it will lock
in your clutch that also will prevent you from moving and it also will allow you to start the
engine if you don't have the brake slash clutch pushed all the way in the tractor will not start
over here on this side once you have the brake in you just turn to on now this is where you're
gonna have it when you're gonna be riding in reverse okay and i'm gonna go over that with
your minute but i just want to start it up so we're also going to put the throttle over here
up into the choke position which is right above the click you'll feel it and the indentation is
right there that's fast that's where you want to be when you're cutting grass but to start the
tractor all the way up on choke i usually just hold it there and then turn the key to crank and
as soon as it starts up you're going to bring it you push the brake down the lever here the handle it actually popped up on its
own which is a nice feature now as far as engaging the mower deck
we want to show you right now how to engage the mower deck i'm going to put
the mower deck down a couple notches this is the handle i'm going to see since you
guys can hear me when i engage the mower deck we're going to go forward and i'm going to show
you what you have to do to cut your reverse engage now we're going to go
forward now if you want to reverse see that on some people decide to leave
it on if you don't want to leave it on leave it on if you want to get the
job done okay now i'm going to turn the engine off i'm going to disengage some of it turn the engine off i do want to show you if you
have to push this thing make sure your emergency brake is off and we have a rod in the back
this is a hydrostatically driven transmission so this rod in the back here it shows a person
right here pushing it and they choose a person driving so what they're trying to show you
here is this this bar right here is out okay so you pull it all the way out and then you
can push the tractor as it shows right there make sure your emergency brake is off now you
can push this tractor it's really easy to push okay you do not want to push this tractor with
that in the in position it's not good for the transmission so when you're ready to go again
just make sure you push it in I've had people actually get on their machines hit the forward
pedal and wonder why they're not going anywhere and that is because the hydro release valve can
be out I mean you could have other problems but if it's a new machine and you went and pushed
it somewhere you ran out of gas or something you forgot to push the rod back in again then that's
the problem you have to make sure that rods in I did not mention one thing here as far as
the seat goes underneath the seat we do have the battery right here and then as far as your seat
adjusting goes you have a little handle here and all you have to do is push it up and then the
seat will slide up and down on these brackets so you can move it so when it's down when you're
sitting down all you have to do is pull this up and then you can move it forward or backward and
it just locks in wherever you want it it's a nice feature on the seat there you guys have any
questions on this that should be it for uh how to operate the cub cadet LT46 XT1 Enduro series
tractor it has the Kohler 7000 series engine on it if you guys like this video please give it a
thumbs up please subscribe and thanks for watching.
