Downloading and Installing Open LCA

Steps to Download

  1. Google Search: Type 'Open LCA' and visit the official website
  2. Download Section: Enter credentials (name, email, organization, city, country)
  3. Download Options:
    • Zip Folder: Use without installation
    • Installer: Requires installation (used in this tutorial)

Installation Process

  1. Setup File: Download and click on it
  2. Language: Select English
  3. License Agreement: Agree to terms
  4. Installation Recommendations: Follow prompts for recommended settings
  5. Completion
    • Installation completed quickly
    • Start Open LCA from start menu or desktop

Adding Databases

Manual Database Creation

  1. New Database: Right-click on navigation bar -> New Database
  2. Database Type: Select 'local'
  3. Data Insertion: Manually insert collected lifecycle assessment data
