what's up sharks my name is Brett Parker and I'm Stephanie Parker and we're from Fort Worth Texas our company is sleeping baby and we're here seeking an investment of 200 000 in exchange for 10 of our company for new parents the most valuable commodity is sleep you'll do anything to get your baby to sleep longer our product is a sleep Insanity saver for parents and babies everywhere when our daughter Charlotte was a newborn we practiced the swaddle technique where we wrapped her up like a little burrito and a tight and cozy fit helped her sleep through the night this is our son Maverick [Music] snug in a swaddle like most babies eventually they break out and they start scratching their face waking themselves up our daughter as she got older began waking up every 15 minutes we were exhausted we knew that we had to do something to transition off the swaddle out of desperation and exhaustion I sat down on my little sewing machine and the fabulous Zippity zip was born like a swaddle it mimics the Cozy enclosed environment of the womb but it also allows a baby to push up and roll over and wiggle around safely and freely I'll show you a little bit how it works so this is our little Sun Maverick again bleeping in a Zippity zip any startles and as you can see because of the slight resistance in the arms he's able to put himself back to sleep without my help sleep is important no matter what anybody tells you hustle grind culture no sleep sleep is critical look I don't get enough sleep uh because my daughter is one of those kids that literally from the night she was you know from the day she was born uh did not get a lot of sleep and it makes life so much difficult if you don't have kids or you you have kids that know how to go to sleep my son on the other hand he he no he's been you know a pretty good sleeper for the most part for uh except for the fact that like now in the last like year he just wakes up in the middle of the night you know it's one o'clock two o'clock three o'clock um my wife used to let him jump into our bed but then that would end up waking me up and then I would never fall back to sleep and you know if I go to bed at 10 or 11 or God you know heaven forbid uh midnight uh then then I was like I'm not getting much sleep because by 3 A.M you know I'm up and I'm not gonna go back to bed so uh so she ends up in his bed sleeping with him and we try to we you know we've tried a bunch of ways to keep that going but I mean he's five now and and Ava's seven so we you know Ava still to this day does not want to go to sleep like she fights it at every step of the way um I remember that we actually did get this product at some point uh when my daughter was was quite young to try to mitigate it and I would say that while it helped it did not correct uh the the issue um with her and and and sleep she her mind just does not turn off that's that's effectively what it is and we I I try cons and I as a sufferer of that and as a super entrepreneur yourself watching this you probably have similar issues where your brain just does not you got ideas and things flowing through and and all that so um it's it's a it's a it makes it really tough it makes it really really tough while not only the kid but also on the parents uh because we can't sleep but they're not sleeping uh because they'll just scream across Ava would scream and cry till she threw up so that was the other thing like oh just you just let her cry it out like then she's throwing up all over the crib it's a it's a it's a it's a problem she would just cry and cry and cry until she just threw up everywhere um and not just like spit up like projectile everywhere it was you know so yeah it's like two o'clock in the morning and we're cleaning up throw up all over the yeah it was not good anyway uh I I don't I don't really remember watching this pitch at the time uh or or you know I'm pretty sure I have seen it which is how we ended up getting it uh but I I don't remember how it went we're gonna check in on uh see if we can find some updates online as well check out their website social media everything at the end make sure you stay tuned and we're gonna feature one of your comments from Down Below in the super community at the end of the video so you can see the fabulous quality so who startled the baby just to make a great video me I know right I was like oh gosh what's yours got On It Kevin monsters okay so what why don't you tell us how much should have been dollar bills just say any of these little Straight Jackets you're selling we've sold a few we've sold about 25 000. what do you sell them for 34 95 to 39.95 five when did you start selling two and a half years so we've sold a little over a million dollars worth wow oh you sell them direct you sell them wholesale 100 of our business is through our own site online out there about it how do people know to get it there's an incredible community of moms that when their babies are sleeping they talk we have done no marketing guys we're trying to make 200 a month so my wife could stay at home with the baby we've invested 700 into this business total total that's it yeah yeah 100 website grab 200 of the fabric and said through it together and when we went live we did 200 in five minutes shut it off my wife said my wife said what am I going to do and I said you're going to learn how to sew a baby when they're stuck in a womb for a really long time they're in that little tiny ball right and so when they are out of the womb all of a sudden there's this freedom and they have something called a moral reflex a what a Moro reflex it's a startle reflex so that when a baby puts their arms out they kind of feel like they're falling until they jolt and just like you saw right there and so they need to feel their edges is and if they're able to feel their edges then they're able to fall back asleep a lot more efficiently