Honda CB350RS Review

maybe we are actually kind of used to riding a heavy vibrating engines that's why I'm kind of expecting a little bit of feedback from the engine side from this motorcycle in the sense what's up people so today we have the Honda cb350 RS one of the most requested motorcycle in this channel so this is my third day with the motorcycle and I'm kind of building a connection with this motorcycle because yes of course I've been riding Honda for a few years I can sense that Honda quality and Honda refinement on this motorcycle yes obviously this is the Brother model for the highness I have to say that this is a little more stylish version of the highness if you think the other way I don't have any problem I'm just putting my thoughts over here that's all yes this is a little different like a sportier retro motorcycle of the highness version the highness is supposed to be a very classic Torah definitely it's not too sporty it is a little bit of sportier than the highness that's this actually looks very good the fit and finish the quality of the motorcycle is too good on this one I have to admit that thing and the refinement is also too good so reliability requirement quality built everything is excellent on this motorcycle so so in the front section you can see that a dual purpose kind of a tire this tire is actually very good on-road I could do good cornering when I was actually top ending on the fifth gear so in that way I'll say that the tire has good grip and the braking is also good the suspension has got a cover over there so it actually helps you in a way that it prevents the dirt getting in and the oil seal breaking announced so that has been taken care even though it doesn't have too much of travel I didn't had any bottom out issue with the Sprint suspension and also it is on to a softer side and there you can see a crash bar from Honda which actually looks good neither too big but it does its job and there you can see the highness engine the 350 the long stroke engine one of the most sedated engines 350s I have to say in that way because this 350 has a torque in the very very early side of the band itself and it just feeds off and it goes to the higher RPM so it's a five-speed gearbox the Ford gas actually does a very good job and the fifth gear actually doesn't do anything so fifth gear is strictly for the highways and we'll come back to the engine a little later and there you can see this cb350rs logo fit and finish on this motorcycle is too good and the attention to detail on this motorcycle is very good so for example if you see the quality of this one the quality of this one the quality of this one everything looks too neat and there is this piece given over here so this is a heel sub I actually wanted this heel support on the Interceptor 650 because that's a spanking chrome exhaust and Royal Enfield having given that but on this Honda has given that I really love it and there you can see the rear suspension which is also kind of to a softer side and from the rear section this actually looks much better to me because it looks a modern retro feel good tail design and when it comes to the saree guard Honda has done some job to hide this sorry guard with an additional plastic that actually makes this motorcycle looks a little more neat only Grill was there it would have looked like the typical barbecue grill but otherwise it's good and also the paint quality on the motorcycle is good I really love it I believe that this has a little more good paint quality than the Honda cbr650r which I personally own by the way it's not a tall motorcycle on papers but the seat is Broad it's a tour and comfortable seat so the seat is a little broad even though I'm sitting in the front portion of the seat I am kind of tiptoeing if I sit little backward ah my butt is getting a lot of comfort but the thing is I don't have a planted food I'm tiptoeing so seat is comfortable beat wide receiver or the billion seat and the looks from this side is good the fit and finish is too good because you see this kind of a color over here for the Alloys and the black color grip and this color Baron which actually gives a little bit of a British motorcycle vibe to me and here we don't have any adjustable livers for the break of the clutch liver here we have the pass switch and the high beam switch indicator and Horn which is typically Volta on a Honda but I'm used to it because this is like that on my Honda cbr650r on this side we have the engine kill switch and the caution lab pretty basic we have a dial which has minimal information the speedometer is there apart from that total kilometer two trip meters one running mileage and average mileage of trip a the tank range the battery voltage that's all and then uh gear position indicator fuel level indicator time that's all and we can see a traction control signal and an ABS signal over there so it comes with dual Channel abs and traction control also personally I don't feel this motorcycle requires a traction control but it's a safety feature it's a good to have feature because say a beginner rides this motorcycle and he is riding this motorcycle on a concrete road which is slippery and yes that kind of a situation you might need a traction control otherwise I don't think that this is a too powerful motorcycle to slip out of your hand and the mirrors are actually giving good visibility by the way this motorcycle actually sounds much like the older enfields it has got that thumpy sound it doesn't feel that you you understand that right the kind of a vibration is not there what I meant is that that piston hitting the ball spill is not there so let's hear it it's pretty loud for a stock setting it is