and welcome back to another cabal concept thank you for tuning in today it is a Total Wellness Tuesday and we are talking about something near and dear to my heart today today something that um I love talking about because not enough people are really chatting about this subject and the reason is it just hasn't hit mainstream yet just like you know 20 years ago when people weren't using functional training equipment like stability balls medicine balls kettle bells all those types of things it just wasn't trendy and now you could never imagine going to a gym without seeing some of those things like all the different color dumbbells and kettle bells and sandbags and all that fun stuff well there's something that isn't mainstream yet in overall Natural Health and that's detoxification so detoxification is it's simply kind of like the wild card right now I was like oh yeah people know that they should kind of do it they've heard about it but they don't know if it's real or not real whatever it might be well I just want to let you know that detoxification is happening in your body every second millisecond of the day whether you're thinking about it or not and that's because if it didn't happen you would be dead your liver is literally cleaning those toxins your body is producing immune cells your kidneys are filtering everything from all the different waste products to the acids to proteins that they shouldn't necessar be even filtering um all of those things are keeping you well keeping you healthy well the big thing though is now we're talking about intermittent fasting and we're talking about all of these things but indirectly we're always talking about detoxification like literally all of these things by not eating is allowing your body an easier time to detoxify and my big thing is we're always talking about adding more okay add this greens add these vitamins add these supplements all great things don't get me wrong all very very good but we're never talking about taking out what we have too much of and so today I'm not going to go into the benefits of detoxification I will talk on those more in the future but I've also talked about them in the past so please listen to those previous episodes on detoxification what I want to talk about today is the difficulty that people often have while going through a detox we're not talking about a drug or alcohol-based detoxification we're talking about cleaning the body and what that means is every literally every second of the day we're exposed to some type type of toxin whether it's in the air whether it's the pesticides in the food we eat whether it's the chlorine or aluminum in the tap water that you drink and even if you don't drink tap water if you drink a tea or coffee or you anything with ice cubes you're being exposed to that as well because that's coming from the stores tap water so you are being exposed to it and every single person I've ever tested in my practice and I'm guaranteeing that every single person in the world will come back showing toxins in their body the just National Geographic did a study on it there's just so many studies on it typically people have at least 70 that they're seeing like minimum of 70 that they're showing of serious carcinogenic toxins those toxins create anything from inflammation to cancer I mean like this is real serious stuff that we need to talk about but we'll save all of that for another day and talk about the reactions that people do have on a detox so it's like you need to do the detoxification but some people have a bad reaction to it and they call that what's called a herxheimer reaction there's a real name to it and someone a doctor named I always butcher his first name but yarish herxheimer came up with he figured out that these endotoxins which just Endo means produced inside of the body not exogenous overwhelms the body's capability to eliminate them that quickly so the more toxic you are the worse you would actually feel during a detox and that's because while you're allowing for this process called autoi to take place you may not have the immune-based support or liver-based support to actually help you through that detox you could actually feel worse while you're going through it even though you absolutely do need it because you have toxins in your body so you're giving your body a rest you're giving it the support that needs you may not feel your best for that intense part of the detox so let's talk about that what can you do you know you need to do it but how can you make it through so I'm just going to talk about the Dr Cal detox and how we formulate ours you are welcome to do any type of detoxification program that you feel is safe safe and effective for you I just need to give you at least a starting point and I developed it out of anything I could possibly pick in the entire world I got to choose anything I wanted so I might as well give you the research that I've looked at over the past two decades and why I formulated it so the hardest part of any detoxification is the intermittent fast of it that means essentially not eating whole food meals now why wouldn't you do that well you want all of your energy to go towards your immune system the detoxification the cleansing type process right and if you're putting food your body that's going to take a lot of energy that your body can then not use to detoxify your body the other part is when you put food in your body well you are creating waste product right I mean that just makes sense like even though it's healthy food there's still that waste byproduct and that again is something that has to not only use the energy of your body but it's tox it creates more toxins that's just the way it is when we breathe we actually create toxins byproducts of oxygen and when our cells die off which they're doing every single minute of the day you're creating toxins from the waste that comes from the apoptosis and the cells and you are creating waste and more toxins every time you do eat so we give the body a break whether it's for 12 hours 24 hours or 48 Hours like we do in the dral detox now I believe that our bodies are so toxic we can't just not eat we need to give it some type of support so what I do is give a specially formulated protein supplement with all of your multivitamins your minerals all that good stuff I'm not going to talk about it today but there's a reason why all of that is done and the reason is it's to support your liver your liver goes through what's called phase one intermediary metabolism and then Phase 2 detoxification when it goes through the process it takes