so it's a womb like protective State exactly right which is why the swaddle is supposed to be effective and it but swaddling is a pain in the butt swaddling comes undone um and then yeah it's it so the other the other thing that you can do that has worked you know helped ease some of the the pain that we've felt over the years uh is playing Brown noise uh which is like it's like white noise but instead of being like it's more like it's more of like a low breezing uh sound and you know that mimics this the amount of sound that that a baby infant or or well uh yeah would be would hear an experience inside the womb so that really goes a long way in uh you know just making noise and things like that and our kids to this day still still sleep with uh with brown noise turned on the problem with brown noise though is it doesn't muffle the high-pitched sounds like plates or or like like moving plates around the house in a kitchen or something um so anything that's like that you know white noise might be better for it to kind of drown that out um and getting them used to to have sound is is to me it's so important because you have um you have the uh you know where the ability to go and watch like we watch movies and stuff in our theater room and it and it gets loud like and but it's once they're asleep it's not a problem like they can sleep right through it you know but it's getting them to sleep is sometimes the the uh is the trick as for the business side because I feel like we've just been talking about babies on the brain us with this aside absolutely that's why I was digging the Bell 25 000 units sold um it's it could be very scary when things go ramp up super quick and you weren't really expecting it and you don't really have the the game plan for like oh well you know I mean you know oh my wife my wife can make just two hundred dollars a month she can stay home that seems I mean I know this video was like a I was getting close to like a decade old at this point from uh season six of Shark Tank the season premiere so it was probably like 2014 I believe is when it aired but like yeah I don't know 200 bucks is not I mean if maybe uh maybe like a thousand dollars a month you know it's like now you start to justify because that's always that's always the problem with having like side hustle small businesses is like is the uh well that's the what's that saying is the juice worth the squeeze right are you are you getting enough out of it for the amount that you're putting into it and yes you can make money but it's like you also still have uh you know you have a baby right or or maybe two babies uh and and it's like is it worth the effort that you're putting into it so you always want to be thinking uh is there going to be you know is there enough there for so that if it does you know is it worth the time I'm putting in right now and is there enough money there for me to be able to scale it out and I'm not saying scale of million two million eight million uh you know 100 million dollars a year I'm saying just enough to get to like if you have three thousand dollars in sales is do you have enough time to put into that and not sacrifice too much of time that you need with you know newborn baby or or whatever else you have going on in your life so always be looking at how am I spending my time is it worth that time um and you know like two three hundred bucks a month I mean isn't isn't terrible to be able to bring in and pay you know a couple a bill or two right and and kind of give something else to do having that mental state of something else to be accomplished other than just sitting with baby but if your baby ain't sleeping then uh that's a problem right but they they can't you know this uh was a Necessities the mother of all invention they saw they came they conquered it and they're knocking it out of the park with their pride now will it will is it worth a two million dollar evaluation if I had to guess Brett and Stephanie are coming in looking for uh you know maybe in the the 15 to 20 percent range I mean they've done a million today so please okay so if I gave you two hundred thousand dollars could you quadruple your production immediately and you know which excuse you would do that too I would do it with my new Prince that I know for a fact will sell and I'll tell you why I have actually vetted these prints with all of my online uh followers so they vote on them and they choose what they want I cannot tell I cannot tell you the community of women that um is part of our uh part of our process is just um it's it's mind-blowing um last last year we um we lost our our baby and we had an incredible community of people that were willing to be there for us and vice versa for them in terms of just feeling like they could go to our our social media pages and and share some of their hearts and so there's no duplicating that Steph so sorry so that I mean that's that is terrible for anybody to have to go through um one thing I will say though is vetting the vetting process if you're it's one thing to have people vote on a pattern it's a whole nother thing to have people vote on a pattern and actually buy right so so if the community is built with people who have already bought and they're giving you that kind of feedback awesome if that's not the case you know it's like everybody can vote on something that doesn't mean that that's going to necessarily translate into dollars for that um I mean it's a pattern versus the like a whole product in and of itself so it's not as far-fetched but still not um you know there's still a possible potential there for like oh we've really liked it compared to these but when it comes to actually buying maybe not turned into sales about your baby you know we if if so I am so grateful and he's in his Zippity zip sleeping right now you know it's interesting I have found throughout