foreign you're going to learn how to perform your analysis for this procedure you will require personal protective equipment also known as PPE this includes gloves and an apron as well as tissue paper the urine sample and reagent test strips start by washing your hands and wearing PPE check that the details on the sample bottle are correct and match the patient identification details inspect the color and Clarity of the urine check the expiry date of the urinalysis dipstick remove the dipstick from the container taking care not to touch any of the reagent squares set the dipstick down on a piece of clean tissue and replace the lid of the container to prevent the dipsticks from oxidizing next dip the dipstick into the urine ensuring that all squares are covered remove it immediately wipe off any excess urine on the edge of the sample pot this helps to avoid mixing of chemicals from adjacent reagent areas hold the stick at an angle and wait the required time interval before reading the strip against the color chart once you've interpreted all of the tests discard the sample strip into the clinical waste bin along with your PPE wash your hands finish off by documenting your findings if you enjoyed this video please like the video leave a comment and subscribe to the channel for new videos every Wednesday and every Sunday thanks for watching I hope you learned something new and until next time bye [Music]