these really harmful fat soluble toxins that are stored in your fat but as you're breaking down fat during this detox because people do lose 5 to 10 pounds in seven days that those toxins that body fat that has to go somewhere right just doesn't just disappear in your body your body has to remove it so what happens is your liver has to take these harmful stored toxins create a intermediary phase where then it's turned into basically a water soluble toxin that you can simply sweat out you can pee out or you can poop out that's the easiest way to say it so the nice thing is when you give up your liver the support it needs and yes it does need support absolutely does need support it takes vitamins and certain amino acids in phase one and then it takes sulfur-based amino acids and other like glutathione other things like that in phase two again you don't need to know how it works what you do need to know is that your liver needs support to be able to go through these processes can it do it yes but what happens is it can get overwhelmed and that's what we're talking about today and that's the herxheimer reaction so some people get headaches they get nauseous they may get constipated they might have loose stool they might get fever they might get chills they might get joint pain they might get through all of these different things that some people call a retracing method others just call the body being overwhelmed with toxicity and because your body's fighting it's trying really hard to remove this stuff just think of it as like pathogens stuff that shouldn't be there to get it out of your body and your liver has to do this work the whole time so which is why we're supporting it but some people it might be too intense too fast you know if you're getting nauseous if you're getting headaches now the headaches could be just cuz you're remove coffee or caffeine right so we do actually allow uh people to have one black coffee in the morning if it's going to allow them to get through the detox but you know ideally caffeine has to be metabolized by the liver and so we're just trying to give a liver the liver your liver a rest so what I would say is if you can not do the caffeine great but if the only way you're going to be able to get through the detox is do a black coffee absolutely do the black coffee I mean it's so much better to do the detox of course so let's say you have this bad reaction you're like I just can't go on with it and I would say you know we have uh I don't know a few hundred people minimum which we just started last month going through it so we'll say maybe one out of those people experiences this herxheimer reaction all right it's not a huge number but it's still you know they're they're there so we need to absolutely do take care of them and so what that means is this during your shakes even though it's just this powder and water if you're getting nauseous from the shakes you could try mixing it with a half a cup of frozen berries right make a smoothie drink it nice and slowly absolutely totally fine to do you're still making it through maybe your weight loss isn't as great but you're still doing amazing things for your body and you're still going to lose three to five pounds I'm sure you just might not lose 5 to 10 okay but you made it through and that's still fantastic and then the next time you do it you're less toxic you'll do even better okay so now let's talk about the people who you know really don't feel well like it's a real challenge I say if you can make it through try to make it through that second day you know just take it easy get a little extra rest drink a little bit more fluids don't work out during the first two days of that intermittent fast all right great you handled it oh you know you kind of lost it by that second day that's okay move to what we call the days three through seven phase and then it could be days 3 through 21 depending on the results that you're looking for if obviously the more time you do it the greater your weight loss results the greater your Wellness results the greater your anti-aging results because toxins lead to aging let's get back on track so what happens is this if you can't do just the shakes again that's okay go to our days 3 to 7 and what is days 3 to S because again you can do this on your own if you'd like you're doing a shake in the morning you're doing a vegetarian based lunch you're doing a shake in the afternoon and then you're going to do a whole food meal again at dinner it's all spelled out you can actually get the whole plan for free I mean my goal goal is to give you as much as I humanly can to make sure that you cost as much as eating food for the week but anyway I'm not here to to talk you into doing the actual detox I do want to tell you that whenever you're experiencing a juice-based or or which isn't the same thing as an actual detox I'm not going to get into that today as well your body is just overwhelmed right so it's not like you don't need to do this or you reacted poorly to the product necessarily it's that you most likely are overwhelmed your body's a little too toxic our typical clients who might run into this are ones that are maybe a little bit older who have not really eaten well maybe not exercised as well all of those specific things but again you're the one who needs it the most so I do hope it you don't shy away from it you're just looking to ease into it that first time nothing wrong with that at all I just want you to know like wherever you're at right now doing something is always better than nothing without a doubt I mean without a doubt so start with just days 3 to 7 if you can't do the two Shake fast days again you're always eating but if it's too much for you to do just those days start with days 3 to seven or just start with the Smoothie you know just start with the blueberries or whatever it might be the frozen berries in your smoothie to just make something that you even like to to drink that tastes great so again herxheimer reaction it is a real scientific thing it's been known about for quite a while first typically studied with antibiotic use and the die off of bacteria in your body having to deal with that but it can deal with any type of pathogens in the body I do hope this helps you out today I do want you to know that even though you might be experiencing this type of negative reaction what you call a negative reaction is actually your body still doing its best to heal itself don't shy away from it just mitigate some of those different issues you're having surrounding the detox and then try it again in another four
