hi everyone this is mrs martinez alejandre i am one of the school counselors at mission hills high school today i wanted to show all students how to request an unofficial or official transcript um there will be some universities that you've gotten into that they want your official transcript and so i'm going to show you the portal where you can go in and request you'll find that some scholarships want your official transcript or um let's say ncaa is asking for your official transcript or maybe you just want an unofficial transcript for yourself and so um this is the website that you would go to to request one and so it's called parchment.com so i wanted to show you guys just go on your um search engine and just go ahead and put parchment.com or you can actually go into the google search engine and like i type it in but this is a website that you would have to um create an account first in order to go into the portal to request a transcript so this parchment.com what you would what we want you guys to do is scroll down here and it says like i would like to and then you're going to click on order my transcript or credentials okay it's going to take you to this next page um it's asking okay or where are you ordering from okay you're going to put the name of the school which is mission hills high school and you want to pick the one in san marcos because there's one in san francisco so just make sure you pick san marcos california click on it okay and it takes you to this page right and so you want to click that you are a new learner account click on new learner account and then make sure you um read the message from mission hills high school it says welcome to parchment we are offering the service to make ordering transcripts easier for you it is also more efficient for your school and will deliver your transcripts to colleges you choose in a format they prefer okay again you can send it off to scholarships you can send it off to like coaches or to the ncaa like you can use this portal to be able to send it to you okay now you're going to click on i do not have a registration code and then you're going to type in your information for this account i'll just type in my own information um i might be making up like a few little things but i just want to make sure that i guide you guys through the process so my first name is susan i don't have a middle name and then i am not so don't click i am a parent or leader guardian because you're a student creating it and then april 4th i'm going to put this is not my year i was born i'm just going to put 1985 okay the gender is optional i'm going to leave my link start year if your senior your start year was 2018 and then the last year attended will be 2022 highest level of education i'm going to put both great okay and then email this is where and then a password this is my password that i'm creating for myself okay and then um i'll go ahead and put so it's asking you i am interested in being discovered by colleges universities and other organizations through parchment and its partnerships for academic purposes including recruitment for me i don't i don't want to be contacted by a lot of outside organizations i'm going to put no it's up to you what you would like to do so i'm going to stop my sharing my screen because i'm going to create a password and then i'll move on to to the next slide just give me a moment and just make sure that make sure that when you use your email that you are using your personal email do not use your school email because your school email will be deactivated after you graduate okay i'm going to share my screen again okay and so when i punch in all the information this is what i get so it's telling me to verify um my verification code um and so what i'm going to do is i'm going to go into my personal email to get that verification code all right i'm looking down because i'm looking at my personal email trying to get the verification code [Music] go ahead and type in your verification code okay and so then it this next page shows up it says to choose your um your privacy settings and then you want to go like make sure you read it um but when you come to um this question i recognize the confidential nature of the secondary school report and other recommendations and you go ahead and click i wave my rights to access okay this is giving us permission to send your transcript to wherever you want it to be sent and click save and continue okay and then this is the next page where it says available credentials and then it gives me the option to order a transcript so i'm going to click on order okay and it says where would you like to send your credentials so if my plan is to attend cal state san marcos i'm going to type in cal state san marcos is it showing up on here let's see it's not so i'm just going to type in san marcos and see if anything comes up here okay so as you guys can see it's the first one here at cal state san francisco let's just say that's where i plan to go to school out and they're already asking for my final transcript okay and so this transcript is um free and so um what you want to do is so some universities will be asking for um your final senior year transcript and so what you want to do is you don't want to send it now like well right now it's april 8th because we don't have your final grades for this semester right so you want to click on hold for grades okay so what that allows it to do is um allows us to send it when you have your final grades and for the semester like if your university wants it now asap then go ahead and click send now but if they're asking for your second semester senior grades then um click hold for grades okay and then you're going to go ahead and do a signature and then you're gonna type in your first name and then your last name and then i certify under penalty law that i am the individual above and i'm authorized to take this action i click continue okay and then you're going to click on complete order okay so once you click i'm not going to press complete order for myself because i'm just acting as a student creating this account but go ahead and click complete order when you are writing okay and so um on you can always like after you complete your order you can always like browse through the dashboard and this will go ahead and tell you like what orders or where you've um requested to to send your transcripts um you can you know look at your orders there's al also like a college tool that you guys can use if you want um but yeah this is parchment.com so um if you have any questions uh please reach out to your school counselor we're here to help but again this is for a tool that is to be used um to be able to order your official transcripts to be sent again to universities colleges um ncaa scholarships that are asking for it um just be mindful of when they want you to send it so do they want you to send it asap then you order now if they want it at the end um when your second semesters and your grades are in then you hold for grades um until they're provided okay thank you guys um take care
