um requirements and you have to meet the the local council's food safety requirements as standard food safety plan basically covers all aspects from preparation transport um cleaning of the area um removal of food post event all those sorts of things it's just basically a plan telling the council that you're registered with how you intend to do all those processes that make the uh to make the event a success but more importantly to make sure that it is safe for all the public or corporates that are dining at that event part of complying with legal requirements is having appropriately trained staff preparing handling and serving food well everybody working in the the kitchen would have to have had a current food safety certificate uh food handler certificate there's there's food handler certificates one and two and you're not allowed now to to prepare food unless you have a food handler certificate regulations also come into play when it comes to serving alcohol we have a we actually have an off-site licence that we can use at any of our events depending on the size of the event the scholarly event you may have to apply for a limited liquor licence which you can do again do online through the licensing they'll ask basically the specifics of the event number of people what you're planning on serving how you determine how you're going to control the crowd is it enclosed space etc etc etc another important area covered by regulations is the disposal of food if food has been prepared and placed in an area where it can be basically breathed on by staff in the kitchen or waiters it can no longer be reused or given to the too future customers it must be thrown away the requirement for food taken to an outside event is that all food taken to the event and unwrapped must be thrown in the bin at the end of the function any food that is but hasn't been touched it's been kept in refrigeration and hasn't been used can put can be possibly taken back and reused for future function when catering for an event or function many legal requirements and regulations apply caterers need to be aware of local council food and other safety regulations a food safety plan should cover all legal contingencies staff should be properly trained and qualified regulations for serving liquor must be met [Music] catering for an event or function is a complex procedure and involves a lot of hard work on the part of all people involved but when it comes together well anyone who's been there will tell you it's all worthwhile it's a very satisfying feeling to run a successful function and get the customers coming to you at the end of the function and say that was in so enjoyable to deliver it and get to the end of the night it might be a lot of hard work to get there but um to see the result is what what it's all about is as to why you do it makes it all worthwhile [Music] [Music] you
