Welcome to the High School Tasking Tutorial, which will walk you through the tasking process for high schools and help answer some frequently asked questions. The NCAA Eligibility Center asks high schools to upload requested information rather than emailing or faxing the information. This process has a few benefits.
One, documents are uploaded directly into our system, which eliminates the former delay of opening, coding, logging, and saving documents into the right place. Two, you can see immediately in your account that the document has been uploaded and received. This cuts down on phone checking on the receipt of the document.
And three, you see immediately when the document has been reviewed. This will indicate that our staff has reviewed the document and made a decision on the question at hand. This also cuts down on phone calls to determine if the information has been reviewed. There are many different reasons a task could be assigned to a high school. We will mention a few of the most common reasons.
A student has registered with the NCAA Eligibility Center and selected your high school as being attended. For these tasks, you will want to view the transcript upload tutorial. Additional documentation is needed for a course that was submitted.
For these tasks, you will want to view the Managing Your Core Course List tutorial. Schools that are being newly reviewed or are new to the NCAA process will receive tasks. For these tasks, you will want to view the New School Review Process tutorial. Non-traditional coursework from your school or program requires review or many other reasons.
We will briefly go over how the tasking process works and then walk you through an example of uploading documents for your assigned tasks. The primary and secondary contacts on your school's account will receive a task notification via email. You will need to log in to your high school's account on the high school portal to read the task instructions.
You will then need to upload the requested documents to your account and monitor the account for any updates or additional tasks. Now, let's take a look at how the process works with a task example. You must be logged into your high school's account in order to view your open tasks.
Once you are logged in, click the Tasks button at the top of the page. In this example, we have been assigned a task to upload a course catalog. Let's click the Click Here to Upload Documents link. To upload the document or documents, click the Browse button, which will allow you to browse through your computer to find the document to attach. If you save the document to your desktop, it will make the process quicker and easier.
After finding and attaching the correct document, click the Upload button. You will be asked whether you have uploaded all that is required. Select Yes or No. You will receive a confirmation notice once your submission is complete.
If you have more tasks to complete, you can click the Go Back to Tasks page button. If you are finished, you may simply log out of the portal. Let's go back to the task page. You will be able to see the date of your submission under the School Response Date column.
You will see that our upload was successful. If the Task Completed Date field is blank, it means the documentation has not yet been reviewed. Once the NCAA Eligibility Center staff has reviewed the information and has made a decision, the staff will complete the task and the date will appear in the Task Completed field. If you have questions or are unable to submit documents for your open task, please contact the Customer Service Center at 877-622-2321.