loud [Music] okay we have an open road that's a good sign [Music] all right you might have noticed that actually the gearing is very darling I think in each gear you can actually read a Harry Potter book it is that long the reason is because you actually get the torque in the lower RPMs when you shift into one gear you get that initial torque that surge out of the motorcycle and after that it actually Flats out so in each gear you actually get a lot of time you can actually think about things you can actually write about him that's how actually you shift each gear and if you ask me is this a way to Route this motorcycle then I'll say that maybe not because you can actually shift very comfortably you can shift in the lower band itself because this torque is actually located in the pretty early stages of the RPM you get a Torque in the initial and then it Flats out and you might have noticed one more thing I haven't bothered to shift it to the fifth gear when I was pushing it hard because wherever this fourth gear can take up to the fifth gear will just glide through the speed it is purely for cruising purpose it doesn't add any power or any speeds to the motorcycle by the way I've done 135 on the auto on this motorcycle but apart from that I couldn't push further and this engine is actually a long stroke engine it is not a high revving high speed engine so the comfortable cruising speed will be 90 to 110 that's what I'll say and I have to say one more thing even be it 130 or 135 which is the top reference of this motorcycle this motorcycle doesn't show any kind of distress there is no vibration the motorcycle doesn't Cries Out Loud saying that hey I need to be put down nothing like that it is very comfortable even when I reach the rev limit on the second year or the third year or the fourth year the motorcycle doesn't cries out saying that hey I need to be rubbed down if you ask me if it's a revloving motorcycle I don't say like that it is a dominant it is a sedated kind of engine which has very good refinement I mean hats off to Honda for Designing this kind of a machine maybe we are actually too much oh this guy doesn't have an indicator he has an indicator he doesn't use it all right come back to the point maybe we are actually kind of used to riding a heavy vibrating engines that's why I'm kind of expecting a little bit of feedback from the engine side from this motorcycle in the sense a kind of uh vibration also sometimes I miss vibration on this motorcycle I have to say that but if you compare this motorcycle with a classic 350 or 100 then I'll say that the Hunter and this those Enfield 350 Series has a bit more torque and bit more punch in the lower reference and absolutely no heating issues I have taken this motorcycle in most of the worst traffic inside Bangalore didn't had any issues if I have to compare this motorcycle with other members in the team uh like a Honda 350 then I'll say that this is much cooler running motorcycle and obviously I don't have to compare this motorcycle with the Domino or a Duke because again the hits are pretty good and this one doesn't have any heating issues so vibration wise heating wise this engine is actually very good so that's all about the engine now let's look at the other parts so if you ask me about the through of the headlight then I'll say that the throw is not good I was not comfortable riding this motorcycle just just with the stock headlights uh definitely if you're planning to buy this motorcycle buy an auxiliary headlight if you're planning to tour on highways in City it is kind of okay we can manage with street lights also but on highways you need an auxiliary light and this comes with a flat indicator instead of the round indicators on the highness so a little more fancy stuff that you see and it looks good in my eyes it looks good and this comes with tubeless tires and the tire is actually giving very good confidence I'm surprised with it because I was doing 130 135 and I was reaching a corner and I didn't had any confidence issue taking that entire long sweeping Corner in that speed itself so pretty much confident in taking the motorcycle to by the way this motorcycle is actually very stable in the sense speed whatever speeds this can go it is very stable and I have good confidence in brakes also the braking is good the kind of raking this requires is the same braking that we needed for the sports motorcycles it's like you can have a 70 30 braking we can use mostly the front brake to control the motorcycle so the difference which I mainly see with the highness and this one is if we get the center of mass the weight of the motorcycle over here so in that sense we are actually controlling the weight of the motorcycle so if I'm going in slower speeds yes I a bit of a weight but once it's rolling about 10 kilometers speed then the weight is not felt even in high speeds when I'm in high momentum I don't have any problem Bringing Down the motorcycle to 20s or 30s this is the thing that it takes a little bit of time in each gear to get into a speed and coming on to the suspension the front suspension is actually onto a softer side very comfortable to ride inside City broken roads speed Breakers everything it takes pretty much cool and the rear suspension is actually a bit harder compared to the front s but all together it's a softer feel so when you have a little more tighter suspension in the rear section then we get good corner and confidence and when it comes to the gearbox on the clutch this is one of the lightest clutch Honda is actually known for that they actually design motorcycle with a very lighter clutch I have seen this from my CBR to 50 days onwards this is kind of a