Hey everyone! Welcome to Korean with Miss Vicky :) Have you ever tried to say something in Korean by directly translating from your language, only to have the native speakers not understand what you're trying to say? For example, let's say you wanna say I'm too lazy to clean. And you think 게으르다 might fit lazy, so you say, 청소하기 게을러요. But actually, 게으르다 is only used when describing someone's personality as lazy, and the most natural way to say you're too lazy to do something in the moment in Korean is by saying you find that something bothersome. So you can say Verb-기 귀찮아요 (귀찮다 means bothersome or troublesome) and there are many other expressions like this where it sounds rather awkward when directly translated from another language. In this video, I've selected 70 such common sentences. The thing about these sentences is that they aren't really suitable for sentence making practice. That's why it's best to just accept them as they are. So while these sentences might align with high-beginner to intermediate-level, in terms of grammar and vocabulary, no matter what level you're at, if you keep listening and repeating after them, you can train your ears and your mind to these natural Korean expressions, and you'll even get to a point where you recognize some sort of pattern for some of them. And of course, knowing the structure, grammar and words used in each sentence can help you understand and remember them more easily, but if you get too caught up in those details, it could actually get in the way of naturally absorbing the language. Even if you come across words that you don't know in a certain sentence, by checking/comparing its English equivalent, you'll go "Oh! This is how this word is expressed in Korean!" and your natural learning ability will pick it up. So for this video, you can just relax, put your headphone on and let your natural learning ability do the work. Long time no see! 오랜만이네요. I'll keep in touch. 연락 드릴게요. Get well soon. 얼른 나으세요.