the years of creating product and dealing with a lot of different entrepreneurs that the people that are really putting out good have a lot of good coming back to them I think you're doing everything right thank you I like to give you an offer I'm gonna give you two hundred thousand but I'd like 25 percent because I think that it's going to require a certain amount of help from me in helping you to build the brand and get it out there but I really like the proof of concept thank you it's not unreasonable I mean to do you know a million in sales so they're they're profit you know they I don't think they mentioned what their I didn't at least I didn't write down what their cost was on each one just that there was 35 to 39 each so but I mean it's a piece of fabric uh so I'm gonna say a couple of like four bucks maybe um so and they're selling direct to their site so they're definitely making some profits so she's going to be cutting into a piece of that first of all we're grateful but if that's okay with you we'd love to hear some some other things do you want to go into retail is that one of the things you'd like to do would you want to keep this as a community online you know uh a lot of the questions that you guys ask we need to have definitive answers I don't know the answer to that you need to have that answer clear because I'm the guy who wants to take it to retail sure right but that doesn't mean that's the right answer you're making a clean you're going to bring in maybe a million dollars this year with no hassle of dealing with retailers sending it back you may not want to go to retail right you know these guys want to squeeze you when you go to retail well that would be my vision and we're about mine too it's just a matter of we've never crossed that bridge so let me chime in that's a great bridge to not have to cross uh because return you know returns will will sink you Pat when you deal with patterns like it's great when you can you know make to make them for order um or something that you know as the orders come in you you make it so you only buy so much fabric it's a whole nother thing when you have an order for a hundred thousand units you got to get them produced you got to get them shipped out there and then one of those patterns doesn't sell that's a big you know this pattern didn't sell now you're trying to fire sell them on your website right that's clearancing them and that's where you can run into to issues it's like well yeah there's only so much of it but when we we're talking about its scale it's the is the community that you have built up big enough to support those kinds of returns that are going to be coming back to be able to fire sell them out and then not cut into the profit too much uh because you already you know could be selling them right on your website and making a lot more money um the other problem is is if you don't have a patent you're not going to be able to protect this like some other fabric company is going to be like hey we could Stitch this together too and make it happen here um my family when they moved to North America they brought a business called Kitty's talks with them that's what my grandfather started and they made exactly the explode identical really yep they were in existence when we could make this stuff in America at a cost that was competitive and when it transitioned to Asia they got killed retail is a very difficult Beast to manage I think this connection you've created with your base is unique and it's it's from the heart it's hard to listen your story without getting emotional it's so powerful I do your deal um 200 000 for 20 percent there you go I do not want to see you die in retail I was really surprising to actually take that deal because that would be a first ever this is my own family business all over again except with people that have figured it out in a new world I mean that that is a feel-good story for uh for Kevin doesn't always get those but uh I would you know it it really kind of validates Lori's offer at 25 percent um but she wants to go into retail but she's going to be she she will help manage that versus you know Kevin 20 it's you know Cuts evaluation in half but evaluation here isn't as as big of a deal um you know just at this stage of where they're at it's and and the amount of profit that they're able to make uh and and I feel like if you at forty dollars you know it's was 10 so five so if their cost was five uh they're gonna have to make at least you know fifth sell it for 20 for them to sell it at 20 uh so they'll make 15 per instead of you know 24 or uh I'm sorry 35 per or or thirty dollars per so that that definitely is a it's a it's it's going to be tough thank you for the offer so I'm gonna match Kevin's offer wow 200 000 for 20. a retail guy I think we're going to try it test it if it doesn't work we're gonna stay right where we are I'm sticking and we have yet to hear from you you guys don't need me I mean look you guys are the American dream come true thank you because everybody out there now knows that your back can be against the wall you can suffer personal tragedy and with seven hundred dollars you can be standing right there and already have a great business in place and get all these offers so while I'm out I can't applaud you enough you guys are amazing thank you that means a lot you know as Mark said you're the proof all you need is drive you need ambition a lot of people think you need to spend hundreds of thousands and it sounds like this is really the O'Leary family business which I never knew so I don't know we had a family so on this one I I'm out but you've got three offers what would you like to do I mean I think Lori I still I still think Lori's sticking at 25 is probably the the right offer there first of all thank you what an opportunity all the offers are extremely generous my question