benchmark for the softest clutch feel in this CC and to talk about the gearbox the gearbox is precise the only thing is like the fifth gear is an ultimately lazy guy I want to kick his butt it doesn't do anything man fourth gear takes it up 230 and the fifth gear is like okay I just fly in this speed nothing which I can do okay that's a character of the engine let's assume it that way and coming on to the ownership this motorcycle is actually 2.7 to 2.8 lakh on Road Bangalore depending on the color that you choose the dual tone or the monotone color and there is one more variant if you ask me if it's a value for money I don't say it's a value for money but if you are someone who actually chooses things in a life based on reliability quality and stress-free things then probably Honda should be in one of the first three motorcycle companies in your list so then in that way I'll say that it's a good buy and uh the service bills Honda is actually very famous for service bills even for the Africa twin or the Fire Blade so this actually goes for servers once in 6 000 kilometers you have to do the first service obviously in 750 2000 kilometers and after that once in six thousand kilometers and once these free services are done the service cost in general seems like thousand five hundred thousand six hundred rupees so that's what I heard from owners in that sense I'll say that it's pretty cheap to maintain and I haven't seen a scarcity in sourcing the spare parts for this motorcycle like it's readily available everywhere so you don't have to be tense for that I've seen people worrying about the availability of spread parts and all at least in Bangalore I see that everything is available unless you are going for a fairing and all otherwise they would have everything you get it over here also and the general mileage claim is 35 kilometer per liter and if you're running it in these speeds like 60 to 80 an hour that is the Eco Mode you can see that there is a light coming over there if you're running in the Eco Mode then probably you'll get a 42 kilometer per liter and it gives a very nice and sweet feel when you're riding out on the highway you get that old Enfield Vibes with no vibration now let's come to the word act should you buy this motorcycle consider yourself as a beginner you're just learning how to ride a motorcycle then I'll say that this is a good pick because this water has good reliability you're learning on a motorcycle then there is a high chance that you will screw over the engine you'll screw over the gearbox this one can take those kind of beating Honda is actually very famous for reliable engine so in that way if you wanted to learn on a new motorcycle then this is good and the quality is also good even if you fall I don't think that something will drastically break off from this motorcycle so if you're a beginner it is a good motorcycle it's not too heavy once it starts rolling it is okay no ground clearance is used if you want to take u-turns it is not a big deal you get a better control on the motorcycle wider handlebar so begin a friendly motorcycle and if you are someone who is already on a 300 CC then I'll say that this is not a big upgrade for you unless you're looking for a as I said kind of a relaxed a bit of a sedated motorcycle or else I'll say that look for something bigger like an Interceptor 650 or something in bigger 650s like a Kawasaki or a Honda CBR 650r or something like that then you can call it as an upgrade and if you are considering this only for the city use then I'll say that it's a good motorcycle it can take bad routes it can take speed Breakers it doesn't heat so bad gives a decent mileage it has good looks people will look at you I cannot guarantee chicks will look at you or not but people will look at you and when it comes to the highway it's a good Highway tourer as well be at a speed of 80 to 110 kilometer per hour this is much comfortable if you need a windscreen you keep it most of the time I don't prefer to have a windscreen if you're going in 100 kilometer mark because with the windscreen actually creates a different problem first of all the mountings are different second thing the kind of wind buffeting uh the motorcycle gives after installing a windscreen is much worse I have seen that with some other motorcycle so choose it accordingly so one humble suggestion if you're buying this motorcycle is that just try riding the motorcycle in stock condition just don't go buy all the accessories which is available for the motorcycle buy a radiator guard I think that's enough for you just try and get the feel of the motorcycle and start adding Alloys because if you add more weight to the motorcycle you are actually killing the Dynamics of the motorcycle the Stock Motorcycle is actually very Nimble so if you start adding a lot of weight imagine and you're going for a doctor next year or a year after that and you are you have already installed your saddle stay yesterday you are actually killing the weight distribution of the motorcycle so just go ride the motorcycle at least for 5000 kilometers in stock condition tie your saddlebacks just go for rides then understand how the motorcycle behaves without adding much weight to the motorcycle you'll love it so that's my personal feedback about the motorcycle if you have any doubts about the motorcycle do let me know in the comment section if I know about it definitely I will get back to you and if I don't know about that I'll talk to the people who know the answers and I'll come back to you so I hope this video is helpful for you and as always show some love in the form of likes and comments see you in our next video Until then bye oh damn I'm writing a poem
