Edmonton was historically a parish in Middlesex, now part of London Borough of Enfield.
Districts covered: Arnold Grove, Bose Park, Bush Hill Park, Edmonton Green, Lower Edmonton, New Southgate, part of Oakwood, Palmer's Green, Southgate, Upper Edmonton, Winchmore Hill.
All Saints Church
Original parish church where many ancestors were buried.
First mentioned in 1136, granted to Walden Abbey in Essex.
Burial registers from 1558 to 1954, held at London archives and online at Ancestry.
Wealthier parishioners had gravestones; inscriptions recorded by London and North Middlesex Family History Society.
Monumental inscriptions available in microfiche and manuscript forms.

W Chapel at Southgate
Built by Sir John Weld for his family; consecrated in 1615.

Christ Church Southgate replaced W Chapel in 1863.

Burial ground in use since 1684, over 1,000 graves.

Opened 1788, burial yard used 1792-1837.

Chapel land bought by Great Northern Railway in 1869.
