Six Modes of Consciousness

1. Ichcha Shakti (Desire)

  • Many types of desires arise in the mind.
  • When one desire is fulfilled, another arises.
  • We get caught in the cycle of desires, both big and small.
  • Desire keeps us focused on the future.

2. Gyan Shakti (Knowledge)

  • The desire to know and acquire information.
  • We gain knowledge from reading books, learning about various subjects, and from our actions.
  • After an action is completed, we understand the knowledge of that action.

3. Kriya Shakti (Activity)

  • Our life is filled with continuous activities.
  • Every action we perform is a part of Kriya Shakti.

4. Shanta (Stillness)

  • The ability to become still and quiet.
  • Everyone has this ability, but it needs to be developed.

5. Vimarsh (Understanding)

  • This involves judging and understanding knowledge.
  • It is not just knowledge but the analysis and judgment of it.
  • Judging right from wrong, good from bad.
  • Can lead to misery if overdone.

6. Prakash (Presence)

  • Experiencing presence and light.
  • Often beyond logical understanding and words.
  • Achieved by letting go of desires, understanding, and judgments.
  • The present moment is vast and deep.

Yagna and Consciousness

  • Yagna (rituals) fulfill all these six powers.
  • The energy from Yagna is high and beyond logical thinking.
  • Creates a wonderful energy that can be felt beyond thoughts.

Living in the Present Moment

  • Being fully in the present removes the existence of past and future.
  • Letting go of desire to fully experience presence and bliss.
  • Judging the world as a dream or an illusion brings serenity.
  • Scientists now acknowledge that the world might not be real.

Handling Desires and Judgments

  • Sankalp: Taking a desire (Sankalp) and letting it go, knowing it will be fulfilled.
  • Don’t hold onto desires; recognize you are bigger than them.
  • Recognize the importance of small things in life.
  • Divine is permeating everything, honor it and move to Shanta.

Importance of Serenity and Presence

  • Getting stuck in desires, knowledge, or improper actions leads to misery.
  • Knowing how to become quiet can help overcome misery.
  • Continuous judgment (Vimarsh) of oneself and others is counterproductive.
  • Presence (Prakash) arises when you achieve serenity and let go of judgments.
  • Experience high energy and ecstasy in Yagna.

Key Takeaway

  • Your very presence should bring smiles to others.
  • No need to convince or talk to others; your presence itself should make others happy.
