[Music] act 5 scene 7 of Macbeth takes place in the midst of battle where Macbeth finds himself cornered but he continues to fight he takes some comfort in the prophecy that no person a woman born can do him harm seeing words a son finds Macbeth and Macbeth kills him declaring that the young man must have been born a woman Macbeth flees before Macduff arrives Macduff pursues Macbeth while seaward and Malcolm make their way toward the castle even though the part of the prophecy regarding burnin wood coming to Dunsinane Hill did not go as planned for Macbeth he still has faith in the second vision none of woman born can harm him although he is in the midst of a battle and probably doesn't have time to think about alternative meanings his clinging to this vision represents his continued blind allegiance to what he believes is his destiny he takes his ability to kill seabirds honest proof that the remaining prophecy is true still driven by arrogance even as the battle rages around him
