Welcome back to the channel and today I
want to show you what you can expect from Copa's Business Class on the 737 MAX9.
I finally got the opportunity to fly the MAX9 with the lay flat business class
seats after multiple failed attempts due to everything that's going on and the grounding of
this aircraft. I finally got the opportunity to try this product out and I was pretty impressed.
It's quite an upgrade from what you normally find on Copa as far as the seats are concerned. You can
see here; let's take a detailed look at the seat. They left a pillow and blanket for you
at the seat. The business cabin is in a 2-2 configuration. The power outlet is
up top as well as the headphone jack. It will be on your left side; you also have
a light there on your left side as well. You have the standard windows. You're
not going to get the Dreamliner windows; which I am glad because those don't really
work well when it comes to direct sunlight in the window with the auto dimming. You have a
fairly narrow foot well. Here is the tray table that comes out that comes out of the right side
of the median divider. Keep in mind with the 2-2 configuration you're not going to have much
privacy as you you really wouldn't expect that in a two-two configuration anyway. Here you have
a place where the safety pamphlet is. You can't really store anything there. Here's the seat
controls off to the right and you do have individual air nozzles which is always a plus
because you can control how cold you want to be in the cabin. On the left side you have a moveable
armrest. This slides down and gives you a little more room sleeping; which is good. I did find it
helpful for a little bit more room when sleeping. I like to do this just to give you an idea of
the space while laying flat. I am 5 foot 11 so you have an idea of what you can expect as
far as how tight the footwell might be for you. Especially if you're taller than this and how
much you might have to bend your knees. This is definitely going to be a side sleeping
situation. They did hand out bottled water only. No champagne or orange juice option unfortunately.
An amenity kit was handed out before the flight. You also have the Dreams headphones, which I
mean they serve their purpose but that's about all I will say they do. You will be better
off with your Bose Quiet Comfort's to use, but after the takeoff I will talk about the
rest of this flight. I will see you in a minute Okay let's look at the bathroom here in the
737 MAX9. It's a pretty standard bathroom. I will mention it must be a thing with all the
MAX8/9 that water splashes out like crazy. It does this on American Airlines MAX8 and United's MAX9.
It just must be a quirk with this aircraft. I did feel this bathroom wasn't as tight as the max 8
and max 9 bathrooms on American and United but you can check out my review on those as well.
One odd thing to note is they serve snacks first because this flight departs at a 1:33
in the morning so it's an odd time and they serve breakfast two hours before
landing. I had the granola with fruit, yogurt and the French Toast. The French
Toast was pretty good with the warm fruit, which included some oranges and raspberries.
Keep the timing of this flight in mind as far as the service flow goes because of its odd the
departure time at 1:33 so they don't serve a meal right away. It will be two hours before you
land and the flight is about six hours and 45 minutes or so give or take. Lets take a quick
look at the in-flight entertainment system. I will just let you follow along. The long and
short of it is that the screen is responsive. While Copa doesnt have the most extensive
library for entertainment odds are good you will find something you like. At least one
movie to get through is good enough on a flight of this length. Especially leaving at that hour
because most people are going to sleep anyway. I will let you take a look at this and
I will be back with my final thoughts. Okay so let me talk about some of my final
thoughts on this flight. Again one thing you want to keep in mind if you're taking CM453, it
does leave at 1:33 in the morning so as far as food options go at Ezeiza International Airport in
Buenos Aires you do have the star alliance lounge which is open late. As of right now I believe
the Centurion Lounge from American Express is only open until 2300. With their three
hour rule where you can only get in 3 hours before your departure time you
can only get in essentially puts you at 2230. So 30 minutes in the Centurion
Lounge I don't think is worth it to enjoy. I would say definitely the Star Alliance
Lounge; which is self-serve now. Although the food quality is not nearly as good as the
Centurion Lounge but it's an option that could tide you over until you are served breakfast
on this flight two hours before your arrival. Another thing to note is no wi-fi. It is kind
of a shame you had a great product like this but no wi-fi on this aircraft. I don't think any
Copa has wi-fi on any of its aircraft. It just seems wi-fi is something that Latin American
airlines really don't invest in in my opinion. No menus were handed out so you were given the
choice of French Toast or an Omelet I believe. They will give you a bottle of water
and amenity kits were handed out. I found the seat pretty comfortable and keep
in mind you're not gonna have a private seat as one wouldn't expect with the 2-2 configuration
but I did not have a seat mate so that helped not having to step over somebody. All in all it
was a a good flight and the crew was friendly. Remember their is no wi-fi on the plane
so it's just something to keep in mind if you're thinking about working. You
will want to get it done before you hop on this flight. That was Copa's MAX9
in Business Class with lay flat seats from Buenos Aires to Panama City. As always I
appreciate you watching. Please hit the like button, subscribe to the channel, and share this
with a friend. I will see you next time thank you.
