in this video I'm going to show you how you can use the transcript from your teams meeting to create a well organized meeting recap using chaty PT chat PT can do a lot of amazing things but one thing that I find it does consistently well is organizing and summarizing long text I use it all the time to summarize long articles blogs and YouTube videos but it works amazingly well on meeting transcripts if you're a project manager or meeting facilitator this is going to save you a ton of time with many people on a hybrid work schedule it's become a common practice to have a teams or a zoom dial in even for in-office meetings and that's because often there's at least one or two people working remotely and if we're using these tools for our meetings we have access to their transcription feature both teams and zoom offer this feature but in this video I'm going to walk you through how to set this up using teams once you join a meeting go to meeting controls click on the three dotts for more and choose record and transcribe and you have two options here if you choose start recording it's going to record the meeting and do the transcription but if you just do start transcription it'll obviously just provide you with the transcription so unless someone in the meeting is actually sharing their screen I tend to go with the second option and I'll confirm that I want the spoken language is an English okay now it's showing that the transcription has started and I know that we don't have any other attendees in this meeting but as I talk you can see that the transcription is happening and it's assigning who the speaker is so obviously if there are other people in this meeting It'll recognize who's actually speaking now when you're done you can go back to this three dots menu go back to record and transcribe and you can say stop transcription or you can just simply leave the meeting and that'll end the transcription you can find your transcription in several different ways the easiest way for me is to go to the team's calendar and locate the meeting and double click into it and you can actually see the transcript over here but if you don't find it you can always go to the top menu choose recording and transcription you'll see the actual transcription here but you have the option to download so I'm going to click on the down arrow and I'm going to choose you can choose either one but I'm going to choose the vtt option now once that's been downloaded I'm going to right click and choose open withth and select my notepad and then from here all you have to do is do crl a to select all contrl C and then next we'll paste it into chat PT now in Chach PT we can give it a prompt I'm going to write summarize the meeting transcript organized by key topics and output the results in table format at the bottom of the table list out key follow-up actions arranged by the task assign e for both used bullets as needed and as you can see the result is amazing you can simply copy and paste this into your one note or you can paste it into your email message and send it out directly to your meeting attendees now I realize this is somewhat of a manual process and I hope that when the co-pilot becomes more widely available and accessible to Everyday users that'll help automate processes like this but until then I don't think this is a heavy lift and I think the small effort is well worth it anyway hope you found this video helpful if you want other tips on how to leverage AI for productivity then check out these videos [Music] next
