  • Firmware Requirements: Only specific firmware versions (3.20 - 4.50) can be modded. Downgrading firmware is not possible.
  • Model Numbers: Helpful chart to determine moddable units; older sealed PS5 have lower firmware versions.
  • Outcome: Successfully found a moddable PS5 with firmware 3.2.

Jailbreaking Process

  • Disable Firmware Updates: Prevent automatic updates before connecting to the internet.
  • Exploit: Done through the user guide, navigating indirect redirects to access Google and execute the jailbreak.
  • Result: Successfully modded PS5.

What You Can Do with a Modded PS5

  • Debug Settings: New menu with developer options.
    • Package Installer: Install homebrew, emulators, and game backups (PS4 & PS5 games).

    • Items Flow: Manage and dump game rips, including PS5 games.

Playing Online with a Modded PS5

  • EasyFN: Modded client to run older Fortnite versions with unlocked content.