to you Damon is this we understand that you probably have the manufacturing that you could help us out with correct sure of course um and we don't want to be overly greedy but for lack of better terms this is our baby but without going back and forth we would do the 15 percent for 200 000 and we would do it today [Music] why did you do that look every deal is you know a hard deal is a bad deal but you know you there should be some pain felt on both sides and I feel like it's worth uh it's it's worth Damon doing it because he's you know at that point he's investing in them he has the manufacturer he could totally just do this on his own like but you know Bill get a brand ramped up get the fabric and and go but it's the community and it's the uh Integrity of the of the entrepreneurs so Stephanie and Brad here that that you're you're paying for the table for their baby sleepwear company sleeping baby they've countered 15 of the company why did you do that ah I would normally want 33 I will have a lot of work to do on this going down any lower will be challenging because obviously there's a lot of in-kind things that come with it because when I have a staff I'm still paying them not not putting the course on to you I have to stick in my number and I'm sorry I normally would be 33 I really want to take this ride with you but I have to stick a 20. let me ask you this do you want to partner another shark in this process absolutely not you got a deal buddy thanks all right let me check out their website I like that we knew that we wanted to do business with Damon yeah he knows his stuff in that industry and so we're so excited that we have someone that's been there done that and can lead us through the next million years of Zippity zip well let's check out their website social media and everything so you know if you've watched this channel you know I love seeing faces and that's exactly what they got right at the top right the the hero image baby sleeping arms up in the air feeling feeling the edges um absolutely awesome so uh they have shop by age so they oh they have one one the five years old oh that is so I mean this actually reminds me of the sleep pod uh I think that's called what it's called that uh I really like that uh it's like getting or the hug sleep makes the hug sleep or or it's a sleep pod by hug sleep I don't know something to that effect but but yeah really cool uh zero to three three to twenty four and one to five I'm really curious about the one the five like what size is it like is it is it just oh is there okay so it's it's pajamas okay so 36.26 some great looking uh Prince there uh for freaking a lot of a lot of different prints uh so there's a lot of different offerings all the way up to forty dollars so oh from the fleece option you go fourteen five t uh but they still still selling the swaddles so yeah if they have swaddles which this is this is along the lines of what we had which was like flaps with like uh velcro set the baby couldn't uh get out of and then you have swaddle transition so I guess that's to go from the swaddle to you know slightly older baby which is what's cool so it's a forty two dollars you get two pack for 61. three pack for 90. yeah I mean depending on how much uh baby spits up you know if that the wouldn't hurt to have some extras they also have uh the was it tiny tot oh no I was the accessories I wanted to get to so they have uh some teething accessories as well but uh let's go check out uh the social media here so we got uh 127 000 likes over on Facebook got quite a few friends uh that like like their page uh already as well June 2nd was last time they posted so they're they're posting every two days or so uh say uh Memorial Day sale save up to 30 percent not no no engagement going on there um which is incredible I think that's you know it's always something to see like they're posting pretty consistently they're posting pictures of kids and babies and yet um you know and yet we're they're still not the you know the engagement is is just not there on uh on on Facebook but let's go over to Instagram where they have 35 000 followers and a little bit more engagement well a lot like a lot more compared to zero on a lot of those posts but um it's uh it's good to see just it's surprising that even with 35 000 just not much uh much there now I'm I don't know where their their Facebook group is because like at the bottom they just have the Facebook Instagram Pinterest I don't see anything about let's see about us um yeah I don't see like don't see like the like uh like their own private Facebook group that they maybe they should be should have that where they might get a lot more engagement or would have a you know the engagement that they're they were talking about but uh 483 followers over on Pinterest uh with with a couple of pins but going back to like a year ago um I did find I tried to find an update uh it did say so all over on Shark Tank recap um it says now let's uh shift Focus back to the pitch sadly the deal with Damon was never finalized after the episode aired during season six they don't mention where that um where that information came from uh but I what I can say is Stephanie Brett I'd love to have you come on the show for an interview just drop a comment down below uh like this one from Jose uh it says it's currently 10 49 p.m and I work at 7 30 tomorrow but one more episode of Joe Pardo won't hurt Jose I uh I've been there not in my own channel but with other channels I I totally understand um but make sure you're getting enough hey if we learned anything here make sure you're getting enough sleep so that you're able to perform at your your best or at least close to your best test if you're if you're able to but uh but I appreciate you being a part of the super Community uh I'll see you in one of these two videos every year take care and Kobe super
